Chapter 68 - Second heir.

Leroux's usual friendly expression instantly disappeared as his eyes flashed with subtle killing intent. Even though he is usually carefree his brother was his sore spot. Noticing the change in his expression the man dressed in black smiled sinisterly.

"You know it really was a shame, that man definitely had the potential to be one of the strongest swordsmen as he was legitimately chosen by that sword of yours." The man said. Leroux remained silent as he clenched his fist!

"Too bad he died facing the patriarch from the temple of shadows. I remember he was also just as carefree as you but, in the end, he was begging for mercy by the time it was all over." He revealed, with a mocking smile.

Indeed, the elder brother of Leroux was the true "Crimson sword" He was the one who was always supposed to inherent that title. However, after his death the sword was passed down to the second heir along with the title, Leroux was nothing more than a replacement for his predecessor, that's implicitly what he wanted to say by explaining that!

"?!" At that a powerful pressure descended onto the surroundings, every corner of the City of Zaril could feel that pressure! There was not a single place spared!

Leroux's blonde-haired slowly started to change, taking on deep shade of red. His eyes also turned a beautiful shade of crimson, same as his aura.

The entire atmosphere trembled and several buildings collapse in the distance unable to withstand the tremendous pressure coming down on it. Even the civilians were forced down to their knees.

...

Riding on the back of the three headed flying beast, Kenta's body shuddered slightly as he was forced down! This was the first time he had felt an aura this strong, even when he tried to force his body to get up, he couldn't move an inch!

Jessica narrowed her blue colored eyes as she stared into a particular direction. However, noticing Kenta's struggles she released her own aura to cover him.

Kenta finally sighed as he felt that pressure disappeared from his body. "Wh-What was that?" He questioned.

"... My friend, he is usually friendly but... it seems someone really angered him." Jessica replied.

Even though his persona is mostly gentle she knew how scary he gets whenever he snaps. 'I guess some idiot decided to provoke him.' She thought, as the three headed flying beast went into the direction of the aura.

...

A red colored aura surrounded Leroux as his glowing red eyes which looked ominous due to the intense pressure stared at the man dressed in black. However, despite the fact that he had just angered someone who could easily kill him at any moment he didn't seem to care.

It was as if his life currently meant nothing to him. "This is a nice aura. However, it's a little lacking when compared to his... don't you think?" The man dressed in black asked.

"... Tell me what your name is?" Leroux asked, his tone carried no emotions. "Oya, do you have an interest in me, perhaps?" The man inquired. However, to such question Leroux shook his head. "I don't... I just want to know what to write on your tombstone after I kill you." Leroux replied.

At the same time the ring on his middle finger emitted a bright light as a greatsword appeared in his hand. The hilt was black, and the blade of the sword was crimson.

A fierce yet powerful pressure was being release from the sword, it was as if the sword could easily cut anything it comes into contact with!

"Not bad the sword that is said to have been created by the goddess of war thousands of years ago, the sword capable of cutting even space in half. It certainly lives up to its name." The man dressed in black said, rubbing his chin. However, even though he looked calm on the outside he hadn't let his guard down not even for an instant!

He could also feel a rather powerful aura coming into their direction. 'That monster of a woman is on her way here along with that brat, I need to leave here as soon as possible.' He thought.

He then turned his eyes back to Leroux who was preparing to slash with his greatsword. "... You asked me what my name is, right?" He asked, seemingly calm. However, Leroux didn't say anything and waited for him to continue speaking.

"I am a member of the temple of shadows, I am Kenji." As he explained darkness started to cover his body until he was completely covered.

Soon, the darkness completely disappeared along with his body. However, even though his physical body was gone somehow his words still continued to echo.

"Our next meeting, I'll looked forward to that." Soon the entire building returned to silence.

Leroux's sword became a speck of light and went inside his ring while glowing faintly before returning to normal, his crimson hair also returned to its bright golden color as the red aura surrounding him slowly started to subside and disappear.

Even though the man was gone Leroux still had a rather annoyed feeling in his chest. He wanted to kill the man if possible but,

"Sigh. Doing so would probably result in a conflict with those from the temple of shadows, it's too soon to deal with them... someday." He quietly muttered to himself. Ever since the day he lost his older brother, the desire to destroy the temple of shadows was born deep within his being! It's the very reason he decided to swing his brother sword.

Soon, the sound of flapping became audible as a three headed flying beast slowly became visible in the distance.

Riding on the back of the beast was a beautiful woman with long brown hair, deep blue eyes which showed nothing but indifference. Sitting next to her was a young boy with blonde colored-haired, and blue eyes.

The beast landed softly onto the building as Jessica observed Leroux closely and she could easily tell judging by his expression something had happened while she was gone. "Are you okay?" She questioned. "... Yeah. Don't worry about it." Leroux answered, turning his head away awkwardly. Even though Jessica didn't know what had happened she had an idea, there wasn't many things that could anger Leroux, who was usually carefree and cheerful.

"Anyway, I see you brought that boy along with you," Leroux said, as his eyes landed on Kenta who was sitting on the back of the flying beast.

