"Ophie has been kidnapped," these were the words I heard when I received Mikhails call.
It stung harder than getting stung on the butt by a bee. This disorganised my composure at the show, because how was I to keep in something like that? I paced outside the convention hall, thinking of what to do. Maureen refused to pick my calls because she knew what was coming for her. My hands were shaking, and I could literally feel my blood pressure drop.
"Ma'am are you okay?" I heard someone ask.
I looked up to see one of our workers Debby.
"Do I look okay?" I asked in a harsh tone.
She apologized, and made to leave. Then I asked her to call Miles for me.
"Ma'am he is…."
"Are you deaf, I said get my husband," I said, raising my tone.
This drew the attention of those inside. I could see people turning back to check what was going on in the hallway. I didn't even need her again, because Miles came out immediately, after hearing me scream.
