Liam did not like the way that Wura was treating him, she was feeding him as if he was a child, he wanted to argue with her, but once he took a look at Wura and how serious she looked, it made him want to laugh, she looked so cute when she was very serious.
Wura sighed internally in relief, Liam looked fine, he did not look like he could not move, in fact surprisingly enough, if you saw him outside, you wouldn't know that he was a man that was shot with four arrows in two very delicate places.
Wura smiled internally… she had never fed Liam before, it was funny to think that she would ever have to feed him like a child, but she did not want to risk him harming himself, he looked very, cute, if only he knew who she really was, she was so worried that he would not remember, but at the same time, she was trying to have some hope.
"Where is Darla?" asked Liam as Wura paused when she heard him mention Darla's name, he was thinking about that woman… it made her feel hurt.
Liam was wondering where Darla was, he was sure that if she was here, she would have come to see him, he knew her well, and she would have come to see him when he woke up.
"Ahh… well…" said Wura as she did not know what to say… did he miss Darla or?... she did not know what to think at this point.
"We do not know where she is, Malcom and Dothan were unable to find her, and her horse is nowhere to be found, Malcom thinks that maybe she went to another town" said Wura.
"I see" said Liam as he guessed as much, knowing Darla, she would not have left his side, she was just very nice like that.
"Yes…" said Wura as Liam did not even notice her coldness.
"Why… why did you ask about her?" asked Wura as she hesitated, but she needed to know why Liam asked about Darla, for the sake of her own sanity, she did not want to think that Liam had developed feelings for Darla unconsciously.
"Knowing Darla, if she was here, I would not have been left alone" said Liam as Wura felt a prick in her heart.
"You do not enjoy my company?" asked Wura as she avoided looking at Liam.
"No Lily, that is not it at all, I just know how protective Darla can be, I enjoy your company, you are very lovely person" said Liam as he smiled, but that did not make Wura feel any better.
"Well she was upset that Mero asked me to be the one to change your bandages, she did not want me to, she wanted to do it herself" said Wura as she replied.
"I can understand that" said Liam.
"But she cannot stand the sight of blood, and that is why I wanted to take care of you" said Wura.
"Thank you Lily" said Liam as he smiled and Wura only nodded, she did not know what to say, she still felt very bad that Liam trusted Darla more than her.
"Are you alright?" asked Liam as he noticed that Wura became a bit cold.
"I am fine, I… I have to go now, Nora is waiting for me, please do not move" said Wura as Liam was done with his soup, and she really needed to get out of here before she started crying, which was something that she did not want to do in front of Liam.
"Alright then" said Liam as he smiled and Wura nodded as she stood up quickly with the tray in her hand and she walked out of the room as Liam looked at the bandages on his abdomen, wondering how long they would stay there.
…
"My lady, did he like the soup?" asked Nora as she smiled and Wura walked into the kitchen with the tray as Wura nodded.
"My lady, what is wrong?" asked Nora as she noticed how sad Wura looked.
"Oh Nora, Liam prefers Darla than me" said Wura as she felt like crying right now.
"My lady, whatever made you have that idea?" asked Nora as she looked at Wura and she took the tray away from her.
"Well… Liam asked for Darla, and… I do not think that he wants me to be the one to take care of him" said Wura as she held back her tears, she did not want to cry, not now that she had to go back to Liam.
"My lady, did he directly say such words?" asked Nora.
"Well no… but…" said Wura as she shook her head.
"Oh my lady, you think too much, I doubt that his Majesty prefers Darla to you, I am sure that he only cares for her and nothing more, and moreover, he does not know who you are, I am sure that in his heart, his wife is the only woman for him" said Nora as Wura sighed.
"Oh Nora, you always know what to say to make me feel better" said Wura as she hugged Nora.
"My lady, it will be alright" said Nora as she trusted Liam, she doubted that he would be unfaithful to Wura, he was a man with honour and principles.
"But it is very hard you know, having to lie, having to pretend, seeing him go around in circles, it makes me… It breaks my heart Nora" said Wura as she sniffed.
"It will be alright my lady" said Nora as she smiled and Wura nodded as she broke their hug.
"Do you feel better now my lady?" asked Nora as she smiled.
"Much better Nora thank you, what would I do without you?" asked Wura as she smiled and Nora just smiled at her.
…
"Malcom, are you sure that Darla will be alright? Should we not go and look for her?" asked Dothan as he looked at Malcom.
"Dothan, you worry too much, Darla is not a child, I am sure that she will be back soon" said Malcom as he replied.
"Are you very sure?" asked Dothan as Malcom sighed and he nodded as they walked to the stables and in that same moment they heard a horse neigh behind them as they turned around to see Darla get off her horse.
