Chapter 78 - Face to face meeting with a goddess (1/3)

The next day...

The sun rose High into the sky, illuminating the sky in a faint glow, the warmth of the sun spilled down from the sky, as a warm atmosphere gradually seeped through the surroundings.

The sound of the singing of birds and the roar of beasts that sounded occasionally woke everyone within the temple of power.

Kenta also slowly opened his eyes and what greeted him was an unfamiliar ceiling.

Sweat could be seen trickling down his brow and his breathing was rough. "... I don't think I'll ever be able to get rid of these nightmares." He muttered, to himself.

All his nightmares only showed him the scene of his parents being killed right before his eyes, he couldn't help but wonder why he keeps being reminded of that day even though he was trying his hardest to forget.

'... I already feel regret that I wasn't able to do anything, why do you keep reminding me!' Kenta felt frustrated. He was angry at his dream for reminding him of how weak he truly was, he was angry at the ones who killed his parents!

He was so angry and frustrated with himself that he didn't know what to do! 'Sigh, this is hopeless. I should stop thinking about it.' Kenta thought to himself.

Kenta raised his upper body and sat down onto the bed with a dazed expression on his face. He ruffled his messy blonde-hair and sighed as he finally got to his feet.

The air inside the room was still chilly from the lingering cold night air, so Kenta opened the window to his room, allowing the sun light to glitter through his room.

"Right, today is the day I'll start training... I should go take a shower." He muttered as he quickly went to his indoor bathroom.

Kenta went inside the bathroom and undressed before stepping into the bath, after bathing for 20 minutes he wore a white robe that was already prepared for him.

He still had plenty of clothing he had got inside the city of Zaril but, the white robe they had prepared for him was easier to move around in, and since he is going to be training for the entire day it was the most suitable for him.

Knock!

As Kenta had finished dressing himself there was a soft knock on his door. 'Hm, is that Jessica or, perhaps Leroux?' He wondered as he made his way towards the door. When the door opened the one who greeted him wasn't Jessica, nor was it Leroux like he had expected, but someone else. A young boy who seems to be around his age, or perhaps a little older. The young man had short black hair and wore thin round glasses.

"Um, you are...?" Kenta questioned, curiously. "Oh, uh. I'm Leo, the son of the fifth swords," Leo replied nervously. "..." However, Kenta didn't react to him as he simply observed him bluntly. 'The son of the fifth swords. Huh, the seven swords said to be a group of ridiculously powerful swordsman?' Kenta wondered to himself.

Jessica had informed him about them yesterday, apparently, they were trained by Emerson himself and had gained his acknowledgement already.

Kenta looked at Leo with a scrutinizing gaze as though to evaluate his worth. However, Kenta lost interest in him as he didn't notice anything particularly special about him.

His aura was weak, it wasn't even at the same level as Kenta, which left him a bit disappointed.

"... Well do you need something?" Kenta inquired, he didn't know why Leo had come to his room, but he had a feeling it was for a particular purpose. "Oh, yeah. Well, I was told that you were going to enroll in the same class as me, so the teacher told me to guide you there." Leo replied.

"I see... in that case give me a moment." After saying that Kenta went back inside his room and closed the door. Before coming back out five minutes later.

The two made their way through the long hallway of the temple, Along the way Kenta once again appreciated the beautiful structure of the temple of power. When he gazed out the window, he saw beasts flying around with humans on their back.

He also observed the beautifully well-made statue of the war goddess, every time he looked at it, he couldn't help but feel uneasy, 'Just what is it about those statues that made me feel so uncomfortable.' He wondered to himself.

Eventually as they walked through the long hallway, they occasionally saw many other students who seem to be heading into the same direction as them. They all greeted Leo respectfully, while some glance at Kenta with curious eyes.

His death battle with Han has been observed by almost all the members from the temple of power, including the youngsters because of this many of them were curious about Kenta's identity. Many female students also looked at him with a deep interest but, Kenta completely ignored all of them as he followed after Leo's back with visible indifference.

Meanwhile, Leo couldn't help but glance at Kenta strangely. "Is something wrong?" Kenta asked, feeling his curious gaze. "Ah, no it's nothing but..." Leo trailed off after that and became silent. "Yes, you don't have to be nervous, you can say whatever you wish." Kenta sighed heavily as he saw Leo's hesitation.

