The next day.
Wura was working in Liam's office when she suddenly heard a knock on the door as she told the person to enter the office.
"Good Morrow my Queen" said Mero as he entered the office.
"Good Morrow Mero" said Wura with a happy smile on her face as she looked at Mero.
"Someone told me who the flowers you were holding yesterday were for" said Wura with a smile as Mero cleared his throat, of course he should have known that he would not be able to hide anything from Wura.
Nora told her everything for sure, they both did tell each other everything, Mero just felt slightly embarrassed, but he was not here to discuss that.
"I apologize for not telling you the truth my Queen" said Mero.
"As you should, if you want to court my most trusted handmaiden, I have every right to know, and you know that I would most certainly bless the union, Nora is a wonderful person and she deserves to be happy, and so do you" said Wura.
"I will refrain from hiding important things from you in the future" said Mero.
"Better, but before that, tell me, what are you intentions with Nora, what do you feel for her?" asked Wura as she did not want any complications, she knew that love could be quite a complicated thing.
"My intentions are nothing but pure my Queen" said Mero.
"Well do you love her?" asked Wura.
"No my Queen, in all honesty no, I do not love her, but I do admire her, and I am interested in her" said Mero.
"You are indirectly saying that you will fall In love with her soon am I right?" asked Wura.
"I cannot assure you of that my Queen, we do not know each other quite well yet, and things could get messy if we jump to conclusions like that" said Mero.
"I know that, and that is exactly what Nora said" said Wura as she smiled, these two were the same in so many ways but they did not even see it themselves, they were a perfect match, and yet they did not even know it.
"And It is exactly because of that cause that I have given you and Nora both the day off tomorrow, to go out and learn more about one another" said Wura with a smile.
"My Queen, I do not think that is necessary" said Mero.
"Oh no Mero it is, you and Nora need to get to know each other more if this is ever going to work" said Wura.
"My Queen, really this is not necessary" said Mero.
"It is Mero, I am not asking for your opinion, this is an order, as your Queen I order you to take Nora out somewhere nice tomorrow" said Wura as Mero sighed internally, he should have known that Wura would protect Nora like this, he should not have thought that it would be easy to approach Nora just like that.
"Mero, I do not want either you or Nora to be hurt" said Wura.
"I know my Queen, thank you for granting me leave, I will use it wisely" said Mero.
"Thank you Mero" said Wura as she smiled.
"Now tell me, why did you come and see me?" asked Wura with a smile.
"Actually my Queen, it is a very serious matter, one of life and death" said Mero.
"What? What do you mean?" asked Wura in confusion.
"My Queen, before I tell you, please assure me that you will remain calm" said Mero.
"I will Mero" said Wura as Mero looked at her as if not believing her words.
"I will stay calm Mero, just tell me" said Wura as Mero nodded.
"My Queen, I am not sure if you are aware of the treaty with the East?" asked Mero.
"I am aware, they give us gold, silver and iron, and we give them whatever they ask for that they do not have" said Wura.
"Yes my Queen, but as of late, the East have ceased from performing the end of the treaty" said Mero.
"How come?" asked Wura.
"My Queen, the East are very cunning people, I am sure that they are still bitter about them becoming a Wyverdanian state and they want revenge" said Mero as Wura sighed.
"And I am sure that they have also heard of Liam's absence, which is why they did what they did" said Mero.
"What did they do Mero?" asked Wura as Mero took a pause, he did not want Wura to worry, but she needed to know about this, she was the one in charge here.
"My Queen, the East has officially declared war on Wyvrdale" said Mero.
"What??!" asked Wura with her eyes wide as she stood up and Mero nodded.
"But no, they cannot do that" said Wura.
"My Queen they can, and they will, they declared war" said Mero.
"But they have not even recovered from the last war that lasted five years, the war that Liam retuned from, why would they want another one?" asked Wura.
"My Queen, I believe that because of their knowledge of the King's absence they think that they can take over easier with you bearing rule" said Mero as Wura scoffed.
"Oh well they are wrong, there is no way that they are going to win, they think that just because I am a Queen I will not fight?" asked Wura.
"Then they have another thing coming, I am going to fight, how do they want to take the Kingdom away?" asked Wura in disbelief, she did not understand why the world was so wicked.
"I agree my Queen" said Mero as honestly, he was worried that Wura would not want go to war since it would be dangerous, but she was ready for it already.
"My Queen, from the information I have gathered the East is waiting for a reply from us, if we will agree or surrender" said Mero.
"They declared war first, so Mero, declare war as well, if they think that I am just a Queen in name then they are wrong, Liam trusted me, and I am not about to let his Kingdom be captured when I am here" said Wura as Mero nodded.
Although she knew nothing about the art of war, she was not just going to sit back and watch this all unfold this was unacceptable, Wura was sure that Mero would be here to help her, he was Liam's right hand man, he surely knew everything.
"Mero I know nothing about war, I am looking to you and the others to guide me" said Wura.
"I am at your service my Queen" said Mero.
"Thank you Mero" said Wura as she nodded.
"My Queen, the first thing you need to do is choose a territory for our camp to be" said Mero as Wura nodded.
"How do I do that?" asked Wura as Mero walked to the shelf and he brought out what looked like a huge old map as he laid it down on Liam's desk.
"My Queen this is a map of Wyverdale" said Mero as Wura nodded.
"Here we are in the capital, the north is over there, the east is over here" said Mero.
"The West is over here, and the South is all the way here" said Mero as he pointed to the far end of the map as Wura was surprised, she never knew that the south was so far away from everything like that, it was like it was in another Kingdom entirely.
"The east would have set up camp already in the valley, and there is an opposite valley around here, where we can set up camp as well" said Mero as he looked at Wura.
"Well what did Liam do the last time that this happened?" asked Wura.
"Liam decided not to follow the traditional way, what he wanted to do was rescue the captives and those who did not want war, so he entered into the East's cities and rescued people" said Mero.
"I doubt that we can use that approach now" said Wura as she sighed, she did not know what to do, she needed to think.
"Mero, can you give me some time to think and find out more about this?" asked Wura.
"Of course my Queen, you can take as much time as you need" said Mero.
"Well not really Mero, a war is no joke" said Wura as she sighed.
"My Queen, do not let this stress you, the East will not make a move until we do" said Mero.
"Are you sure Mero" asked Wura.
"Very sure my Queen" said Mero as he nodded.
"Alright Mero, thank you" said Wura as she just needed some time to think, all of this was happening so quickly.
"Just take everything easy my Queen, do not let anything stress you" said Mero as Wura nodded, even though that was difficult.
