Hovering roughly 200 meters above ground both Lincoln and Alina gazed at the surroundings with a reminiscent expression. "This place..." Alina whispered under her breath. More than a thousand years ago the scenery was once filled with beautiful, lush field and exotic plant and a lake that stretch far into the forest.
Beautiful fairies and wild beast once called this place their home as they lived in harmony with nature. In the center of the forest the "God of death" Castle once stood tall in the center.
However, the scenery that reflected in their eyes right now was nothing like they remembered. The mountain and forest were completely covered in ice and snow. The majestic structure of the castle that would make one want to lower their head in reverence and admiration was completely gone. There was no trace that indicate it was even there in the first place!
"The entire castle is gone! Th-Those bastards!" Alina roared; she furrowed her brow in displeasure at the same time a tremendous amount of energy burst outwards with Alina as its core. "Wha?!" Lincoln was taken aback by her sudden outburst his face contorting in a show of surprised as his body was sent flying backwards from the fierce wind pressure.
However, Lincoln spread his black raven wings outwards to stabilize his flight. "H-Hey, calm down... rampaging won't change anything, you know." Lincoln said as he tried to appease her rage.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!...
However, his words failed to reach her. Alina's amethysts eyes were like two black bottomless abysses, there was not a single trace of emotion could be seen on her beautiful face. Her magical energy came outwards like an endless torrent! Stirring the winds in the surrounding!
The sky rumble, the ground split and broke apart as spatial cracks appeared in the sky, from within the crevices black lightning of annihilation flickered outwards.
BOOOOOM!
A large portion of the mountain was cleanly destroyed and lost their structures as half the frozen forest was completely destroyed as the surroundings was struck by the black lightning bolts.
Seeing this Lincoln clicked his tongue before he used a movement technique to appear before Alina.
"Hey, will you get a hold of yourself already! Have you forgotten the real reason why we came here? What do you think will happen if you destroyed that thing?" Lincoln tightly grasp Alina's shoulders as he bellowed.
Alina gasp as the light of reason finally returned in her beautiful amethyst like eyes which glisten with tears. All of her most cherish and precious memories reside here, but now all of those memories were nothing! Just like a transient cloud of smoke they faded away and disappeared with time leaving no trace behind.
"I can understand your pain and anger, but please calm down... we will definitely get revenge for our master. But until then there is something important that we need to retrieve." Lincoln said, with a serious face.
"... S-Sorry." Alina said, as she held her head down in shame. She wasn't very good at controlling her own emotions and tend to act with her fist whenever she gets too emotional.
Alina grounded her teeth as she clenched her fist, "... Your right, this grudge will be repaid one hundred-fold!" Alina declared.
"Yes, it certainly will, it's only a matter of time before those arrogant gods who view themselves as higher beings to know the true essences of death." Lincoln said, calmly.
After they had buried Hendrix's remains, they had done some investigation regarding what had happened after they were turned to stone.
They were naturally shocked to find out more than a thousand years had already passed since their battle against the god of earth.
As for what happened to Hendrix after they were turned to stone, it wasn't difficult to come up with a few theories.
Since they're stone bodies were safely placed inside that strange cave. Then it must have meant that Hendrix had somehow survived his battle against the god of earth, the God of gravity and the goddess of life.
'I'm still confused as how he had gotten out of there safely, though, does it have something to do with the goddess of life?' Lincoln wondered.
Isis was a brother lover, and deeply loved her younger brother to the point that it bordered on the level of obsession! Lincoln was sure that she wouldn't have allowed the gods to kill Hendrix no matter what he had done, so how did Hendrix die?
Just who could have killed such a powerful being?
He was really curious, but sigh!
"It doesn't matter! Our grievance with the gods won't change, they will know the true meaning of fright sooner or later!" Lincoln declared as he pulled out his sword that was sheath at his waist!
With a swift movement that caused his long waist length silky blonde hair to flutter and sway he swung downwards with a mighty force that caused the atmosphere to tremble!
Swoosh!
The sword of darkness plummet downwards in a straight line leaving behind a trail of darkness in its wake!
Soon, the sword struck the snow-covered mountain and left behind a large gaping hole in the center!
"Quickly Alina, make a barrier!" Lincoln bellowed. Hearing his orders Alina waved her hand creating a golden sphere of light around them.
"!?"
Without warning a tremendous amount of death energy exploded outwards like an unparalleled tsunami! The air pressure rose easily dispersing the clouds in the distant!
Some of the mountain that was fortunate enough to remain standing despite Alina's uncontrollable energy finally lost shape and collapse falling onto the vast forest.
