Wura had been crying the entire while, she could not believe how her life could have turned out like this, it was unfair, so unfair, just what did she do to deserve this? What did she do to deserve all of this?
First she lost her husband, due to her stubbornness, she came all the way here to find him, she found him, and to her dismay he could not remember her, some other woman was trying to steal him from her, and now she was sold to giants, and betrayed, why was everything so hard for her?
"My lady, you are still crying" said Liz as she walked into the room and she saw Wura who was still sobbing silently as she looked up at her which made Liz sigh, she did not want to see her like this.
"My lady, I told you to get rid of any thoughts about escaping, you have to realize that this is your life now" said Liz.
"Is that really all you can say right now Liz? I cannot get used to this at all, it is not fair, just what did I do? Who did I offend to have to suffer so much?" asked Wura as she cried even more as she looked at Liz.
At this point, she did not even dare try to have any thoughts of trying to escape, because by now, she knew that she would never get anywhere with trying to escape.
"Yes my lady, I cannot use honey to coat my words, the sooner you get used to this new life of yours, the better it would be for you and everyone" said Liz as she lighted more candles in the room, it was very dark as the sun had already set.
"But what does that giant King want with me anyway? He has no use for me, I am not of his stature at all, he should go and find a woman his size, whom he can be with, and not me, he should let me go" said Wura as she sniffed and she dried her tears, she was just tired at this point.
"My lady, I do not know about that, but the King has a like for many women, foreign beauties, just like you, who have either been sold off or captured, he keeps them in his castle" said Liz.
"How many women does he have?" asked Wura.
"Forty nine, ten have died already" said Liz.
"Forty nine?? So, I am going to be the fiftieth woman added to his list??" asked Wura as she cried even more, this was just getting worse and worse.
"What does he even do with them anyway? It makes no sense, how can he expect them to bear children for him, are there not enough giant women for him, than for him to resort to ruining the lives of innocent women" said Wura as she cried.
"I do not know about that my lady, but he likes women, many of them, I do not know what his use for them is, whether he sleeps with them or not, I know nothing about that, but I do know that the king is smitten by you, he likes you very much" said Liz.
"Maybe it is your colour, he does not have dark skinned women as part of his wives" said Liz.
"Well that is just disgusting, he should just let me go" said Wura as she cried.
"My lady cheer up, the King even said that he would make you his Queen, it means that he really does love you, maybe you should give him a chance" said Liz.
"No, Never!, would you give him a chance Liz? Would you like to be in my place hmm? If then, I would gladly switch places with you right now" said Wura as Liz looked at her and she shook her head, of course she knew better than to want to switch places with Wura, she knew that It truly was horrible, but there was nothing else than she could do than try to get Wura to understand to come to terms with what she was faced with right now.
"Exactly, so do you not even dare tell me to try to understand and get used to this, I know my own husband, and his name is Liam, he made these rings specially for us, and he is coming for me, I know it, and Mero is coming as well, I just have to wait for them to come for me" said Wura as she wiped her tears, she knew better than to continue crying, she was sure that Liam and Mero would come for her.
"My lady, sorry to break it to you, but that would be impossible, your wedding with the King will be tomorrow at noon, the King will order all the city's gates to be closed, and he obviously would not allow your husband to come and dare ruin his wedding" said Liz as Wura felt her heart sink even more.
"He will come for me, I know that he will" said Wura.
"That is if he does not get killed first, or if the wedding has not already taken place before then" said Liz.
"My lady, you should stop talking about this, it will only make you feel worse, I have brought your dinner for you" said Liz.
"I am not eating anything! Take it away" said Wura as she shook her head, she was not going to eat any food of that giant.
"Alright my lady, whatever you say" said Liz as she sighed.
"You should go to sleep now my lady, tomorrow will be a very busy day, King Magog loves his weddings very much" said Liz as at the mention of the word weddings, Wura cried even more, she was scared, and tired and frustrated, and a little bit in doubt.
"I will leave you alone now my lady, rest well" said Liz as she gave a little bow and she walked out of the room as she closed the door and she locked it from the outside as Wura turned to the other side of the bed, she curled up herself into a ball as she cried even more.
