After reaching a distance of ten meters Camilia slowed down the acceleration of her flight and came to a stop. The flying beast also slowdown its movements and stop a few meters away from Camilia.
The beast had the appearance of a small looking bird, its appearance was cute, and it had long feathers of various colors that seemed to change whenever it moved its body. Its body was roughly ten meters long in length. "I'm assuming this beast belongs to you, little Jess?" Camilia looked at the beast and asked.
If someone were to see them now, they would probably think she was talking to no one in particular however, "... Yes, it's been a while... master." The beast spoke. As Jessica's voice sounded. "Oh, did something happen? I was told that you went away and probably won't be back for a few months." Camilia asked, she had visited the temple of power in search of Jessica just recently.
"I guess you could say that, actually I sent my beast here to make a request from you." She said curtly. "Mm, a request from me, isn't this the first time you have ever ask a request from me? Even though we have known each other for years now. Honestly, I thought you were avoiding me." Camilia said, as she pouted cutely.
'Of course, I was avoiding you! If this wasn't for him, I never would have come to you willingly.' Jessica was sitting on her bed inside the temple of power, she had sent her consciousness inside her beast. While she could have gone to Camilia personally herself, she didn't want to take the risk of seeing this demoness when the chances of being thrown into a fight with her were high.
She had already lost a lot of strong beasts from their last fight, she still hasn't gotten the chance to make any more contracts with other stronger beast yet, she didn't want any more of her beast being killed by Camilia.
"I see... well then it's unfortunate you are not here physically, I would have like to face you again." Camilia said with a innocent smile on her face, but that smile only sent shivers down Jessica's spine. "Anyway, let's hear this request of yours I'm quite curious about it. Just what does someone like you want from me?" Camilia asked.
"It's not me, but someone else." Jessica replied. Soon she begun explaining the events with which she had taken Kenta into her care. After five minutes of explaining Jessica finally came to a stop.
"Ahahah! Interesting, a boy capable of manipulating a special kind of lightning, you say. And a sword capable of decaying anything it comes into contact with, huh." Camilia laughed heartily at that.
After she had learnt the demon strengthening physique, there has never been anyone capable of defeating her.
Over the many years there has been many who wish to learn the physique. But unfortunately, aside from Camilia herself no one has ever been capable of learning the physique.
The rigorous training necessary is too taxing on the human body. Many had died while trying to learn the physique, while some gave up. The only reason Camilia managed to learn such a physique is only thanks to her determination and willpower.
Even Jessica had tried in the past, as a summoner her physical strength is her greatest weakness, and many tried exploiting this weakness when facing her. So, a physique that increased the strength of the body would erase that weakness. However, even after training with Camilia for four months she could never learn the physique.
"Are you sure that boy is capable of learning this physique? I don't intend to waste my time, you know." Camilia said, her expression turning serious. Although she was curious about this Kenta she wasn't going to bother if he doesn't show any talent or potential.
At that the beast smirk. "I can guarantee he is a very capable boy, while being young and still immature he is someone with a lot of determination. I'm sure you will take a liking to him once you start training him." Jessica's voice sounded very confident, which caused Camilia to raise her eyebrow in interest. "Ara, to hear you talk so fervently about someone." Camilia's curiosity was increasing by the second.
"Well, the boy is very exceptional." Jessica said, unbothered by the gaze she was receiving from Camilia.
"Hm, and do you believe he is the one you have been searching for?" Camilia asked, staring at the flying beast intently. "I do believe so. He is definitely the one who will grant my most desired wish." Jessica replied.
"... I see. Things just keep getting more interesting, first the Paullus kingdom and now you, ahahaha. I won't have to worry about getting boring it seems." Camilia let out an elated laughter at the thought of what's to come in the near future.
However, hearing the kingdom of Paullus being mentioned caused Jessica to frown on her bed.
"I did notice you were coming back from the location where the kingdom of Paullus is located, did you have some kind of business there?" Jessica inquired, curiously. "Let's just say I went to give a certain king some good advice." Camilia replied, ambiguously. Which caused Jessica to frown in suspicion.
