The two men who was guarding the front door of the mansion immediately went towards the side when hearing the sound of shattered glass as well as Mick's screaming voice.
"Ah, what… the hell happened here?" A slender man with hair as dark as the night sky said while gazing at Mick's lifeless body. "I-I don't know, is he still alive?" A man who was just five feet tall with white color hair and gray eyes said in a shrill voice.
"Check his pulse." The black-haired man said. "Right…" the white-haired man slowly approach the body of the lifeless Mick before putting his index finger at his neck.
After a few seconds of silence, he slowly shook his head from left to right. "I see…" the black-haired man said with a complicated expression.
'Who could have done this?' He wondered. This was supposed to be an easy job, there were no reports that there was someone inside the mansion who could put up a decent fight.
While this is a mansion of an important figure, it was necessary to have strong people to protect those inside. But for someone to be able to take down Mick it should be simply impossible.
"Sigh… what the hell are we going to tell the boss." He muttered gloomily with a cramp face. "You mean what are you going to tell him... I'm definitely not goanna be the one to explain to him that we lost all the men that went inside." The black-haired man said with a troubled look.
While it wasn't confirmed whether the others who went in are also dead, considering the fact that Mick's body was sent flying outside the mansion meant that the other two Who went in earlier were most likely dead as well.
"Give me a break, are you asking me to get killed. The boss's younger brother was inside that mansion, you know. If I report this, it's my head that's goanna be sent flying." The white-haired man said with a paled face.
"Sigh, let's worry about who gets to report later, for now let's get the hell out of here. If Grayson and Even Mick couldn't take down whatever monster was inside that place, I seriously doubt we have a chance even if we work together." The black-haired man said before running into the direction of the garden wall. "Shit! Everything is a headache." The white-haired man said before chasing after the black-haired man with a fast gait.
…
"Mm, it seems their retreating." Kenta who was still gazing outside said once his cold eyes had landed on the two men running away. For whatever reason his cold blue eyes were filled with pure killing intent as his mouth was formed into a crescent shape completely resembling the moon which shone brightly in the starless sky.
…
Meanwhile Nessa, Charlotte and Rick were able to stealthy sneak pass the mansions gate. "Sigh. It seems we made it." Rick said while panting heavily from running the whole way. "Not yet we need to find someone who can help us." Nessa said while observing the surrounding calmly. "Nn." Her sharp eyes then landed on an extravagant looking carriage that was slowly approaching from the distance.
"That's Sir Michael's carriage." Charlotte said with her voice filled with pure happiness. The three of them waved their hands trying to attract the attention of the driver who was driving the carriage.
The driver pulled the rope attached to the horses in order to stop them. "Meere." The horses front legs were raised high into the air as they came to an abrupt halt and stop in their tracks.
"Umm, Sir Michael… there is something you need to see." The driver said turning his gazed to Michael who was seating in the back and reading a book.
"Mm… what's wrong?" He asks with confusion showing on his face. "I don't know there are some children outside." He reported. "Children, you say." Michael opened the door of the carriage and calmly step down.
"Huh, Nessa, Charlotte and Rick? Why are you three outside at this hour?" He asks completely confused.
"Si-Sir Michael please help us!" Nessa said as her eyes were filled with tears. She had been holding back the fear and anxiety which were crushing her heart from the inside. She was the oldest out of the three and was also the calmest.
But even she had her own limits, she wanted to cry, run and hide like any normal person would but she couldn't. Charlotte was still extremely terrified while Rick wasn't good at making decisions in such situations. She needed to be the brains and help guide everyone to safety.
"Ne-Nessa, what happened." Michael asks hugging her Trembling body tightly. Seeing the state of her body he could easily tell something bad must have happened while he was away. Michael gritted his teeth seemingly frustrated from his own powerlessness.
He held both the body of Nessa and Charlotte tightly while gazing at Rick with a serious face. "Rick what happened while I was away?" He asks gazing at Rick to get as much information as possible. Rick shook his head and began explaining the situation.
After 10 of minutes of explaining the situation Rick finally took a breath, after talking nonstop from the explanation. "I see, so my sister is…" he muttered in an inaudible voice. "Yes, she… tried protecting us when those thieves broke in." Nessa explained as her eyes filled with sadness remembering the scene.
"Kenta also stayed inside and bought time for me to escape… I, I don't know what happened to him after that." Charlotte said tears stream down her white cheek from remembering the words of Kenta.
"Kenta did…I see, you three stays here. I'll go have a look." Michael said. He then went back to the carriage before picking up a one-handed sword that as still sheath into an extravagant looking scabbard.
…
Michael walked back towards the mansion his eyes surveyed the area, "Mm." He faintly narrowed his refined eyes and saw fragments of broken glass. "Hmm… what exactly was their intentions of breaking into my home?" He muttered. He then, walked towards a person laying on the ground.
"This must be one of the intruders." He said looking at the body of the lifeless Mick. Michael used his index finger and check whether Mick was dead or simply passed out. "Nn, he's dead, who did this?" He wondered.
There shouldn't be anyone inside the mansion with the power to repel someone like this. At least he was certain.
"Wa-Was… there some kind of accident? Judging by the fragments of glass it was obvious he fell outside from the mansions window," he said. Looking closely at the glass still stuck to his body, he probably broke his skull from his fall. So, there was most likely some kind of accident.
Michael looked closely at the intruders' clothes, and something hit him, "Don't tell me? SHIT!!!" He suddenly exclaimed. Before running inside the mansion.
