That was until I heard the screams of beasts coming from outside the cave. I walked over to the cave entrance and peeked my head out.
And what I saw can only be described as real power. There was the same pack of wolves from before and two gray toad-like monsters, with transparent eyelids and very long tongues going at it.
The sounds of lightning flying at and past the five-foot toads could be heard as well as the occasional toad licking the ground hard enough to coat its tongue in the dirt.
Their skin would then light up brightly and they would either use their tongue as a slower long ranged weapon. Or either it would bend back slightly and then swiftly fire out the entire tongue coated highly compressed dirt at the wolves.
I watched the event with wide eyes.
'So there's a certain strength in numbers but also if you have enough strength, numbers are just numbers.' I thought while watching the two toads play around with the last breathing wolf.
'I wonder just what will I do if I reach the pinnacle of strength, just how would a supreme being go about their day?'
BAM!
THUD!
'What just happened?'
'Never in my life have I seen such an attack before! They've just completely flattened the wolf into meat paste!'
'If they can do this, then just what can the Numbers and Beast Lord do?'
Then just like that, the toads left the scene. And I had just witnessed an one-sided fight.
"And I fled from those very same wolves, whereas they obliterated them. That's it, that's the very same kind of power I want. In one hand, I want to hold the power to save the world, and in the other the power to end it. I want to shove my way past those beasts and become stronger."
"Well lucky for me, they've not only provided me with the perfect meal but also some free stat points. I've got to get strong enough to pass the entrance exams, because if I don't then I'll just be left behind to wallow in self-pity. It would be a pity that I couldn't travel the same path of that method of power, I could only feed on it."
'Well enough with the thinking, time for the doing.'
I thought right before exiting the cave and bringing all the wolves back into the cave, well all except the pasty one.
I then recalled how in all of my fights, my clothes seem to get worse, and believe it or not that I'm not good with multiple highly skilled opponents unless the factor of surprise is on my side.
I then came up with two ideas, one not very moral but would put food on the table or floor. The next one is just a necessity.
I took out Clare's sword from my inventory. Before I betrayed my team in this very place, the Center Spawn, I made sure to take hold of all of their belongings.
I used the first wolf corpse as a test run.
'I'll use this one as a rough draft and if I like it more than the next few then I'll keep it. If not then I'll just keep it as a blanket of some sort.'
I thought before using the sword to dig into the wolf's skull and pull out the brain. Then instinctively I began rubbing it all over the wolf's body.
"I can already tell that this is going to take a while and that I'm not good at it. All I know is that this is what I'm supposed to do but not really how to do it. Normally at times like these, I'd start feeling another vision but I don't."
Then after I completed all of the wolf corpses, I began skinning them. Then I noticed something I should have before, blood.
'The wolves are still bleeding, well more like dripping with blood, but bleeding works just fine.'
'Now I'll have this place stinking for a while, which means I might have to relocate soon.' I thought while still skinning the wolf.
After the first one, I was amazed, amazed at how terrible it turned out! Then after the third one, I was finally getting somewhere, it was good, not amazing but good enough.
"I've finally made something out of this wolf hide! This should be enough to keep me warm and to also use as some form of clothing once what I'm wearing is done for, also I can use the clothing of my team as well."
"I still have them in my inventory, after all, I mean for now until I can use Ki properly, these rings are just for show. I mean I can see into them and upon direct contact with another, I can transfer items to another space ring with just world energy but if I want to take something out then I'll need to use my Ki. Thanks for the lesson Ka'dar."
"It's time for my stat points, and then I'll set the next phase of my plan underway, plan code name, Trap."
[You have received 3 unallocated Stat Points!]
[Current Unallocated Stat Points: 5]
"Good, now for this next plan, I'll have to heavily focus on my speed. Plus this will help for my fighting tactics, and maybe even with those Wild Arts, but that'll come later."
"System, place four points into Agility."
'Ding!'
[Four Stat Points have been allocated to Agility!]
The odd female voice resounded once again in my head.
'Yep, I'll need another boost that my partial transformation skill might not be able to give me. Also, I still need to test out Complete Transformation. Nonetheless, it will have to wait, I have a long day ahead of me.'
[Agility: 13]
"Now for the rest of my day, I'll spend my time finding a clean source of water, and hopefully the cave won't stink as much as it does when I come back."
Then once I stepped out of the cave, to my surprise the sun wasn't as bright before.
"Now this time I don't have a clue. I'm guessing it's somewhere around noon or just became noon." I said before walking off in a different direction than last time.
Then to my surprise, around thirty long minutes of thirst later, I found a river. It was somewhat dirty but it would have to do, with my body now being a bit different from being completely Human after all.
"That's not all that bad, but how am I going to get water to and from my cave? I guess the walk isn't too far so I can just come here whenever, though it's a bit lazy it'll have to work for now."
"This seems like the perfect place to commence Plan Trap!"
"This will be one of my main ways of getting stronger in the wild," I said before drinking more water from the river as it would flow into an open water area.
