A woman with a veil tied loosely around her head closed her eyes. She was standing in the stream and the water splashed down her body. Her body was trenched with the water that came down from the mountaintop. It made her dress clench tightly to her body.
Her eyes opened, revealing a pair of beautiful turquoise eyes. The sound of a drum could be heard suddenly. Slowly, the woman moved her body, her legs to the beat of the drum. She jumped up when the drum hit a high tone.
With her long legs intertwined like a ballerina, she turned her body around and stretched her arms. She could only hear the sound of the drum. As body, moving as if she was possessed. It was no doubt that she had amazing dancing skills.
A lot of the town's people had gathered to watch her dance. This wasn't the first time she was dancing in the mountaintop stream. She was the great ghost descendant and interceded on the behalf of the people.
The sound of the drum because more conspicuous. As the woman danced, the waters she dances in started rising with each beat. As if following her steps, the water rose and fell at her command.
The drumming suddenly stopped and the woman also stopped dancing. When she did, a young lady rushed forward with a heavy cloth and covered her body up and helped her out of the stream.
"Lady Kaada, here… drink some herbal tea. The water is especially cold.'' An elder woman walked over with a cup of tea and said to the lady who had just finished dancing.
"Why don't you have this instead?'' A hand stretched forth with a cup.
Kaada looked up and gave a polite smile to the man and refused him gently. "Sorry, but I only drink from this cup.''
"Kaada…''
"How dare you call the ghost descendant by her name? Apologize immediately!'' The older lady commanded.
"It's alright, Asa.'' Kaada said and looked at the man. "Lord Liam, what can I do for you?''
"Marry me, Lady Kaada! I love you!'' Liam said.
"I'm sorry but I cannot do that. Now, if you will excuse me!'' Kaada said and walked away.
"I won't give up!'' Liam yelled.
….
Present time.
"How long are you going to protect her? Sooner or later, she has to choose between me and Walden. Unlike Walden, I actually feel that she is a really nice person that is worth giving a chance. Walden just wants her soul but I want her plus her soul. Isn't that quite touching?''
"What is he talking about, Lucia? Who is Walden?'' Alison asked.
"What kind of situation is this? Don't tell me she has yet to meet that jerk?'' Liam asked and chuckled.
"That's not your business. Scram from here, Liam!'' Lucia said sternly and turned to look at Alison. 'Alison, we should get going.''
"Huh?'' Alison looked at them confused.
"Alison, we shall meet again!'' Liam said and turned, pushing his carte away.
"Alison…'' Lucia touched Alison's hand and she turned.
"Lucia, that man… why I feel that I know him?''
"You… know him?'' Lucia looked at Alison with a suspicious gaze.
"Let's go!'' Alison said and looked away.
…..
The Penthouse.
"Kaadie has met with that human girl already?'' Boaz picked a mug of coffee and went to sit across Walden at the hall.
"Yes, and my suspicion was right. She wants Kaada's soul. Without it, she refuses to ascend to the afterlife.''
"Liam met Alison at the mall. I don't know what he would have done if I didn't arrive there early.'' Lucia walked in through the door saying.
"Walden, looks like you are not the only one who wants the human girl's soul. A lot of people are after her.'' Boaz looked at Walden.
"Alison cried when she saw the picture of Kaada today at Kaadie's office. She said she didn't know why but she felt sad the moment she saw the photo of Kaada. There is something else to that human girl. She isn't just a normal human girl. I need to figure out what her secret is.'' Walden muttered and stood up.
"It's the connection she is sharing with the soul. Her inner being felt sad after seeing the photo of Kaada because of the connection they are sharing. I remember back then, when the witch's daughter reincarnated, a lot of the memories of her past life came back to her. Even though she was living in a different time and world, she could still remember everything that happened in her first life. Maybe it is the same with Alison.'' Lucia said and sat down.
"I doubt that. She is only living with the soul. She is not a part of the soul. She doesn't even have a past life nor a future one because she is supposed to be a dead girl. That kind of telepathy between souls only exist if the dead person reincarnates with the same body. I don't sense that kind of energy from that human girl.''
"So… you are still of the view that Alison should die?'' Lucia asked angrily.
"Lucia, your attachment to this human girl is alarming and unsettling. There are more than enough people who want her dead. Liam, Kaadie, the evil spirits out there. I just think that Walden is the most deserving of all of the people that want her soul. She has lived with a borrowed soul for the past 26 years. Without it, she would have died a long time ago. Do you rather someone else gets the soul that belongs to Walden?''
"Alison is a human being, Boaz. Stop seeing her as just a soul. Alison has always lived a good life. She can't even hurt a fly. Why do you hate her so much?''
"I do not hate her, Lucia!''
"But you don't like her either. You can never change.''
"What are you talking about?''
"You are always talking about rules and the order of life. Boaz, sometimes I really wish Owen was here instead of you. At least he has empathy.'' Lucia said and stormed out of the house.
"Lucia!'' Boaz stood up.
"Let her be. She is emotionally unstable right now.'' Walden said to Boaz.
"Walden, am I being heartless towards that human girl?'' Boaz couldn't understand. He felt that Lucia was obsessed with Alison.
"Boaz, I want you to stay out of this. I will decide on what to do with Alison.''
"Walden, don't tell me you also think that human girl might be connected with Kaada?''
"If there is a slim chance, even if it is less than 1%, I still want to take it. Until then, Alison is going nowhere.'' Walden said and stood up
