Early the next morning.
Wura yawned as she covered her mouth gracefully, trying to hide that she was very tired right now.
She knew that she had said she would be awake early this morning but so much happened last night and she ended up going to bed very late and now she was awake and tired.
Wura shook her head as she tapped her cheeks forcing herself to stay awake and not look like a mess, she did not want Mero questioning if she had enough rest, because she was sure that he would conclude it would be best for her to stay and rest while he went alone, and she did not want that at all.
"Stay awake Wura, stay awake" she said to herself as she yawned once more, as she stopped behind a corner and got herself together before proceeding to where she could hear Mero giving some orders.
"Make sure that you keep that in a safe place, it cannot be damaged do you understand?" asked Mero as he was speaking to one of the guards that was carrying a fairly heavy looking wooden box in his hands as the guard nodded and walked on his way as he joined others that were loading some other boxes into the carriage behind them.
Mero seemed like he was thinking about something very important, but he snapped out of his thoughts as soon as he heard the sound of faint footsteps behind him and he turned around to see Wura standing beside him.
"Good Morning my Queen" said Mero as he gave her a little bow.
"Good morning Mero" said Wura as she smiled and yawned as she tried to stop herself from yawning but it made her face contort.z
"Are you alright?" asked Mero as he frowned slightly noticing the weird way her face contorted.
"Yes I am fine Mero, why do you ask?" asked Wura as she smiled happily.
"Nothing, you look tired..." said Mero as Wura scoffed internally, could she really not hide anything from Mero.
"Well I am a little bit tired, it is very early after all" said Wura as she yawned again, the sky was still dark and the sun had not even come out yet, if Wura was to guess she felt like it was still two hours away from sunrise.
"I did inform you that we would have to leave very early" said Mero.
"Yes I know Mero, but I did not think that it would be this early" said Wura as she shook her head.
"But it does not matter, I am here now and I am ready to go, so when are we leaving?" asked Wura as it was clear that she was eager to begin this journey.
"Very soon, I just need to make sure that everything is in place before we leave" said Mero as Wura nodded.
"Alright then" she replied as Mero looked at her and he seemed to remember something.
"In the meanwhile... have you had breakfast yet?" asked Mero with a questioning gaze as Wura chuckled sheepishly, she had hoped that Mero would be in a rush and they would leave as soon as she had arrived, but that was not the case yet.
"Well no...not yet... I was in a rush to meet you here so I had no time for breakfast" said Wura as she explained softly and Mero replied with a little hum, he knew it.
"Well we had a deal, you cannot start skipping your meals just like that" said Mero.
"I know Mero but I assure you that this time it was not intentional, I really did not want to be late" said Wura as she could see that Mero did not believe her.
"Believe me, I might have skipped breakfast but I ate something really light before coming here, Nora can testify to that, ask her if you want to be sure" said Wura very confidently as Mero believed her, she was not one to lie.
"Alright, I will take your word for it" said Mero as one of the guards signaled to him that they were done loading the boxes into the carriage as he gestured back to them that they could leave.
"We are all set to go now" said Mero as he looked at Wura.
"Alright..." said Wura as her eyes scanned around, obviously looking for something.
"What is it?" asked Mero as he noticed that she seemed to be searching for something.
"Are we going by carriage?" asked Wura as Mero shook his head.
"No that would be to noticeable and it would not be a quick way to get where we need to go" said Mero.
"So we are going by horse?" asked Wura as Mero nodded and in that same moment a knight approached them leading Nolan and Mero's horse behind him.
"Your horse my Queen" said the guard as he gave a light bow and handed over the reins to Wura as she smiled at him.
"Hello boy, how are you?" asked Wura as she smiled and gave Nolan some quick pets on the snout, she was happy to see him and Nolan on the other hand neighed as if he felt the same.
"Where is everyone else?" asked Wura as she turned to Mero who was adjusting the saddle on his horse.
"What do you mean?" asked Mero as he turned to look at her.
"I mean where are the knights and the guards and the relief supplies?" asked Wura.
"The knights have gone ahead, the guards will follow far behind us since we do not want to raise an alarm and the relief supplies I had them sent ahead of us earlier" said Mero.
"Oh... so we are going alone?" asked Mero.
"Yes, we will go alone, it is better that way" replied Mero as Wura turned back to face Nolan.
"I see..." she said as she did not know why but the thought of them being alone for even a little while made her feel a certain way, but she was sure that she was just overreacting.
"My Queen!" came the sound of Nora's relieved voice as she ran steadily to where Wura was standing as Wura looked up surprised to see her here.
"Nora, what is it? Is something wrong?" asked Wura.
"No nothing is wrong my Queen, I am just relieved that you have not left yet" said Nora as she smiled and Wura smiled at her.
"Here you forgot this" said Nora as she opened the sack that was attacked to Nolan's saddle and she placed a little wooden box in it.
"And I also prepared you something light that you can eat if you feel hungry" said Nora.
"Oh Nora that is so sweet of you, thank you" said Wura as she smiled.
"You are welcome my Queen... please take care, make sure to take care of yourself, and eat, and sleep properly and I will miss you" said Nora as she gave Wura a quick hug as Wura smiled, how could she have thought of going anywhere without saying goodbye to Nora first?
"Oh Nora, I will miss you too, but I will return before you know it, and then you can return to taking care of me" said Wura as she laughed and Nora laughed lightly, she still had a bad feeling about this, but she was trying so hard to put it at the back of her mind, maybe she was just overreacting for no reason.
"I do love doing that my Queen" replied Nora as she smiled and Wura smiled before Nora took a step back and realized that Mero was here as well.
She looked up as her eyes met his and she looked back down immediately, it would be strange for her not to bid him goodbye as well, but she just felt very conscious of their surroundings and now especially that Wura was present.
"Good morning Mero" said Nora as she looked at him, deciding not to make an utter fool of herself.
"Good morning Nora" replied Mero with a small nod, at first he had thought that Nora was going to ignore him and had no intention of speaking to him at the moment, but he was wrong.
"I wish you a safe journey and I pray that everything goes well... please take care of yourself and return soon... I will miss you..." said Nora as those last four words were nothing more than a whisper.
A soft smile shone on Mero's face as he heard her words.
"And so do I" he replied as Nora looked at him, wondering what he was responding to, her prayers or her statement?
"Ahh well I have to go now my Queen, safe journey and please return soon" said Nora as she did not even wait for Wura to reply to her as she dashed away causing Wura to chuckle.
"The two of you are truly very amusing together" said Wura as she chuckled and Mero looked at her, giving no response to her statement.
