Chapter 33 - QQ Messenger

I will be there even if you don't call me

I will save you even if you don't need me

I will your cover, shielding you from the rain even if you don't want me to

Look at the skies, it's a beautiful morning!

Look at the birds, they are chirping.

Look at the sun, it's shining bright!

The lyrics of the song kept ringing in Walden's ears as he stumbled towards the penthouse. Reaching the door, he opened it and went inside.

''Lord Walden, how do I look?'' A voice asked as its owner came to view.

A fair young lady with delicate features and skin as white as a porcelain came into view. Unlike her usual green apparel, she was dawn in a colorful neon dress that made her appearance exquisite.

''Lady Kaadie…'' Walden turned to look at the lady with a smile. He was busy sharpening a knife when Kaadie arrived and asked him.

''Tell me! I wish to attend the party tonight. I've always refused going there but this time around, I really want to go and see what exactly happens there. I know you will be there that's why I want to go!'' Kaadie said.

''Lady Kaadie, those parties are dangerous for a spirit who isn't part of the vampire clan. Even I will not be going there.'' Walden stood up and put the knife away before walking closer to the lady.

''Then, what am I supposed to do? I thought I would use this chance to see your mother and tell her that I want to marry you.'' Kaadie said and blushed.

''Don't get ahead of yourself, Priestess. You don't have to impress anyone except me. As for my mum, she will come and find you at the right time. Don't worry!'' Walden brushed Kaadie's hair back.

''I learnt a song from the humans today. They said one can sing it to their love ones. Do you want to hear it?'' Kaadie asked.

''Yes, I want to hear it!''

''Alright, it goes like this….''

I will be there even if you don't call me

I will save you even if you don't need me

I will your cover, shielding you from the rain even if you don't want me to

Look at the skies, it's a beautiful morning!

Look at the birds, they are chirping.

Look at the sun, it's shining bright!

Walden staggered into the bathroom and fell inside the Jacuzzi filled with water. He closed his eyes and began to sink inside.

Even though he was drowning in the water, Walden could still hear the lyrics of the song. As if seeking to draw him in its words, he didn't have the strength to get out of the water.

The faces of the two women kept colliding until they merged into one and it turned into complete darkness. Deep within the darkness, Walden heard a voice.

''Lord Walden, wake up. Wake up, Walden or you will get drown…'' The voice said and Walden opened his eyes suddenly and saw Ali standing in front of him.

''Lord Walden, are you alright?'' Ali asked as Walden sat up and started coughing. He helped Walden get out of the Jacuzzi and picked a towel for him to wipe his face.

''I'm fine. Get me something to change into.'' Walden said and looked at himself in the mirror. Ali nodded and hurried out of the bathroom. He returned after a while with new set of loungewear and gave it to Walden before going to the door to wait.

''What happened to you, Lord Walden?''

''Alison, have you noticed anything strange about her? Has she said or done anything that is out of the ordinary?'' Walden asked as he took off his clothes.

''Not that I can think of. Why? Did she say or do something strange?'' Ali asked.

Walden sighed and walked out after changing into the loungewear. ''No! You can leave, I want to be alone.''

''Lord Walden, are you okay? You look paler than normal?''

''I'm fine. Restock the sunburn cream for me. The sun is a little harsh these days.'' Walden said and turned to pick his phone from the table. Ali followed him out of the room to the hall.

''I will do that. Then, I will be on my way now.'' Ali said before leaving.

''Wait!'' Walden said and stretched his phone towards Ali.

''Is there something you want me to do?'' Ali asked.

''Set up the QQ messenger for me.'' Walden said before going to sit on the couch.

''Boss, the QQ messenger? Do you want to chat with someone on QQ text?'' Ali asked.

''Just set it up for me!'' Walden didn't want to give out too much information.

Knowing his boss, Ali asked no further questions and simply did the set up. He synchronized the contacts in it and even put up a profile of a cat in it for Walden before handing the phone over.

''Boss, here is the phone. I've done the set up already. You can simply check for the name of the person you want to chat with and send a message.''

''Alright! You may leave now.'' Walden said and walked over to the fridge and opened it. He removed a bottle of water and went to sit at the hall. After sipping the water, he took his phone and sent a text to a certain someone.

Alison was blowing her hair when her phone vibrated. She looked at the message strangely and muttered.

''What are you doing?'' Alison read the message.

''Who is this?'' She mumbled and was about to text back a question when a name appeared on the screen.

''This is Walden! Your friend!''

Alison chuckled and texted back. ''You haven't sent a message to anyone before, right? I can tell you have poor texting manners.''

''You are really…'' Alison chuckled and started typing.

''What are you doing?''

Alison looked at the text and smiled. ''Blowing my hair. What are you doing, weirdo?''

Alison texted back and her door opened. Lucia entered and went to slump on the bed. She turned to face Alison and asked.

''Oh, you are smiling?''

Alison quickly turned off the screen and placed the phone on the bed.

''Whom are you texting?'' Lucia asked and stretched her legs on the headboard.

''Nobody. I was just checking our group chatroom.''
