Chapter 357 - Her absence

"Please do tell me what sort of displeasure brought about this meeting?" asked Wura as everyone looked at her.

"And I would prefer it if you looked at me instead of anyone else, since this meeting is about me is it not?" asked Wura.

"Not necessarily my Queen" replied Elder Foden.

"Then please do tell me what sort of displeasure you are referring to" said Wura as she looked around the room, she could see Duke and Duchess Williams sitting in one corner, along with Duke and Duchess daisy, as well as some other people she assumed were elders and one man she believed was called baron Melvin.

"Displeasure with the way things are being done in the kingdom as of late" said Elder Foden.

"And how exactly have things been done?" asked Wura.

"For example would be the sudden instatement of your Majesty into a ruling position" said Elder Foden as Wura looked at him.

"And what about it?" asked Wura.

"We all know what we think and how we feel, we are received the letters that were sent from your office and that of his Majesty" said Elder Foden.

"Then if you saw the letters, what makes you all displeased then?" asked Wura as she assumed that everyone here thought the same way Elder Foden did, she doubted that he forced anyone here to come along with him.

"It is the fact my Queen that we are not being well informed about anything" said Elder Foden as Wura did not understand him.

"And by well informed you mean?" asked Wura.

"I mean that we are left in the dark about things that are happening, which has not been done in the past, never ever been done, we are the closest people of the King, and because of such, we always know what is going on, but as of late, we have known nothing" said Elder Foden as Wura just listened to him, she was trying to understand what he was trying to say.

"For one, as in the past few month, the Castle has been quiet, we had heard nothing from you, or from his Majesty, and when we asked, Royal Duke Nigel would give measly excuses of the both of you being busy, which I highly doubt was true" said Elder Foden.

"That had never been done before, we had always been kept well informed about what exactly was happening, what the King was doing, and what the Queen was doing" said Elder Foden as Wura could see that this was a big problem.

This was because of everything that happened, Liam falling, and getting lost, and she going to find him, if she knew that this was the sort of problem of opposition that Nigel was passing through in her absence, then she would not have left in the first place.

"We were declined to see his Majesty for the past few months, and we were aware of his absence" said Elder Foden.

"Now imagine our displeasure and outrage after all the refusal and decline we suddenly received a letter that states that his Majesty would be going on a secret peacekeeping journey to an undisclosed location, and in his stead you would take over all his duties until he returns" said Elder Foden.

"And that makes you displeased?" asked Wura as she wanted to make sure that was it.

"More than displeased, enraged, to tell the truth your Majesty, we do not believe that his Majesty went on any form of peacekeeping with any other Kingdom" said Elder Foden.

"His absence has been a worrying problem for a while now, and this better solidifies the fact that there is something that either you, or he are hiding" said Elder Foden.

"We have not seen him in many months and then he suddenly writes a letter stating he is leaving for a peacekeeping journey, and he sets you in charge of everything, that is not to be believed at all" said Elder Foden.

"Elder Foden, there is nothing that is being hid here, his Majesty truly had to leave for an urgent peacekeeping journey, and it was in the best interest of everyone and the Kingdom for him to have left me in charge" said Wura.

"That is preposterous my Queen, it makes no sense" said Elder Foden in irritation.

"Please watch your tone Elder Foden, we are not children here, we are all civilised people, and we should act like such" said Wura as she did not want things to escalate.

"Look, there is nothing going on beneath the shadows, things like this happen, and my husband would not have left me in charge if he did not believe that everything would be alright" said Wura.

"I doubt that, like I said earlier, this has never been done in the past, there has never been any secrecy between his Majesty and his closest people" said Elder Foden.

"And I tell you that there is no secrecy here, Liam did what was best for the Kingdom by going on the peacekeeping journey himself, it was a decision that had to be made" said Wura as she tried to explain calmly.

"More like a decision that you influenced" came the voice of one of the elders as the others agreed with him and Wura sighed, it would seem that none of them were ready to listen to her or what she had to say.

"I believe that you had something to do with his Majesty's decision to just leave just like that" said Elder Foden.

"You influenced him negatively" said Elder Foden.

"Excuse me, but I am not going to take that, Liam is my husband, this is his Kingdom, he cares for it, he loves his people, and I care for my husband, naturally the things that worry him worry me, and I will do whatever he needs me to do, and this is what I am doing now" said Wura as Elder Foden scoffed.

"You claim that you love your husband, but we are yet to see any proof of that my Queen" said Elder Foden.

