RUMBLE! RUMBLE!
The sky shook fiercely for several seconds as Maverick and Alina both exchanged several attacks. Maverick punches fiercely while Alina warded off his fist with her golden spear, the two moved at blinding speed while clashing in repeated quick succession in the turbulent sky.
Alina closed in on maverick spear in hand as she thrust it forward vigorously! But Maverick brush the tip away in another direction using the back of his left clenched fist as he punches forward using his right fist.
BOOOOM!
Alina coughs out a mouth full of blood as his fist made contact with her stomach, her armor instantly broke apart at the same time as she was sent flying backwards from the force but, Maverick quickly shot forward chasing after her body that kept growing more distant in his gaze. A dark force was released from his fist as he chased after her body, Alina coughed heavily as she tried to stabilize her movements and prepared herself to deal with Maverick's attack!
Maverick's muscles bulged as he lunged his fist forward towards Alina's chest once again but, before his fist could reach her Alina spun her spear in a circle motion creating a powerful whirlwind like barrier blocking his fist. However, her delicate body was once again sent flying backward from the powerful force released from his fist.
At this point Maverick's strike was multiply by10 making his punches heavier and more destructive! Even though Alina had managed to stop his attack using her spear she still felt like her hand had collided with a brick wall. Her beautiful face winced with pain. "Why don't you give up, little miss?" Maverick suggests.
"Hah! forget it... I have no intention of giving up as long as my master hasn't." She replied, while adjusting her grip on her golden spear. However, Maverick sneered coldly when hearing her answer. "Are you saying that you are willing to fight a losing battle?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"We haven't lost yet, have we?" Alina retorted coldly. "You haven't lost yet because I haven't been getting serious with you throughout our little exchange." Said Maverick. "In the end the outcome is already clear.... I'm sure you're already aware of this fact yourself." He said in a serious tone.
Alina furrowed her brow in contemplation as she heard his word, everything he said was true after all while Alina was proud of her strength, she wasn't confident about defeating a god. However, that doesn't mean that she wasn't going to struggle even in this helpless situation. She wiped the blood from the corner of her lips that were painted red, and at the same time the runes on her spear glowed faintly.
'Holy judgement.' She thought inwardly. At that she gently raised her golden spear upward pointing the tip towards the sky with her right hand. Maverick narrowed his eyes as the subtle glow of the golden spear reflected in his dark colored pupils.
Her long glossy black hair fluttered softly as strong wind suddenly blew through the surroundings. "Sigh, I guess you have chosen to walk the path of death alongside that man, then I too will no longer hold back." Maverick said, clenching his fist tightly. A powerful pressure was released from his body as the gravitational field around his fist multiply from X10 to X25! space cracked, and the sky wailed!
Alina pointed the tip of her golden spear at Maverick and at the same time a vivid golden light gathered there illuminating the sky in a beautiful golden color. The two exchanged eye contact before Alina fired a beam of condensed golden light from the tip of her spear while at the same time Maverick arched his right arm backwards before bringing it forward.
"...!"
The condensed golden beam traveled in a straight line easily closing the distance between them in mere seconds and just when the attack was only a few inches away from making contact with his body Maverick swung his arm forward.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
A huge explosion took place in the sky, as the golden light exploded once it had made contact with Maverick fist! A powerful tornado like wind was released blowing away everything within a 10-mile radius. Even Hendrix and Caia who were exchanging blows a fair distance away were swept away by the strong wind and sent flying from the powerful air pressure.
"Tch." Caia who was sent hurling away clicked her tongue as she desperately tried to regain her field of balance but, before she could kill the kinetic motion of her body a shadow fell over her body.
Hendrix appeared behind her with his sword raised high in his hand before bringing it down! But, before the blade could come in contact with her body a burst of blue flames seeped out shrouding her figure in blue flames as a form of protection!
SWOOSH!
Hendrix sword cuts through the blue flames but, "Mhm?" Hendrix frown when he felt zero resistant as though his sword had cut through empty space. The blue flames completely engulf her entire body preventing anyone from seeing her but, "!!" Hendrix suddenly moved back as the blue flames spread out attempting to cover him in its warmth, his face grimaced as he promptly created a shield made from the aura of death to block the excess flames still attempting to swallow him.
