''Unless you want to be label a pervert and predator, stop harassing me.'' Lucia said to him.
''A pervert? Hey! You little slut. You dressed like this and come to a club and you dare to call me a pervert? You shouldn't have dressed this way in the first place. Or you shouldn't have come here if you didn't want men looking at you. Who the hell do you think you are? I just want to have fun a little and you are taking it too far…''
''Do you need my help?'' The bartender asked Lucia.
''No, I can take care of him myself.'' Lucia removed her wallet from her back pocket and opened it. She removed a $20 dollar bill and placed it on the counter saying. ''I'm going upstairs.''
''Hey, you little slut. I'm talking to you!'' The man said angrily when he realized Lucia was ignoring him and walking away. He started following her.
''He really shouldn't be following her!'' The bartender muttered and shook his head.
Lucia walked to a door and opened it. There was a staircase leading to the upper floor and she took it. She was well aware of the man following her but she decided to ignore him.
The corridor up the stairs was a little dark. There were a lot of rooms both at the right and left side of the long corridor. It was very quiet because of the high quality soundproof that was installed in it. When Lucia opened the door and stepped in, she looked at the far end of each side of the corridor before turning to her left. The man opened the door and yelled at her.
''Hey! You little bitch. You were all talk at the counter, let's see who will save you here.''
Lucia turned and looked at the man. ''You really have a lot of guts following me here…'' Lucia said and moved fast towards the man. She trapped him between the wall and let out a chilling chuckle. ''I was restraining myself from human blood but you just had to bring yourself. Now, I won't be blamed for your own ignorance.''
Lucia raised her hand and slapped the man's cheek and a series of nail marks appeared on his face. Blood oozed out and Lucia became intoxicated from it. She parted her lips and was about to suck when someone suddenly knocked her neck and she fell into a pair of arms.
Owen looked at the man and sighed. ''Won't you get out of here?'' He asked.
The man touched his cheek and yelled. He ran out of the place. Owen carried Lucia into one of the rooms and laid her on the couch. He picked his phone and made a call to the bartender at the counter.
''Take care of the man coming outside. He might cause trouble.''
''Yes, Lord Owen!'' The bartender hung up and looked at the door. It opened and the man ran out of it towards the club entrance/exit. The bartender sighed and followed him.
The man managed to get outside the club and staggered towards his car. He removed his phone and was about to make a call when he saw the bartender suddenly standing in front of him. Before he could even yell, the bartender knocked him off and he collapsed.
''That's why I told you not to go there!'' The bartender muttered and opened the front door. He carried the man inside and touched his forehead, chanting some words before leaving the man there and went back to the club.
Lucia opened her eyes and looked at Owen. ''How dare you knock me out?'' She asked and sat up on the couch.
''Would you rather, I let you drink that human blood and face the consequences? Not even Boaz could save you when that happens.'' Owen stood up from the table and opened the fridge. He removed a bottle of red blood from the fridge and gave it to Lucia.
''Here, this is refined animal blood. I was wondering until when you will yearn for human blood. Your chi was running out, right?''
''Mm. I haven't drunk blood in the last 5 months because I had a lot of activities. I was beginning to get drained from all that work.''
''Hey, you a fox princess, not a human being. You need to recharge. Don't overwork yourself trying to fit into the human world.''
''What about you? Aren't you a doctor because you want to fit in? Boaz is a hospital director because he wants to fit in. Walden is the owner of a giant business company because he wants to fit in. All of us are trying to fit in.''
''I'm saying this because I'm worried about you. If you overwork yourself out, animal blood won't be able to sustain you. Just like earlier on, you might end up losing your restrain and actually drink human blood. Have you forgotten what happened to you that time when you accidentally drunk human blood thinking it was animal blood? If Boaz hadn't come to your rescue, you would have really died in the hands of those people.''
''Right!'' Lucia smiled bitterly. 'That was the main reason why I fell for that bastard. Since then, I've always loved him. But, Owen, it is so hard to love Boaz lately. I don't even know what he is thinking.''
''Aye, silly girl. I told you before. Boaz is dedicated to his job as the protector. He has no love cells in him.''
''I know, right? But why doesn't my heart listen to me?'' Lucia opened the bottle and drunk the blood hungrily. Her paled skin started to regain some color and her cracked lips became smooth and soft again.
''About that human girl and Walden. Do you think it will end well? I mean the elders are out to sacrifice her. If Walden continue to insists, he might end up risking his own life. Fighting against those old haggard elders is not easy. If anything, they are tenacious.''
''Walden must have a plan. Alena already attacked Alison. We still don't know how Alison was able to overpower Alena but she was wounded badly. It will take a while before she comes out again to attack Alison. Before then, we must find a way of dealing with her. She is bent on bringing Asarem back to human form and we all know what that means.''
Owen sighed. ''Let's go, I will take you home.''
''Mm!'' Lucia stood up and picked her phone on the table.