"It was strange seeing how detached you are, you didn't even react when lady Silvia glanced at you." He explained. "Eh, lady Silvia, who is that?" Kenta inquired, curiously.

Was there something special about this Silvia? He couldn't help but wonder. "Eh, you don't know her! What kind of rock were you living under?" Leo exclaimed, shocked.

The corners of Kenta's mouth trembled when hearing his rude remark...

Whisper! Whisper! Whisper! Whisper!

Leo's loud voice seemed to have caught the attention of the other youngsters around them. "Ah aha... sorry about that." Leo laughs awkwardly as he glanced away refusing to meet Kenta's indifferent eyes. "Can you explain what's so special about Silvia?" Kenta asked, completely uncaring about the attention being gathered around them. "Oh, right, well she is the little sister of the ice princess and is the second most beautiful woman in the entire class." Leo explained.

'Ice princess, that's an unusual title. I guess she must be a skilled ice user, then.' Kenta thought. "... I see. So that's why you were so surprised, huh." Kenta said bluntly, while glancing at the girl walking a few steps ahead. The young girl seems to be around his age. Shoulder length white hair and deep silver eyes. She had a small mole beneath her luscious red lips.

She was definitely a beauty but, unfortunately her appearance didn't cause any major reaction from Kenta. He admitted she was beautiful but that's just about it. It takes more than just outer appearance to get his attention after all.

They walked through the hallway for another minute or so before coming to a stop at the classroom entrance. The door opened with a soft creak, once they had stepped inside Kenta quickly scanned the room.

Honestly, he was surprised with how massive the room interior was. Hanging on the white room walls were various weapons.

And there were already more than thirty students inside the class.

Kenta observed all of them, trying to find who was the strongest among them, but all of them had weak auras around them, which was disappointing. However, 'Hm?' Kenta looked at one person in particular.

A young girl with long snow-white hair, and silver eyes. There was a small mole beneath the right corner of her red lips. She donned a female style combat suit. 'I see... she must be the so called 'Ice princess' then.' Kenta thought, as he looked at her curiously.

Just like with Jessica and Leroux, he couldn't sense her aura. Which means she must be a little stronger than him. Rather than being discouraged he felt excited instead. "Hey, can you tell me a little about that girl?" Kenta asked, Leo who stood next to him. "Mm, you mean the ice princess?" Leo looked over in the direction Kenta was looking and ask. "Yeah." Kenta confirmed.

"Well, she is currently the strongest within our class. Many had challenged her for the title of the strongest but, unfortunately none of them had managed to even scratch her, everyone she face gets turned into an ice statue." Leo explained.

"... I see. Interesting, so my guess is correct. She must be a strong ice user." Kenta said. "Heh, she isn't just strong, she is insanely strong you know. She was trained by her mother the previous headmaster, also known as the ice queen." Leo added.

"Ice princess and ice queen, huh. Couldn't they had come up with something more creative?" Kenta couldn't help but complain. The entire names sounded cringed to him. "Ahaha... well to be honest Lady Aurora didn't like that title either, it was the student who had been turned to ice gave her that title." Leo explained.

Kenta looked at Aurora who sat silently in the distant with curious eyes. 'Hm?' Aurora frowned as she sensed his gazed. She casually glance back at him.

For a moment their eyes met, but Kenta didn't say anything, he was planning to approach her but... Kenta looked back at the class entrance and notice the person who is supposed to be the teacher had just entered. 'I'll approach her later.' He thought as he lined up with the other students.

A rather tall man with slightly long black hair went to stand before the entire class and placed his hand against his mouth. "Good morning, class." He said, a faint smile adorning his face. "!?" The entire students all responded to his greeting cordially. The black-haired man smiled warmly at that but soon, he notices an unfamiliar face mix among them and gestured towards Kenta to stand before the class.

Kenta walked towards him with calm steps and stood before the entire class. Many curious eyes gathered on him.

Each showing different reactions. Some showed genuine curiosity, some showed disinterest. While others showed contempt. However, Aurora finally looked at Kenta and narrowed her eyes slightly, she could sense something inside his aura, something she had never felt before, and yet something very familiar to her at the same time. "... I see. So, he had received a god's blessing as well." She mumbled to herself.
