The man wearing a wooded coat continued to look at the context of the book as if to burn every last detail into his mind. The book was a special book that showed possible futures. Among the futures written down in the book one foretold a terrible future that could ensue in the far distant future.
After reading the content of the book for the fourth time the man sighed. "Ugh.... Sometimes I loathe the ability to predict the future." The man said, as he closed the book. While having the ability to predict the future might sound advantageous to anyone, to the man this divinity was nothing but a huge burden on the mind.
"Sigh, I thought I have prevented that terrible future when Hendrix died but... who would have thought that man would do something so reckless." He sighed once again. Removing his hood, the bright green hair of the man was revealed. He had the appearance of someone in his mid-twenties.
The god of predictions, Raiden narrowed his bright green eyes as he pondered how to prevent that terrible future from occurring in the future.
When Hendrix had died, the book had stop showing him the future he feared so much so, he had thought everything was finally going to go back on the right track but, a few weeks ago new contents were written within the book of predictions. When he opened up the book to read what was written inside, he was left baffled and horrified. It was the same terrible future that was there which means Hendrix was probably still alive.
Curious he decided to look further into the future and saw someone unknown but, someone who possesses powers similar to Hendrix. However, such a thing should be impossible! After all, for someone to awaken the divinity of death such a possibility was 1% at most.
The reason for this is that Gods and goddesses must at least have some level of understanding of the concept known as 'Death' So far, the current gods and goddesses aren't close to awakening such a powerful divinity and a universal law no less....
After seeing further into the future, he saw something else he couldn't believe. "That man did he really saved a piece of his soul? Impossible, even if he had split his soul and left behind a fragment. That fragment should have faded away before it could regenerate back into what it once was... just what the heck did he do?" Raiden wondered aloud.
Hendrix he was always someone very unpredictable, Raiden didn't like him because of that. Even when he died the man had a smirk on his face as though this was exactly what he wanted or the outcome he was hoping for.
Raiden frowned usually he would never try to change the future once it's been decided, his divinity allow him to predict the outcome of a certain future not change it. That's the goddess of fates job. But this is the only time where he has no choice but to change the future... he absolutely cannot allow that 'Future' To become reality!
After thinking of ways to stop that future he hesitated for a moment before swallowing.
"Lizy, get in here!" He ordered. After a few seconds the space inside the room began to distort fiercely as a portal opened. Stepping outside of the portal was a beautiful young girl with short pink colored hair rubbing the corners of her eyes.
"Yawn... is there something you need? I was in the middle of sleeping, you know? Make this snappy." The young girl said undauntedly.
Hearing her bold words, the corners of Raiden's mouth twitch slightly. 'Woman! Aren't you the one sleeping for hundreds of years and yet you have the nerve to act sleepy as if you've never slept in your entire life.' He thought.
"What's with that look? Are you perhaps thinking something mean about me again?" She asked with a cute smile on her face, though. Raiden's body shuddered when he saw the lifeless look in her eyes. If he says the wrong words, then he didn't need to read the book of predictions to imagine his fate.
"Cough, N-No... I have something I'd like to request of you." He suddenly said. "Oh, a request, you say? Let's hear it." Lizy raised her eyebrow in interest. "I'd like for you to go down to the mortal world. There is someone very interesting I want you to eliminate for me." He said, a slight smile adorning his handsome face. ".... To the mortal world, huh. Hmm.... how many years has it been since I last left this island." Lizy pondered to herself, her eyelids closing as if she was having trouble staying awake.
A vain bulged on Raiden's temple as he saw her in that state. "Will you accept, or not?" He asked with impatience visible on his face. Even though he appeared calm he was really hoping she could accept. Lizy was a goddess who possesses a special kind of divinity that allows her to become invisible even high-ranking gods and goddesses would have trouble finding her unless she deliberately allows herself to be detected.
"Before I give my answer at least answer this.... why do you want me to go to the mortal world so bad. Judging by the expression on your face this is something really important, right? Moreover, you said eliminate someone just now, who could you want me to eliminate?" She questioned, as her sleepy face distorted and became more serious. From what she remembers Raiden didn't have any particular interests in mortals so, why was he so interested in the mortal world now? A curious glint was present within her eyes.
