Back to the present time....
Both Lincoln and Alina pondered deeply but, they couldn't come up with any possible answers for why they were still alive. The fate of their master has already long been decided, they should have shared their master's fate but, there were still here alive and well.
"How strange usually I should be happy about our survival but.... for some reason all I feel is melancholy." Alina said, slumping her shoulders in a show of despondent. Lincoln remained silent but, his silence meant he was in agreement. They were still alive but, at the same time their master... their reason for living was no longer there. Was there even a reason for them to keep living in this situation?
'In that battle I... I was completely defeated. As I expected the current me is no match for a God, just how strong would a true God be?' Lincoln wondered to himself.
Both Lincoln and his little sister Alina was created from Hendrix's godly blood but that doesn't mean they were gods, without divinity it was impossible for someone to be named a god but, technically they weren't mortals either but something similar to a demigod.
"Sigh. No use pondering about things we don't understand, let's see what's happening outside before we do anything else, okay" Lincoln said, turning his gaze towards Alina who nodded along.
"B-But what about master?" She asked, pointing towards the direction of the skeleton who was sitting on a throne with a robe around its body. "Hm, we'll give him a proper burial." Lincoln replied. '.... Is this really master?' He wondered.
The connection was weak when compared with the connection he had with Hendrix but, he could feel his connection with someone else far away. 'Just whom does this connection belongs to?' He questioned.
"Right. Then... Hm. looks like our armor had already repaired itself." Alina said, happily. The armor they wore were special they could regenerate from any damage they take, though it takes a while depending on certain amount of damage is inflict onto the armor. Since they were damage by the gods, they faced it took quite a lot of time it seems.
Alina didn't like the idea of moving around with a damage armor so, she was really happy to see her armor had repaired itself. "Yes, most likely while we were turned to stone, perhaps?" Lincoln pondered nonchalantly.
He then turned towards the skeleton seated on the throne before appearing before it. It was amazing at that even though it's probably been there for a long time the skeleton is still in perfect condition, it was as if it had only recently been a skeleton. Not a single speck of dust could be seen on the skeletons bony body. Even the beautifully well-made robe was in perfect condition.
The skeleton also wore a small silver bracelet on its arm. After observing the skeleton for some time Lincoln took the bracelet as well as the robe that was around its body.
".... Master, I hope you rest well." Alina said as she clasps her hands in prayer. Following her gesture Lincoln also did the same as he lowered his head reverently.
After a moment of silence, they both took up the artifacts that were still hidden within the robe and took up the skeleton before making their way outside the room.
...
On the outside of an old ruin in a desolate field there was a door with strange marking writing on the surface of the old door that was covered with sand. The sound of a soft creaking was heard as the two-sided door slowly opened. Two figures could be seen making their way outside.
One was a handsome man with long waist length blonde hair, dressed in a golden armor. On his waist was a beautiful sword still inside its sheath, his green pupils reflected the mountains in the far distance.
Standing next to him was a woman with unworldly beauty dressed in a beautifully well-made silver armor, her long glossy black hair cascaded down to her waist. Her gem like eyes were violet like a beautiful amethyst crystal.
The woman held no weapons in her hands nor was there anything equipped onto her body, she was like a woman who needed to be protected. However, despite giving the impression as though she was helpless to anyone who underestimated her that person would surely lose their head.
"Grrr... the sun is brighter than I remember." Lincoln said, as he used his hand to block the sunlight from reaching his face. He still couldn't believe he was actually free from that prison... when he realized that they were going to be turned to stone the only emotion he felt at that time was.
..... Despair. Lincoln clenched his fist as he thought of the god of earth, watching his side profile Alina spoke up. "... Is something wrong?" Her sudden question brought him back to his senses. After exhaling once he showed a small smile and shook his head.
"I just can't believe we are finally free." He muttered, as he watches the surroundings with eyes as if he was reminiscing on the past. Hearing his answer Alina's lips turned upwards. "Yeah, we are finally free... though I'm a little worried about how much time we were turned to stone." Alina said, she narrowed her eyes as she raised her senses. Focusing on her hearing. From miles away she could hear the various conversations of the people who lives nearby.
'Hm, judging by these conversations aren't the time a bit too peaceful? Back then only war occurs and only the cries of despair could be heard from the inhabitants of this world but... I can't sense anyone who holds such emotions if anything, their emotions are quite exuberant.' She thought.
We're they still in the same Era? Something feels off, how long have we been gone? She needed to investigate these problems before they could do anything.
"Before we go, let's find a place to bury master's remains." Lincoln said. "Yes, hmm... maybe over there. I can see a forest in that direction." With her eyesight enchanted Alina pointed in a westerly direction. "I see then let's go that way." Lincoln stepped out into the opened and suddenly two large wings made entirely from shadow appeared on his back.
SWOOSH!
In a flash he flapped his wings and moved through the skies at blinding speed leaving behind a trail of black line. At the same time two angelic wings appeared on Alina's back as a halo hovered above her head.
SWOOSH!
She moved swiftly following behind Lincoln as she left behind a trail of white light.
...
ROOOOAR!
Dark clouds covered the skies as not even a single trace of sunlight could be seen in the sky, the area of the forest was completely covered in a large shadow as the light from the sun that brightened up the forest was completely blocked out making the surroundings appear darker.
BOOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOM!
Purple lightning occasionally fell down from the sky, destroying anything that was unfortunate to be hit directly, many trees had caught fire from being struck by the purple lightning bolts, while large burnt craters covered the soil.
Still sitting on a rock on top of a mountain Kenta meditated as a strange marking began to appear on his skin, unbeknown to him something even stranger was happening inside his soul, his soul was a light shade of purple with three different energies could be seen there fighting against the other as though to dominate this vessel they had no choice but to share.
Soon the energy of death coming from one of the different energies were overpowering the other two energy and as if noticing that the soul eater sword was starting to react more as the aura of death was starting to be released.
At first it was subtle but then ".... ?!" The sword glowed even brighter. The divinity of lightning was also reacting strongly, bonding with his soul and creating a much deeper connection. At the same time the sound of roaring thunder became louder.
Slowly Kenta opened his eyes but, something was different.. his pupils were completely crimson, a clear difference from his usually blue colored eyes. The tattoo like markings on his body also glowed more subtly as they began to spread to cover more of his skin.
Slowly he reached out his hand and grasp the hilt of his sword, the sword didn't resist his hold as he got to his feet, 'Something feels different. This feeling why does it feel so familiar?' Kenta wondered. He could feel mana running through every cell in his body, he felt powerful, and most of all... he felt unstoppable! It was as if this is how it always should be.
Holding his sword in a natural stance Kenta swung it with all his might.
SWOOSH!
A wave like blast was released from the blade of his sword coated in the aura of death!
"...!"
BOOOOOOOOOM!
"... This?" Kenta widen his eyes as he saw the vast greenery of the forest within 30 kilometers disappeared as though there wasn't anything there to begin with. "H-Hey... even for a magic sword isn't this much power too ridiculous?" Kenta didn't know whether to laugh or cry as he saw the outcome of his swing. Even he didn't expect such a destructive output behind his attack.
"... But. Maybe my goal can be achieved after all?" He wondered.
...
In another location on a floating island.
A man could be seen reading a book, when he flips the pages of the book and saw an outcome he never could have imagined, the man widen his eyes in interest, ".... Oh. Interesting. The bad future I had predicted billions of years ago will now start to move." The man muttered to himself.