…
Wura sniffed as she looked at her reflection in the dressing table mirror, her eyes were red and puffy, there were bags under her eyes seeing as she had cried all throughout the night, she had not slept at all, she was even surprised that she did not have a headache with the way that she cried.
Her nose was runny, her lips were dry, and she just looked so horrible right now, but nevertheless, Liz came to wake her up early in the morning, she made her take a bath and now she was brushing her hair.
Liz braided Wura's hair into a long braided ponytail, as she added a few ornaments in Wura's hair, as she moved to apply a red hue on Wura's lips as Wura looked at herself in the mirror.
Red lips, red hue on her cheeks, red ornaments, and a red dress, if she could consider the nonsense thing that she was wearing a dress.
"What is with everything being red?" asked Wura.
"Orders from the King, he loves to see you in red, he says that it brings out your colour" said Liz.
"And this, this is not a dress at all" said Wura as she looked down at herself, once again, her belly was left exposed, there was some kind of chain around her abdomen, where her wound had healed, the so called dress had slits in it that reached up to her thighs, she just felt so exposed in this, It would be better for her to be naked than have this sorry excuse of a covering on her.
"It is a dress my lady" said Liz.
"Then why is it so exposing?" asked Wura, she did want to learn how to seduce, but that was only for her husband, this was too much.
"That is how the King wants you to dress" said Liz.
"Well he is very stupid then, I have my dignity, I feel like I am being displayed wearing this, nothing is covered at all" said Wura.
"You exaggerate my lady, you could wear worse, I know of some of the King's wives who were reduced to wearing nothing on their wedding day, so he could display their natural beauty" said Liz as Wura shivered at the mere thought, those poor women had all their pride stripped away, just because of that one man.
"I want to kill him, I would kill him with my own hands if I could, he is sure a horrible man, how can he treat those women like that?" asked Wura in pure anger.
"My lady you should stop thinking about all those women and consider yourself lucky that you are not one of them, your good heart will cause you nothing but pain in this setting" said Liz.
"How can you say that Liz? Do you not have a heart?" asked Wura.
"I do not have a heart my lady, I removed it a long time ago, feelings and emotions will only get you in trouble with the giants, in this kind of life that we are living in my lady" said Liz.
"I can understand why you would think like that Liz, but if you could, would you escape?" asked Wura as she looked at Liz.
"I can never escape my lady, so no, I will not escape, I would only get caught again" said Liz as Wura sighed, she really could not try to help Liz at all, she had clouded her mind and her thinking, her thoughts had been changed to think of herself as nothing more but a captive.
"Liz, please do not think like that, things can change" said Wura.
"My lady, if you truly believe that things can change at this point, then I really do tell you that you are not wise at all" said Liz as Wura kept quiet and she sighed.
"Come on my lady, it is time for us to go to the hall now, you cannot keep the King waiting" said Liz as Wura sighed and she reluctantly stood up as she followed after Liz.
…
"Zuph, can you help me tie this?" asked Nora as she handed Zuph sack as he smiled and he tied it as he handed it back to her.
"Thank you" said Nora as she smiled and she tied it on the horse as she covered her head with a cloth only leaving space for her eyes.
"I have the wagon with me" said Darla as she walked to where they were all standing as she also had a cloth wrapped around her head.
Nora scoffed as she saw Darla, she hated the woman so much, she could not stand being near her at all, she felt like tearing her face off.
"Nora" called Mero as if he could tell what Nora was thinking.
"What?" asked Nora in anger as she turned to look at Mero, she hated the fact that he was trying to make her behave with Darla, even though she hated her to death.
"Stop thinking like that" said Mero as Nora scoffed.
"And why should I listen to you?" asked Nora as she was sick and tired of Mero's behaviour, if anything, he should have been as angry as she was with Darla, she committed a great offence by doing such a thing to the Queen of Wyverdale.
"Because I doubt that her Majesty would like the way that you are behaving right now" said Mero as he whispered and Nora took a pause.
"Well she would understand, and I am sure that she would hate this woman as well when she founds out what she has done" said Nora as Mero sighed, he never knew that Nora could be so aggressive, what happened to the gentle Nora? The calm one, who did not like speaking, the Nora right here was the complete opposite of that Nora.