Kenta observed the man before him and frowned, he couldn't sense any powerful aura coming from the man before him.

It was the same with Jessica, even though he could feel danger when looking at her, he couldn't feel her aura. 'C-Could it be... is the reason why I can't sense their auras because their way stronger than me?' Kenta wondered.

"O-Over there, capture that boy!"

"Don't let him get away!"

The sound of heavy footsteps could be heard as many men dressed in knight attire appeared. Some of the civilians had already explained what had happened already. Seeing that Jessica ordered, "Get on, we are leaving!" Leroux didn't say anything and jump onto the back of the flying beast, the beast promptly flapped its six wings and ascended high into the night sky disappearing into the clouds!

...

Meanwhile, as the city was in turmoil inside a large mansion many maids and servant could be seen moving around, trying to fix any damage to the mansion walls.

A man could be seen sitting in his office as he gazed out the window while drinking a cup of tea, "Just who is it that's causing this strange phenomenon." He wondered, this was the third time purple lightning had struck the city, the first and second time it wasn't that bad but now.

The level of damage to the city was simply inconceivable!

'Whoever this magic caster is, does he have some kind of enmity with my city?' He wondered of such possibility.

"Sigh, the funds to repair the damage is not going to put a smile on my face," He muttered with some melancholy in his voice. Standing behind him was a beautiful woman with black hair dressed in a maid style uniform.

She couldn't help but sympathize with him. 'Maybe I should have gone to capture the culprit myself.' She thought, to herself. She also didn't know who released that powerful aura that even managed to reach their location which was at a fairly long distance away from the capital of Zaril.

'Whatever is happening, I'll be the one dealing with it.' She thought, somewhat irritated as she turned her gazed to the cloudy sky.

...

Meanwhile, on the outside on one of the many buildings that was left half destroyed. A portal opened, and a young girl with pink colored hair stepped out yawning cutely.

Soon, her droopy eyes landed on the destruction before her. "The hell! What happened here?!" She exclaimed, shocked.

Lizy used her divine senses to observe the entire city. 'Damn, it's like a natural disaster happened here.' She thought, as she leapt down from the building.

It was as if the world's gravity meant nothing to her as her body floated gently down onto the ground.

'Hm?' Lizy frowned as she looked up at the sky, she could see thunder clouds that filled the sky partially blocking the view of the moon, 'These thunder clouds... were they caused by magic, their filled with a large amount of mana, no. Their also filled with divine energy as well.' Lizy folded her arms as she thought that.

She didn't hear of any gods or goddesses with the ability to control thunder coming to the mortal world. Something seems off.

Many citizens were injured due to the lightning and human corpse could be seen lying around along with destroyed buildings and broken pieces of wood.

Lizy narrowed her eyes as she felt something in the air, something familiar and yet... something unfamiliar at the same time. A distant memory suddenly flashes through her mind, the scene of a handsome man with long silver hair surrounded by an aura that drained the life of all living beings! That aura, she really didn't like it at all!

"This... the aura of death?... it's been a long time since I last felt this overwhelming pressure. Even though it's not on the same level of Hendrix, it's still quite powerful." She muttered, with a serious face.

"Hahaha... his fears really are coming to fruition after all, that old future predicted in the book of prediction seems to be moving into that terrible future." Lizy mumbled, with a somewhat bitter smile. What should she do now? Should she prevent that future by getting rid of the cause and effect of that destiny or, should she watch it all fall apart? "Either way it's going to be troublesome... I won't be able to get enough sleep."

She sighed heavily at that realization, as she observed the badly damage streets.

"Looks like he went on quite the rampage, if this keeps up it won't be long before those guys find out about his existence." Lizy said, as she walked through the destroyed streets of the city. 'The aura is still strong he couldn't have gotten too far.' She gazed up at the night sky and narrowed her eyes. "... I need to know his real intentions before I make a decision. Whether he lives or dies is up to his answers." Lizy muttered to herself.

"Hey, you kid!" Lizy was pulled back from her thought as someone called out to her from behind, curious she gazed back noticing three knights standing behind her carrying magic swords.

"It's too dangerous for a child your age to be out here alone, come with us." The knight standing in the middle said. Due to her young appearance, it seems they had mistaken her for being a small child.

They also couldn't sense her divine aura, so they thought she was just a regular mortal.

'Child?' Lizy eyebrow twitch, she really had the urge to say. 'Brats, I'm old enough to easily be the grandmother of your great grandmother.' But she held her tongue.

She really wasn't in the mood to deal with this shit! 'The sooner I'm done, the sooner I can go back to sleep!' Yes, sleep is her real motivation!

'Yawn, if there is a goddess of sleep, I'd ask for her blessings.' She thought as tears gathered at the corners of her eyes.

Soon space twisted fiercely as a portal appeared before her, startling the three knights who witnessed the strange phenomenon happening right before their eyes. Without glancing back Lizy went into the portal which closed as soon as she stepped inside.

Meanwhile, the three knights were left standing there dumfounded with their mouth agape.