"Haah... haah." Hendrix breathes heavily as sweat slid down his face, he was slowly running out of energy the longer his domain stayed active it was slowly eating away his mana. 'I guess it's time to replenish.' He thought.
The blue flames slowly took the shape of a human figure as the goddess of flames, Caia glared at Hendrix with visible fury in her eyes. Seeing that Hendrix chuckled as he raised an eyebrow, "Tell me Caia do you hate me? I killed the goddess of lightning and thunder, someone like me deserve death, right? But, have you ever once thought of those fellows who calls themselves true gods?" He asked, "What do you mean?" She questioned confused.
"You remember the battle of gods that took place hundreds of years ago, right? Do you know how many innocent mortals died in that war that was initiated by them? All for the selfish sake of finding out who was the strongest.... so many lives were lost, hundreds of worlds were destroyed. I'm the one who controlled the cycle of life and death so I can guarantee that the numbers weren't small at all." Hendrix explained, his expression nonchalant.
Hearing this Caia's brow wrinkled slightly as she clenched her fist in contemplation. "In the end its about strength, if one doesn't have enough strength then that person can just be experience points for the victor. In other words the goddess of lightning and thunder died because she was simply too weak." He said in a mocking tone. "Bullshit! Tell me is that how you see us, are we just cattle for you to grow stronger? What about Arete, the only goddess who still stands up for you are you just going to go after her as well?" Caia questioned, narrowing her crimson eyes sharply.
Hearing the name 'Arete' being mentioned Hendrix frowns as he thought about the goddess of virtue. "Hm?" Seeing the subtle change of his expression Caia furrowed her brow as she thought. 'Maybe there is still away to get through to him after all?'
"No! My ambitions won't change... I will execute all gods and goddesses and take their divinity for myself! Then I shall terminate those trash who calls themselves real gods and be the one true god!" Hendrix exclaimed. The 'Soul eater' Sword blade shone fiercely as Hendrix closed the gap between them swinging his sword.
SWOOSH!
TINK!
The blade of soul eater was stop by the blade of Caia's flame sword as both their blades met from the front, Hendrix exuded more strength into his sword as his grip tightened. Caia's face grimaced as she was forced back, however, she instantly stretched her left palm outward as blue flames gathered there but....
"!!"
Just as she was preparing to release a blast of flames multiple silver chains shot out of the bloody waters from beneath their positions instantly coiling around her legs, hands and waist! "Tch, this.... what are these chains?" She questioned. She tried increasing the temperature of her flames to melt the silver chains but, "Huh?" No matter how hot her flames get the silver chains wouldn't melt, Caia's stared at Hendrix with a frustrated look as he sneered at her.
'Heh~, your wasting your time, my suppression chains can't be broken, nor can they be melted by heat. Only I can manipulate these chains.' He thought to himself, as he looked at her with a somewhat mocking smile as though he was laughing at her useless efforts.
However, sweat continued to slid down his faces as his breathing became more irregular. 'I need more magical energy, if this keep up then... then this space will become undone.' He thought.
Caia continues to struggle but, the chains only tightened with even more vigor when seeing her struggle. Caia tried using her hands but frowned when she saw that the chains clung to her with such force that it was impossible for her to move her limbs.
"Humph, if it was that easy do you really think I would go through the trouble of summoning them? Honestly, I didn't want to use them right now but... you're not giving me a lot of option." Hendrix shrugged his shoulders casually. "Allow me to reclaim the energy I lost in our battle, Absorption!" He exclaimed.
"..... This?" Caia desperately tried everything to escape but all her efforts were completely wasted. No matter how much she struggled the chains wouldn't break. She could feel her body growing weaker as time passed if this continued then she wasn't sure she would be able to face Hendrix.
The deep blue flames that seeped from her body were slowly losing their previous intensity and now look like a tiny flame of a candle that was about to go out, meanwhile Hendrix could feel his energy replenishing rapidly as a wide smile grew on his handsome face.
