Wura looked at Mero as she sighed, she knew that he was right, and yes, she had no intention of running away, but did she want to talk about this? No, she did not want to, but it was not like she had a choice now, she had to talk about it.
Wura was deep in her thoughts, she figured that she at least owed Mero a good explanation, after all, she was the one who opened her big mouth to tell him something that he obviously did not notice before.
Wura decided that Mero was right, he was right, and she needed to act maturely and stop flaring up, so she walked to the couch and sat down as she sighed, making Mero sigh internally in relief, at least she looked less agitated which was good for him.
He would get nowhere if Wura was simply agitated with him, he needed her to be calm, and he also knew that he needed to remain calm as well if that was to happen.
"Mero, I understand what you mean and what you are trying to say, and I agree with you" said Wura.
"But I am not going to tolerate your speculations that are degrading, stop speaking in parables and trying to ease the question, just be honest with me and ask me honestly, that is all I ask from you" said Wura as Mero nodded.
"I understand Wura, and I apologize if I hurt you with my words earlier" said Mero.
"I understand as well…" replied Wura as she sighed.
"When you say that you have feelings for me, what exactly do you mean?" asked Mero.
"And I am asking because there are different types of feelings, and you say that it is not love, and it definitely is not lust, then what is it then?" asked Mero as he just wanted to know.
He honestly did not know how to feel about this, he usually always had his emotions in check and he always had a hand on everything, but not this time, he genuinely felt confused, last night when Wura said that she had feelings for him, he was just plainly shocked and worried by her behaviour but now when all the words she said as sunk in, he realized that if she was truly feeling something deep for him, then they had a serious problem.
"Look Mero, I admire you, that is it" said Wura as she was tired of this, she just wanted to get this over and done with and never talk about this again.
"Are you sure?" asked Mero as Wura nodded.
"Yes" said Wura.
"But what you said yesterday did not sound like mere admiration" said Mero as Wura took a deep breath.
"Look Mero, what do you want me to say? What do you think?" asked Wura as she looked at him.
"Wura honestly I am confused, you tell me what to think" said Mero as Wura never thought that she would ever hear him say that.
"Mero I… I like you, but I definitely do not love you, I love Liam" said Wura definitely, she wanted this to be very clear, very very clear, and she knew that Mero knew that as well, but she just wanted to make sure he knew that.
Mero nodded, he knew that she loved Liam, and that was why this entire thing made him feel so confused and worried he did not want anyone to get hurt in this.
"But what I feel for you… it is complicated…" said Wura.
"The thing is, I have always admired you Mero, always, Liam trusts you and so do I" said Wura.
"I respect you so much, I think that you are a great man, and you always do your best to do your duty" said Wura.
"Before, I only had nothing but admiration for you, but recently, I found out that changed…" said Wura as she took a pause.
"When did it change?" asked Mero as Wura scoffed.
"Ever since that stupid kiss happened, I regret it every day, it was the worst mistake I ever made…. Since that happened… I have not been able to look at you the same again" said Wura as Mero looked confused, a simple kiss could not just trigger feelings like that, it had to be something deeper.
"And I know that I must probably sound insane to you, because a simple kiss should not be able to do that right? Well it unfortunately did, and I know that you do not feel the same, which is what makes me feel even more terrible about it" said Wura.
"You said what I was thinking Wura, I truly do not believe that kiss was what caused your feelings" said Mero.
"And I do not think that you are insane at all, far from it, you are only telling me how you feel, and that is how we are going to solve this matter" said Mero as Wura forced a smile, she really hoped that they would.
"Wura, forgive me for asking, but are you sure that these feelings you feel for me are not just a result of your loneliness because of Liam's absence?" asked Mero very carefully as he did not want to get her angry.
"No Mero, I do not think so… yes I will not refuse to admit that Liam's absence causes me to feel severe loneliness, but I think that the real problem here is us… or rather me" said Wura.
"How come?" asked Mero.
"Well when Liam left, I had to depend on you, and I know that I can, I know that I can count on you, and when we were in the Yonder Realm, it was the same thing" said Wura.
"We became closer, and although I do not regret that because I do admire you really, but I guess that I am not in good control of my emotions" said Wura.
"You are the person I turn to when I need help besides Nora, I can tell you anything and I trust that you will be discrete" said Wura.
"You were my pillar of support in hard times, and I guess that I started to see you in a different light a long time ago" said Wura.
"I guess what I am trying to say is that I naturally like you Mero, who would not? You are a very nice man, however in my case, this is terrible" said Wura.
"I understand how you feel Wura" said Mero as he agreed with her.
"I cannot deny that you are attractive, as humans we like looking at attractive things, but your looks are not the only reason I like you, I like you because you are always there for me, I can always count on you to be there in hard times when I feel like I cannot make it" said Wura.
"I truly do appreciate your loyalty Mero, I really do but I…" said Wura as she took a pause.
"I just think that we need to start spending less time together alone… it is not good, not for you and especially not for me, I do not want this to end in a disaster" said Wura.
"I understand everything you have said Wura, and I agree, if that is what you want to do, then it is alright" said Mero as he nodded.
"Thank you Mero, thank you for being as understanding as always" said Wura as she smiled.
"And I am sorry for the way I behaved towards you last night, it was wrong of me to try to push you away instead of talking like the adults that we are" said Wura as Mero smiled.
"I understand, you were overwhelmed last night" said Mero as Wura smiled, that she was, but still that was no excuse for her bad behaviour.
"Thank you Mero, and thank you for listening to me, It honestly feels very nice to speak out everything that has been in my mind for a long time now" said Wura as she smiled.
"Who knows maybe what I claim that I feel for you is nothing, I am sure it will go away soon" said Wura as she laughed and Mero laughed, hoping that would be the case.
"Thank you Mero, for being very calm with me" said Wura as she smiled.
"And thank you for assisting me, I know that talking about something as delicate as this could not have been easy, so thank you for trusting me enough to tell me" said Mero as he smiled.
"To be honest Mero, I never intended to tell you, but oh well, things that are beyond our control happen" said Wura as she laughed dryly, it was far from happy for her, she never wanted to tell him, but well, she did, and here they were.
"You are right, it is better to learn to accept them rather than avoid them" said Mero as Wura nodded.
"I have to leave now Wura, I need a report from the knights" said Mero as he stood up.
"Alright, take care Mero" said Wura as she smiled and Mero nodded before he left and Wura sighed, well at least she had one less thing to worry about.