"Anyway, I will inform you more when I see you in person, if you don't mind." Camilia said smilingly. 'I definitely mind.' Jessica thought. "When are you planning to start his training?" She asks,
"I have some things I wish to take care of, I'll come by in a few days." Camilia answered, even though she was eager she had many other important things she had left undone.
"I see... well then I'll see you in a few days." After saying that a magic formation appeared, and the flying beast disappeared along with the formation.
Camilia was left suspended in the air as the strong wind caresses her face, causing her long bluish silver hair to sway messily.
A wide grin could be seen on her face as she stared into empty space. "Ah, how long has it been since I last had to trained, the very thought of nurturing a small bud into a massive tree makes me feel tingle." She muttered as she flew into a southerly direction.
...
Back inside the temple of power, Jessica opened her eyes, revealing two bright sapphire gems. Jessica sighed before getting up from the bed and slowly started to take off her robe, after sitting down for so long sweat started to accumulate on her body, so she decided to take a shower.
Usually, the members of the temple of power would use the public bathroom to take a bath. But Jessica also had an indoor bathroom inside her room. She wasn't interested in bathing alongside anyone, even though the male bathroom and female bathroom are separated. She likes how quiet and peaceful her bathroom is.
The doors to the bathroom opened with a soft creak, Jessica gently place her towel and clothes on a rack and went towards the large bath, the bath was wide and spacious. It was spacious enough to be able to at least fit ten people inside.
After taking off the last of her clothing, she slowly stepped inside the bath, the temperature of the water was cold, but this is exactly the way she liked it. Jessica gently washed her hair and her body before sinking down into the water to submerge herself inside.
She closed her eyes and allowed the water to carry her weight as she relaxes her body beneath the water. Her body felt at ease with the sensation of the cold water, she felt at peace. It was as if she had gone back in time to those days when she could feel safe and live easy. However, as her body begun to relax many thoughts started to occupy her mind.
....
Six years ago, the surroundings were painted white, as fresh snow fell continuously from the sky. However, on one particular area the white snow was painted partially red as blood could be seen spread across the ground. A middle-aged man with brown hair and blue eyes could be seen lying in a puddle of blood.
As a young girl who seem to be thirteen years old hugged his body. "F-father!... father!... father!" The young brown-haired girl cried his name. Unfortunately, the man's breathing had already stopped long ago. His eyes were still open, his expression showing both grief and regret as he died.
"P-Please... please don't leave me all alone!" Tears continued to trickle down her fair white cheeks, as her blue eyes glisten as she begun to despair. She was on the verge of breaking both physically and mentally.
She felt fear for the unknown, and yet she also felt anger and hatred for the ones who had stolen her happiness from her!
"P-Please... don't die." The young girl muttered through her trembling lips. Her small hands were stained with blood, her body was freezing yet, she didn't seem to care as she kept hugging her father's body.
".... Why do you despair, young one?" A voice called out to her from behind. Startled the brown-haired girl turned her head to look over her shoulder. A beautiful woman with long bluish silver hair stood behind her with a stoic expression. She wore a black robe that clung tightly to her gorgeous body. "Why cry over the deceased?" The woman asked, as she approached her.
"... Just as there is life, death is something natural. We mortals can never escape its embrace. We humans are powerless against this fate. However, who is it that decides this fate? There is a rule that the strong are allowed to choose and control their own fate and destiny. Which means this man died because he was simply too weak." The woman said as she crouches down next to her, she used her hand and close the eyes of the man and looked at the girl next to her.
"The question is which fate are you currently walking on? Are you the dragon that decides your own fate? Or the ant that gets crush and trampled by the others." She continued.
"Don't feel despair, do not regret. Become strong and claim vengeance on the ones who had took from you." The woman said, as she used her hand to wipe the tears from the young girl's cheeks. "Come with me."
...
Back to the present time.
"Cough." Jessica cough as she went back up to the surface of the water while gasping for air, she gently moved the wet strands of her hair that was in her face, 'Right, it won't be long now, the time of my vengeance is almost here...' She smiled gleefully as she thought that.