"Nora, do not talk like that" said Mero.
"Just leave me alone Sir Mero, please just leave me alone, since it seems that you like that woman so much" said Nora as she walked away and Mero sighed as Liam walked up to him.
"Is she alright?" asked Liam as Mero looked at him.
"She will not be, not until we get Lily back that is, and if anything bad happens to her, Darla will be dead" said Mero as Liam could see that truly happening, Nora was very furious.
"Everything is ready" said Elihu as he walked up to where Liam and Mero were standing.
"Alright then, let us go" said Liam as he looked at Mero and Mero nodded at him as they got ready for what they were about to do.
…
"My lady smile, you look like you are being forced to do this" said Liz as she escorted Wura as they walked to a great, tall building.
"I am being forced to do this" replied Wura in frustration as she stopped and stared in awe at the giant door they had stood in front of, she had never seen a door so big in her entire life, if not for the circumstances, she would have loved to look around some more.
"But do not make it that obvious my lady, the King values the opinions of his guests, if you do not smile, you might end up being punished" said Liz as she opened a normal looking door as Wura walked through it as she followed after her.
"Let him punish me then" replied Wura as she did not care at all, for all she cared, Magog could punish her, then where would the great so called love he felt for her be?
"If he really loves me as he claims, he would have let me go, and he also would not even dare punish me, because heaven knows that I would rather die, than be forced to marry him" said Wura.
"My lady, please rethink your options, it is better to live than to die, just please, do not do anything that will get you into trouble, because I will be punished as well" said Liz as she adjusted Wura's dress and Wura sighed as she looked at Liz who walked to open a door ahead of her.
"You are not coming in with me?" asked Wura.
"No my lady, I am not allowed to, good luck, and please accept your situation" said Liz as Wura just sighed as she walked past her into a hall with many seats as she could see many giants sitting down as at the end of the hall was Magog, standing there, with a smile that made Wura feel very disgusted.
Wura stopped moving, she did not dare take another step further, she was sure that Liam and the others would come for her, she was scared that maybe it would be too late, maybe they would arrive late, and she would forever remain held captive by this man, this sorry excuse for a being.
"Come on my dear, come here" said Magog as he smiled waiting for Wura to approach him.
"No!" replied Wura as she made up her mind, she was not going to do this at all, and her reply in turn received gasps from the other giants in the room.
The smile on Magog's face faltered as he had never been embarrassed by this before.
"I am not going to marry you! I told you I am already married, in case you did not hear me, I do not belong to you, neither do I belong to any one else, just leave me alone, let me go!!" shouted Wura at the top of her lungs as the anger on Magog's face was evident, he walked over to her as he had never been embarrassed like this in front of his people before.
"Now listen here and listen well you little being, I do not have the temperament for your little tantrum, now you claim that you have a husband, just, where is he? He has not even tried to rescue you even once, and believe me I would know, I have no news of him attempting to come to rescue you, so shut up about that blasted husband of yours, I am your husband now, do not test my patience" said Magog as he raised his voice and it echoed in the large hall as Wura flinched.
"Now it is either you agree and marry me, or I snap your head off, chose one, I can go either way, I only need your body after all" said Magog as Wura looked at him with so much hate, so much disgust, she felt like killing him with her hands.
"You silence is a choice, good" said Magog as he walked back to the end of the hall.
"Now, walk over to me like a good little bride" said Magog as he smiled and Wura reluctantly took heavy, slow steps towards him, she felt like crying right now, but she would not allow Magog the pleasure of seeing her tears.
"Good" said Magog as he smiled and Wura stood beside him.
"Gomer, get on with the stupid ceremony" said Magog as he turned to the giant in front of them as the giant nodded and he started to read something.
Wura could not take this at all, she felt like killing herself right here right then, but she knew that Magog was such a barbarian that he would have his way with her body, no she would not allow that, not at all.
In the midst of Wura's thoughts, she was suddenly snapped out of them once she heard the ear piercing sound of shattering glass as out of instinct, she covered her ears with her hands quickly.