However, the aura of death that was released from the crater in the mountain killed many unfortunate beasts and even the vast trees which came into contact with the aura of death died instantly.
"Keep the barrier up. Even we who were born from his blood would die if we came into contact with the aura of death." Lincoln warned. Alina nodded her head with a serious expression as she observed the hole in the center of the mountain.
"It should be here, right?" Alina said as she glanced at Lincoln's face. "Yes, it should... that orb can't be destroyed with the passage of time, and I highly doubt the other gods found it and destroyed it after he went to such lengths to hide it." Lincoln said as he gazed down into the hole.
The crater his sword of darkness created was so deep that seeing the bottom was impossible even for them. Hendrix already knew that the gods would destroy his castle so he hid the orb down at the core of the earth, a place where they would probably overlook and ignore.
"With that core we should be able to use void energy, an energy especially effective against the gods." Lincoln said as a smile appeared on the corners of his lips.
"... Using void energy is a taboo to those gods whose divinity cannot withstand the murky and heavy pressure of using it... however, we as demigods who are only partially divine beings should be able to use it without much trouble." Alina commented.
"We should go. Now that the death aura was released, they should be aware of it! It's time we get out hands on the power to permanently kill gods!" Lincoln said.
The golden sphere of light became a blur as it plummets downwards inside the dark abyss, becoming a small golden dot until it disappeared completely.
...
Meanwhile, back on the divine island...
Swoosh!
Standing on what seem to be a training ground was a lone woman who seemed to be practicing her swordcraft...
Each time she swung her silver sword her silky black shoulder length hair would sway and flutter by her graceful movement!
The woman's body was small and delicate and would instinctively invoke one's desire to protect her like that of a small harmless bunny who knows nothing about the world.
However, despite her small and delicate body the woman's eyes were stern and Sharpe as the edge of a blade ready to reap the lives of any opponent. She wore armor that was designed with many phoenixes marking from the sides.
Her golden eyes shone with a mysterious power, with each swing of her sword the air trembled and space twist! She moved her body with impressive reflexes and agility that would make even the most talented gymnast envious.
"Space splitting slash!" She bellowed as she swung her sword, releasing a slash that not only caused the air flow to change direction but also cut the space before her as the slash was swallowed up by the empty void, leaving nothing behind.
"... Still not enough. I need more." The black-haired woman said. She soon closed her eyes as she pondered over many different ways, she could increase her strength. Her comprehension on swordsmanship had already reach its limit.
Once a god or a goddess reach the maximum limit of their comprehension it was extremely difficult to increase their power any further.
As the "War goddess" Victoria had already reach the limit of the sword and had not made any further progress in her strength.
"Don't you think you are over working yourself? We gods are already the strongest and stand at the top, why are you pushing yourself to go further beyond?" A rough voice sounded from behind, causing Victoria to come out of the sea of thoughts.
Without looking back Victoria answered. "Even for us who stands at the top can still progress and reach further beyond... even if we are the strongest, that isn't enough of a reason to become lazy and no longer pursue power."
"Hahahaha... Is that so, personally I don't see why I should waste my time on further comprehending a concept that I already excel in. Why don't you leave the battle for the men and accompany me in bed instead." The god of darkness said, smugly.
Victoria's serene expression didn't waver to his shameless words instead she smirks.
"... It seems you want to lose your manhood and become a goddess instead. If that's what you want, you should have asked." Victoria grasps the hilt of her sword as the blade gleamed with divine energy, "I wouldn't mind cutting off that thing for you right now you know."
Drake's brow twitches at her blatant threat. If any other goddess besides the war goddess had said such a thing to him, he would have killed them without hesitation but, he merely shrugged his shoulder and chose to ignore her provocative words.
"Cough, I merely meant that as a joke you know, no need to point that sword at me." Drake said. Victoria glanced at him with indifference and sheaths her sword before walking away.
"A piece of advice, be careful who you are joking with, not everyone likes to be played with... personally, I'd decapitate you if you try sticking that thing near me." Victoria leaved those words behind as she disappeared.
'... Such arrogance. They are the ones who are worth conquering.' Drake licked his lips as he watches the back of Victoria who kept getting more and more distant in his gaze.
However, Drake suddenly frowns as he notices something... 'This aura... the aura of death. Impossible! This aura is coming from the mortal world.' Drake clenched his fist as he frowned.
Meanwhile, as for Victoria she also stopped and frowned as she could also sense the aura of death.
"... That man, he is still alive?" She muttered, dumbfoundedly to herself.
