Liam was deep in his own thoughts, he was trying to remember, but he just could not, he did not know why he was able to handle Mero's sword so skilfully, as far as he knew, he did not know that he could use a sword like that, to him it was like he had never used one before.
But with his sudden reaction back there, it was clear that he knew what he was doing, what came over him then was a wave of instinct, and he knew just what to do, it made him wonder of who he was before he lost his memories, he was trying so hard to remember.
So far the only thing that he had saw in his dreams were his wife, her and nothing else, he did not know who he was, or what he did, and that made him more frustrated, which was why he was eager to get to the first city so at least all his questions would be answered.
"Liam are you alright?" asked Darla as she snapped Liam out of his thoughts and he turned to look at her as she could see that he seemed to be very serious.
"I am fine" replied Liam plainly.
"Are you sure Liam? You do not look fine" said Darla.
"I am fine Darla… I am just thinking… back there… when Mero gave him his sword, I held it out of instinct, as if I knew what I was doing" said Liam as Darla looked at him.
"But we were in a moment of danger, you can do anything when the right situation arises" said Darla as Liam shook his head.
"No, that was not the case Darla not at all, when I tell you that as I held the sword, I felt a sense of familiarity, as if I had held it many time before, as if I had done more than hold it, but wield it as well" replied Liam as Darla just looked at him.
"What are you trying to say Liam?" asked Darla.
"I think that I used to be a knight… or something that requires me to be so skilled with a sword" replied Liam as they rode ahead of the others.
"You are regaining your memories?" asked Darla with a hint of sadness that she tried to hide.
"No, I am not regaining them, or at least not yet, but what I know is that, wielding a sword comes naturally to me" said Liam.
"I see" said Darla with a hint of relief, it was not like she did not want Liam to regain his memories, but once he did, he would leave and return to his love, and that would hurt Darla so much, so very much.
"Yes" said Liam as they kept on riding ahead, meanwhile Wura was deep in her own thoughts as well, there was something about the beast that she did not quite understand.
The thing was that it had attacked them once, but when Darla and the boys rode away, the beast descended, and stood still right in the midst of them, and it was staring right at her, and yet it did not try to harm her at all, as if it could not see her, that baffled Wura.
She could tell that there was something very important here, it could be a possibility that the beast did not see humans, but then if that was the case, then why did it go for Darla and the boys, were they not human as well??
It was then that Wura's mind went to the other day when Malcom and Dothan had asked her what sort of being she was, at the time, she had thought that that was a weird question, but now that she thought about it, she had assumed that they were all human, since they looked like they were, but she doubted that was the case now.
"Lily, what are you thinking about?" asked Dothan as he and Malcom rode beside Wura as she snapped out of her thoughts and she turned to look at them.
"Nothing" replied Wura as she smiled.
"Oh well alright then" said Dothan as he smiled.
"Boys" called Wura as Malcom and Dothan both looked at her.
"Yes?" asked Malcom and Dothan as they both replied in a chorus.
"The other day, you asked me what kind of being I was, and I said that I was a human" said Wura.
"Yes…" said Malcom as he waited for her to go on.
"Then what sort of beings are you, if you do not mind me asking?" asked Wura as she looked at the both of them.
"No, we do not mind at all" said Dothan as he smiled and Malcom agreed with him.
"We are actually werewolves" replied Malcom with a smile.
"Werewolves?" asked Wura as she was taken aback.
"Yes werewolves, have you never heard of them?" asked Dothan as Wura shook her head.
"Well we are mystical beings, we have fangs and eyes that see in the darkness, and we can also turn into our wolf forms, in which we become wolves on a full moon" said Dothan as he explained and Wura did not know if she could believe this, but here they were in the Yonder Realm, so of course anything was possible over here.
"I see, but you do not have fangs" said Wura as Malcom smiled at her.
"That is because we are half-breeds" said Malcom.
"Half-breeds?" asked Wura in curiosity.
"Well yes…" said Dothan as he looked ahead and he saw that Darla was busy talking to Liam so he started to whisper.
"We are not full breed werewolves, I am whispering because Darla does not like it when we talk about this, she gets angry" said Dothan as he whispered and Wura nodded her head.
"Our mother was a werewolf, but our father, we never knew him, he was a witch, we never knew him" said Dothan.
"So because of that, we are not full werewolves, we cannot transform into our wolf form, and because of that, we were thrown out of our pack, ever since then, we have lived on our own, and Darla tries her best to take care of us" said Dothan as he explained.
"We live in the outskirts, were it is peaceful, if not for Liam showing up, we would have probably never moved from there at all" said Dothan.
"Oh, I see…" said Wura.
"Yes, so Lily, please do not tell any of this to Darla, she will know that we told you, and she will be angry with us" said Malcom as Wura smiled at him.
"You do not have to worry, your secret is safe with me, I will say nothing at all" said Wura as she smiled.
"Thank you Lily" said Dothan as he smiled.
"You are welcome" said Wura with a smile as in that same moment Darla's voice rang in all their ears.
"What are you boys doing over there? Come over here right now" said Darla as she noticed her brothers were talking to Lily again, and she did not like that at all, she did not know what they liked so much about her, she was not that pretty.
"Coming Darla" said Malcom and Dothan in a chorus.
"See you later Lily" said Dothan as he waved at Wura with a smile.
"See you" said Wura as she smiled back at him and she waved at him as they rode ahead to join Darla and Liam ahead as Wura was left to think on her own once again.
…
"Are you sure that it is safe for us to stop, after all, those beasts might come back again and this time catch us unaware" said Elihu as he looked at Darla as she got down from her horse.
"Well yes, we are safe, we have gone very far away from where those beasts leave, and they do not go out of their home most times" said Darla as she looked at Elihu.
"And this Is enough confirmation, most times does not mean that they will not come" said Elihu.
"I say that they will not come, and if I say so, then you should stop saying otherwise" said Darla as she frowned at Elihu, just who did he think that he was to ask her unnecessary questions such as this?
"And who are you to know so much?" asked Elihu as Darla growled at him like a wolf which caught him off guard.
"Elihu, stop that, and come over here" said Mero as he called Elihu back, he did not want things to get out of hand, he did not want any trouble.
Elihu grunted as he reluctantly turned around and he walked over to Mero, even though this was not over between he and Darla at all.
"What a self entitled man" said Darla as she grunted and Liam just laughed at her.
"Elihu, you need to be careful here, we are not back in the Kingdom where you can do or say whatever you want" said Mero as he gave Elihu a warning.
"How do you expect me not to ask any questions when we might be putting ourselves in danger by staying here, do you not see how things can easily turn sour if during the night those creatures find us?" asked Elihu.
"I understand you concern, but it is better that we trust the words of someone who is natural to this place, she might know what she is saying" said Mero.
"And if she does not?" asked Elihu.
"Just do not cause any trouble Elihu, I beg you, we already have enough problems as it is" said Mero as Elihu scoffed.
"Fine Mero, fine, I will do as you say, but only this one time" said Elihu as Mero just sighed as he shook his head.