"What is that supposed to mean?" asked Wura.

"How are we so sure that you truly love our King, after all, we do not know what goes on behind closed doors, we do not know the nature of his relationship to you" said Elder Foden as Wura frowned.

"He is my husband, that is our relationship" said Wura.

"Or so we are led to believe, how do we even know that is true, after all, his Majesty is not present to speak for himself" said Elder Foden.

"How are we sure that your marriage is a good one? We do not even know if you truly did consummate this marriage of yours" said Elder Foden as Wura kept herself calm.

"And there is yet to be any fruit of the womb, a proof of your so called thriving relationship, you and his Majesty have been married for months, and still no child" said Elder Foden.

"Wait, wait, tell me Elder Foden, and the rest of you, is this a matter of your displeasure in me for being in charge, or for a child, which is it?" asked Wura.

"it is both" replied another Elder as Wura could not believe what she was hearing right now.

"Well like you said Elder Foden, you do not know what goes on between his Majesty and I behind closed doors, and it frankly is none of your business" said Wura.

"What transpires between me and my husband behind closed doors is our business and not any of yours" said Wura.

"And as for the matter of a child, who told you all that a marriage is only happen when it has children?" asked Wura.

"That is not for you to decide, sure children can brighten up a marriage, there is no doubt about that, but the decision of having children is up to the couple in question, and not up to all your ideas and thoughts towards us" said Wura.

"If Liam and I do not have a child, that Is as a result of our choice to hold on for now, and besides, in your own words, you stated that we have only been married a few months, then why do you then demand for a child?" asked Wura as they all kept quiet.

"I for one, am not ready to be a mother, it sure is a huge responsibility, and Liam and I will bring a child into the world when we are ready, alright?" asked Wura as she wanted to clear things up.

"I take your silence as an agreement, and I do not want to hear anything about a child anymore, you all have no right to interfere in my marriage with Liam, he might be your King, but he was my husband first, good, now that is ended" said Wura.

"Now, to the actually important matter, like I said, his Majesty is busy, and he left me in charge of things till he returns" said Wura.

"How can we believe your words?" asked another Elder as Wura turned to look at him.

"After all, it is no hidden fact that you are the daughter of Duke Scot, and it is a well known fact that your mother is not from here" said the elder.

"Excuse me" said Wura.

"What is that supposed to mean?" asked Wura.

"You know what it means, your Majesty, you are not a real Wyverdanian, your mother is from the east, the same people who are trying to take over our Kingdom" said the elder as he looked at Wura.

"Tell me, how are we supposed to believe your words? How do we know that you are not actually against us and whispering wrong in our King's ears, you are a foreigner after all" said the elder as Wura scoffed.

Wura could not believe what she was hearing right now, it would seem that today was just a day for opposition, they were all here just to spite her and irritate her.

First they came to her with their ridiculous claim of displeasure, and then they moved onto asking her why she and Lian had no child, which was none of their business in the first place.

And how they were doubting her and telling her that she was not a real Wyverdanian, could they be any more petty?

"You see, she laughs because she knows the truth, her place is not here" said the elder as Wura looked at him as she decided not to shout to

"In the twenty second year reign of the late and great King Alaric of Wyverdale, he made a decree in the law of vane that states that and I quote "Every child born to a Wyverdanian mother or father with the spouse not of Wyverdanian roots, the child will be considered a Wyveradanian by birth" said Wura.

"And he goes further to state that any spouse that has been married to a Wyerdanian for more than ten years is officially a Wyverdanian by marriage, and you all know that my parents have been married for more than ten years, which means your claims of being a foreigner are false" said Wura in anger.

"I am a Wyverdanian by birth, born to a Wyverdanian father, whether you like it or not, I am a Wyverdanian, and I have as much right as you all do to be here" said Wura.

"If any of you dare, and I mean ever dare accuse me of being a foreigner, I will equate that to a trespass and you will be accused for treason against your Queen, and I doubt that any of you would want to go to the dungeon now would you?" asked Wura as they all kept quiet.

"Good, it seems that we have all reached an understanding, now I do not ever want to hear about something like this again" said Wura.

"Let this be the first and last time that you disturb me like this, the next time you want a meeting you will follow direct protocol, and I must receive a valid reason for the meeting or else I will not even consider it" said Wura.

"We are done here, if you are not happy with what happened, then keep it to yourself" said Wura as she stood up and she walked out of the room, she was not going to allow a bunch of people give her even more stress than she already had, she was done and tired.
