Chereads / Betrothed To The Prince / Chapter 384 - Late

Chapter 384 - Late

"And because of wealth, my stupid father did what he was not supposed to do" said Mero in coldness.

"All witches do is cause mischief and ruin the lives of others" said Mero as he could feel himself getting angry all over again, that was why he hated talking abut this, it just make him feel so angry.

Nora could tell that Mero was getting angrier by the second, she could notice that this was really angering him, and she had honestly never seen Mero angry, but judging from the tone of his voice, she could only imagine how angry he looked right now.

"I do not think that you should focus your blame on the witches alone Mero" said Nora as Mero looked at her.

"They only say what people who are not intelligent want to hear" said Nora.

"You are right, which is why I blame that man who happens to be my father, my mother and I were fine until he showed up once again in our lives, only to bring us to Wyverdale" said Mero as Nora did not know what else to say, it seemed that she had added more wood to the fire.

She could tell that the only way to make Mero calm down would be if they stopped talking about this topic.

"He claimed that he gave me everything, while all I wanted was my mother, they did not even give her a befitting burial, they just threw her into the ground and that was it" said Mero.

"I hate all of them with passion, looking down on the lowly" said Mero as he hated this so much, just because his mother was a slave meant nothing, she might have been a slave, but at least she was happier, she lived better in the East than in the little time she spent here.

"It is irritating how wicked people never get their wickedness returned to them until it is late" said Mero.

"Mero, I can see that this is making you upset" said Nora.

"It is, and I hate it" said Mero as Nora had never seen him like this before, never, he was always the cam sensible one, but now, it was clear that he had forgotten all of that temporarily.

"Have you ever stopped to think that maybe, not everything that happened was bad?" asked Nora as Mero looked at her.

"No, I find it impossible to think of how not everything was bad" said Mero.

"Well have you ever stopped to think that if your father did not bring you here, you would have never known Wyverdale?" asked Nora as she believed that Mero needed a little cheering up, and although she was not the best at that, she always preferred to see the better results of things.

"I never cared about my Wyverdanian roots, I preferred the east anyway" replied Mero.

"You would not have grown up to be the man you are now, that we all trust and admire" said Nora.

"At the expense of growing up without my mother, the only person who truly loved for me, and who I truly loved" said Mero.

"Have you ever thought that… *pause*, maybe, just maybe, your mother's death caused you to be the man you are today" said Nora.

"It did" replied Mero as he still did not sound convinced and that made Nora still feel a bit worried, he was still angry.

"And if you had never come to Wyverdale, you would have never met his Majesty, her Majesty, Elihu, Zuph, Zechariah, Luc… or… or me…" said Nora as she held Mero's hand and looked away as he looked at her.

"I know that I cannot even begin to imagine the kind of pain that you went through losing your mother in one of the worst ways possible" said Nora as she could feel her heart beating loudly in her chest as she held Mero's hand, she was regretting holding his hand, but she felt like he needed to hold someone's hand, so he could know that they all cared for him.

"But whether we like it or not, things happen for a reason, and sometimes… they are for our good, to make us stronger…" said Nora as she kept on looking away, regretting bitterly that she held Mero's hand, he was so quiet that it scared her.

Mero looked down at his hand that Nora was holding as he looked at her.

"You should know that we all care for you Mero, and you can always talk to us" said Nora.

"Thank you Nora, your words mean a lot" said Mero.

"Thank you, I never thought about it like that" said Mero as Nora kept on looking away.

"I apologize for getting so angered, and scaring you, I appreciate your honesty" said Mero as he raised Nora's hand as he kissed the back of her hand which left her shocked as she quickly pulled her hand out of his grip as she rubbed her hand.

"I apologize if that made you uncomfortable" said Mero as Nora looked at him, realizing just how strange she must have looked by pulling her hand away like that.

"No… no, I overreacted, sorry…" said Nora as Mero just smiled.

"This is all new to me… so I apologize if I overreact, or behave strangely, I am just very confused and uncertain right now" said Nora.

"I admire your honesty Nora" said Mero as he smiled, Nora was someone who would say her mind, and he liked that about her.

"Thank you…" said Nora as she did not know what else to say.

"My Queen, I come with good news" said Lown as he flew into Liam's office with a smile as he turned into his true form.

"Oh finally Lown you are here, what do you have for me?" asked Wura with a smile.

"My Queen, I went to check on Mero and Nora like you asked me to" said Lown.

"And??" asked Wura as she could not wait to hear what was going on over there, it killed her on the inside, she knew that Nora wanted her to stay out of it, but she just could not help it.

If there was a possibility that Nora and Mero could get together, she would want to make sure that she did everything she could to support them.

"And they seem to be alright my Queen, they were eating and talking" said Lown as hearing that made Wura smile.

"Did you hear what they were talking about?" asked Wura.

"Well no my Queen" replied Lown as he shook his head.

"I could not fly any closer to them, less they see me and be upset with you my Queen" said Lown.

"Oh that is alright Lown, thank you" said Wura as she smiled, she did not know what she would do without Lown around her, she made a good decision by not sending him away, who else would she ask to go watching people for her.

And he was such a good help against Elder Foden when he arrested Richard falsely.

"You are welcome my Queen" said Lown with a smile.

"But tell me, did you see Nora's face? Did she look uncomfortable?" asked Wura.

"No my Queen, not at all, she and Mero were talking" said Lown.

"Oh well, alright then, it is alright, as long as they were talking" said Wura as she smiled and Lown nodded.

"Her Majesty must be wondering on what is going over here" said Nora as she looked at Mero.

"Yes she must" replied Mero.

"Knowing her, not knowing what is going on here will make her be unable to rest" said Nora as she gasped.

"She probably sent Lown to follow us to make sure we are together right now" said Nora as she laughed and shook her head and Mero laughed.

"She must want this to work badly" said Mero.

"You do not know the half of it Mero, she has thoughts of she and his Majesty's child, running along with our… *ahem* I mean, if we had a child, they would run around and play together" said Nora.

"Hmm I can imagine that is something she would say" said Mero as Nora laughed and she cleaned up the plates.

"Would you be willing to try?" asked Mero as Nora looked at him.

"Try what?" asked Nora in confusion.

"Try for this to work?" asked Mero.

"Ahh…" said Nora as she looked down and Mero moved his head down to look at her.

"Umm…" said Nora as she did not know what to say.

"You do not need to answer me if you do not want to" said Mero.

"Yes…" replied Nora.

"Yes what?" asked Mero.

"Yes, let us try to… to make this work…" said Nora.

"Are you sure?" asked Mero as Nora nodded.

"Yes, I am sure, let us try to make this work, there is no harm in trying" said Nora as Mero smiled.

"Thank you Nora" said Mero as Nora nodded and smiled, hiding her face away.

"You should try to look at me directly more" said Mero.

"Does is bother you that I look away?" asked Nora as she looked at Mero.

"It makes me feel as if you are scared of me, are you scared of me?" asked Mero.

"Well, no I am not… scared Mero" said Nora.

"But when you look away it seems as if you do" said Mero.

"I am sorry, I will try to avoid that from now on" said Nora seriously.

"Thank you Nora" said Mero as Nora just smiled.