"Darla, you are back!" said Dothan as he excitedly ran to Darla and he hugged her.
"Hello Dothy" said Darla as she hugged Dothan back and she smiled, at least someone missed her.
"Where did you go?" asked Malcom as Darla looked at him.
"I went to another town to get some things that would help Liam recover faster" said Darla as Dothan stopped hugging her.
"Of course" said Malcom as he knew that had to be the case, everything was about Liam for Darla, everything.
"Yes, so is he awake now?" asked Darla.
"Yes he is" said Malcom.
"I will go and see him then" said Darla as she took the leather sack on her horse in her hand as she walked away and she wasted no time at all.
"I told you Dothan, she was fine" said Malcom as he looked at Dothan.
"Malcom are you ever going to forgive Darla?" asked Dothan.
"Not until she sees the error of her ways and changes for good" said Malcom as he walked away and Dothan sighed.
…
Wura sighed as she walked back to Liam's room, she did not want him asking questions of if she was alright, so she made sure to keep all her emotions in check, after all Nora was right, she was in Liam's heart, even though he did not know it.
Wura was about to enter into Liam's room when she heard voices coming from inside the room, as she paused, she wondered who Liam was talking to, she thought that it was Mero, so she opened the door and walked into the room, but she was surprised by who she saw.
"Oh Lily, you are back" said Liam as he looked at Wura who looked at Darla with nothing but surprise.
"Ahh… yes… I am…" said Wura as she closed the door behind her.
"Darla… you… you are back" said Wura as she looked at Darla.
"Yes, I am…" said Darla as she subtly eyed Wura from head to toe, she knew that she would have been the one most happy that she had left.
"That is good… we… I mean your brothers were very worried about you, we did not know where you went to" said Wura as she spoke, she kept on telling herself to keep her emotions in check, she did not want to cause a scene here, she was keeping herself in check.
"I can imagine…" said Darla as she scoffed internally, she did not want Wura to pretend that she actually cared about her.
"Anyway, I went to a neighbouring town to get Liam some healing potions and oils" said Darla as she looked through the leather sack in her hand and she brought out three coloured glasses filled with some sort of liquid as she handed them all to Wura at once.
"In the pink vial is some scarring oil, Liam should rub it on his wounds, so that no scarring would take place" said Darla as Wura looked at the different vials in her hand.
"The green one is to stop pain, it should be applied on the new bandages before you change them" said Darla.
"And the red one is to stop burning or infection, you can apply that one directly on his wounds before your wrap them in the bandages" said Darla.
"Do you have all that or do I need to repeat it again?" asked Darla.
"Oh Ahh… I have it" said Wura as she looked up at Darla.
"Good, I will go now, Liam I will see you later" said Darla as she turned to Liam and she smiled.
"See you later Darla" said Liam as he smiled.
"Thank you for these potions Darla" said Wura as Darla looked at her.
"I did it for Liam" said Darla as she walked out of the room and Wura just stood there, feeling bad for the way that she had been thinking about Darla, she truly did care for Liam.
"You and Darla were talking?" asked Wura.
"Yes we were" said Liam as he smiled and Wura looked at him.
"She really cares about you for her to go out of her way to get these potions for you" said Wura.
"Darla is always like that, ever since I woke up here, she had been very caring towards me, she treats me like one of her brothers" said Liam as he smiled.
"I see…" said Wura.
"How do you feel?" asked Wura.
"I feel good" said Liam as he smiled and he attempted to get up.
"No do not try to get up, please do not try to get up, you are not strong enough to get up yet" said Wura as she placed the potions on the little table and she walked to Liam.
"You say it as if I am unable to walk" said Liam as he laughed.
"Well yes, you are still hurt" said Wura as she looked at Liam.
"But I feel fine" said Liam as Wura looked at his bandages they looked like they had been soaked.
"You may feel fine, but you are not fine, believe me, straining yourself will not do any good to yourself, so I beg you not to move" said Wura as she looked at Liam with worry.
"Lily, you worry too much" said Liam as he laughed.
"I worry because I care, and I do not want you to get hurt again because of me" said Wura.
"Lily, do not say that, I did not get hurt because of you, you have nothing to do with this at all" said Liam.
"But I do, I am sure that Magog was the one who sent someone to shoot you with arrows because of me, and I feel so guilty" said Wura.
"Lily, do not ever feel guilty for something that is out of your control, something that you could not have stopped, it Is not your fault, nothing is your fault" said Liam as Wura felt like crying.
"Do not ever blame yourself again, stop doing that, you are only harming yourself thinking like that" said Liam as Wura nodded.
"That is better" said Liam as he smiled and Wura sighed internally.