Raiden bit his lips to calm himself, 'This girl... it seems it's been so long that I had completely forgotten who I was dealing with.' He thought to himself, the little naive girl who would usually have a sleepy expression on her face, now currently have a serious expression. A dangerous pressure which was filled with divine power was now emanating from her body.
It was obvious she wasn't in the mood for games anymore and was serious. Raiden sighed deeply before opening up his mouth. "I want you to eliminate someone. This being is very dangerous, you know he is someone who could put both you and me as well as the whole divine entities in danger." Raiden explained.
"Oya, such a person exists? And I didn't know about it." Lizy widens her eyes in a show of great surprise.
"Mm, if what you're saying is true then.... shouldn't we tell everyone?" She asked confused. "No. My book of predictions had predicted a possible future. The existence that brings us danger is currently too weak to be a threat but, what would happen when such a being continues to exist and grow strong?" He further added.
"Ohh... so that's why you're so anxious, pfft. You remember what I told you before... that divinity of yours would bring you paranoia." Lizy said with a small giggle. "Cough, anyway like I said there is a possible future where this unknown existence will give us trouble. Will you allow such an existence to continue existing?" He questioned. "Mm... this is annoying! but I wanna sleep." Lizy replied with a troubled look on her face.
Her lips turning into a cute pout. She was acting like a winy child. Seeing this Raiden had the urge to hold his head as though he was having a bad headache. "Can't you ask someone else to do this?" She questioned. "If I could do that, don't you think I would have." He answered.
He didn't like asking her for anything, if he wasn't so desperate, he wouldn't have even bothered calling for her. "Zzz... zzz." Raiden looked at the little girl who has fallen asleep while standing on her two feet. Visible veins bulged on his head as he shook her body. "Damn it! Will you wake up already!" "Hmm? Um, what are we talking about again?" Lizy asked, tilting her head.
Raiden almost coughed blood as he heard her sudden question. Seriously, he was really considering sending this girl to medical school, was she ratardid? Or was she messing with him? If this continues, he is probably the one who would need medical attention from speaking to her.
'Tch, this girl...!' Raiden really wanted to pull all his hair out, this is why he didn't like asking this girl for favors. "Sigh, if this existence becomes a threat, then... you will never be able to sleep peacefully again." He muttered. "..."
..... At that a hush fell over the surroundings.
"What do you mean I won't be able to sleep peaceful again?" Her voice became serious and menacing. Raiden's body stiffen realizing he had just step on a landmine but. 'Wait! Maybe I can use this to my advantage and motivate her.' A slight smile appeared on his face as he moved closer to her. "If he caused us trouble won't that interfere with your sleep schedule? The gods would make you do work, won't they? Thus, making it impossible for you to sleep in peace. Now wouldn't that be an unwelcome outcome for you? Your precious bed would be left rotting away while you're left working, such a scenario could be avoided if you kill the rodent while it's still young instead of allowing it to grow into an annoying rat and caused you trouble." Raiden said, observing her expressions but "..." Her skin was pale, and her sleepy eyes were dark and lifeless, it was as if he was looking at a black hole. Raiden looked away; he was worried that if he continued to look at that black hole his soul would be sucked in!
"Unforgivable! Who is the fool who dared to disturb my sleep!" Lizy shouted. The entire room trembled and shook as a tremendous pressure was released from her body. For her, her sleep was something that shouldn't be disturbed! It was something she liked since after a while of living for so long life gets dull and boring, only when she sleeps could she really be at peace... but. Someone dares to disturbed that 'Inner peace' That she cherishes so much! She wouldn't tolerate such insolence! "Who is it you want me to kill?" She asked, in a voice that gave no room for refusals.
.... Gulp.
Raiden swallowed hard as he felt that dangerous killing intent. 'Now I'm starting to pity the kid who was unfortunate enough to get dragged into this by that bastard' Raiden thought to himself.
After sighing for a moment Raiden went closer to Lizy and place his finger on her forehead, soon the image of a small boy with blonde colored hair and blue eyes appeared in her mind. As well as all the additional information the 'book of predictions' had written down. "Interesting, so that man actually survived." Lizy muttered.
