When the car pulled over and Xiuying got down with Kai, she saw Douglas standing at the entrance. His hands were folded behind him and he had weird smirk across his face.
''Ready?'' Kai turned and asked Xiuying.
''Mm! Just for today, I will try my best not to kill that cousin of yours.'' Xiuying said and smiled. She hated the sight of Douglas.
''As long as you don't kill him physically, I don't mind you putting him in his place.'' Kai held her hand and they walked up the pavement stairs.
''Okay!'' Xiuying smiled.
''Look who we have here? I thought I was going to starve while waiting for your arrival, cousin and… cousin in law?'' Douglas said rhetorically.
''Or you could have just eaten your share and left in order not to be a nuisance.'' Kai said and Xiuying chuckled.
