Song Recommendation
Togetherless- Franz Gordon
"Ahh…" said Wura.
"Yes… yes I am married" replied Wura as she looked at the rings on her finger and then at Liam, she could see him looking at her finger, especially at her rings, their rings? Did he remember them? The mere thought made Wura's heart jump as she saw Liam open his mouth to speak.
"You wear two rings?" asked Liam in confuse as Wura felt disappointment, she had expected him to at least say that the rings looks familiar, after all, he was the one who had designed them and asked for the blacksmith to make them, she remembered the day that they went to the blacksmiths like it was yesterday, and yet he could not remember at all, she felt pained.
"Ahh… well no… not usually, but yes…" replied Wura as she nodded her head.
"Why?" asked Liam in light confusion.
"Well…" said Wura as she felt like crying having to explain why she decided to start wearing two rings.
"It is alright if you do not want to tell me, I understand" said Liam as Wura just looked at him.
"No it's is fine, I want to tell you" said Wura as she smiled.
"You see… this ring… the one with the ruby, is mine, it is my wedding ring" said Wura as she pointed to her finger and Liam looked at it.
"And this second one… it belongs to my… to my husband" said Wura as she swallowed deeply, explaining to her husband, she felt like crying, she was showing him their rings and he could not remember them at all.
"I wear both because… I feel guilty" said Wura.
"Guilty for what?" asked Liam as he looked at Wura.
"Well I rejected him as my husband for a long time, shutting myself away from him… but he still loved me regardless, and then… he saved me… the reason that I lost him, was because he saved me, even though I should have just listened to him, I should have stayed where he asked me to stay, but I did not… and because of that, he is lost" said Wura as she did not want to cry.
"I guess the main reason I wear it is to remind myself of him…" said Wura.
"He once gave me his ring… because he was waiting for me… he told me that when I was ready to come to terms with our reality, then I could give him back his ring" said Wura.
"But I never had the chance to… because it would seem that when everything was finally becoming perfect, it all broke into pieces" said Wura as she twirled the ring on her finger, she felt so guilty, guilty for how oblivious Liam was to all their memories right now.
"Which is why I am here… I am going to find him, and when I do… I will give him the tightest hug and kiss, and ask him to forgive me… because I missed him so much, and all I want is for him to come back to me" said Wura as she looked at Liam and Liam looked at her.
"You seem to love your husband very much" said Liam as he smiled.
"Yes, of course I do… he is my husband" replied Wura.
"He… he stole my heart without me even realizing it…" said Wura as she smiled and Liam's eyes held hers as she was searching for some form of recognition, but she could see none at all.
"With his sweet words… his wonderful smile… and his love for me, even though I did not deserve it" replied Wura as she did not like Liam looking at her like that, not when he could not remember, it was hurting her even more than when she did not know where he was.
Because now she knew, but he did not know her.
"Your husband sounds like a worthy man" replied Liam with a smile.
"Oh, he is, a very worthy man, a great leader born with the ability to care and lead others, and also just a wonderful person" replied Wura with a smile as Liam smiled at her.
"Looking back now… I regret not loving him sooner…" said Wura.
"Because now that I have lost him, I realize, that I love him more than he could ever know" said Wura.
"Like the saying goes, you never know what you love until you lose it" replied Wura with a sad smile.
"Cheer up, you will find him, I am sure that you will" replied Liam as Wura smiled, she already had him, and he was right here.
"You will find your husband, and I will find my wife" replied Liam with a smile as the smile on Wura's face faltered, because she was right here, and yet he was dreaming of another woman, she was sure that his dreams were being manipulated, but the question was by who?
"Yes…" replied Wura as she looked away.
"Lily" called Liam as Wura turned to look at him.
"Yes" said Wura.
"On the day that we met, you hugged me, and called mistook me for your husband" said Liam as Wura held her breath, Liam had been curious about this for a while, and Wura was already dreading this question, she knew that she would not be able to explain herself.
"Do I look like your husband?" asked Liam very carefully as Wura did not know what to say, because the answer was yes, yes he did look like her husband, because he was her husband, but she could not tell him that at all, and she did not want to have to lie to him, but yes… she would have to, the question was how would she explain herself in the future when he finally remembered her… oh Wura was stuck in a dilemma, a very big one, she did not know what to do at all.
"Lily?" called Liam as he could see that Wura had gone into her thoughts as he snapped her out of them.
"Ahh, yes?" asked Wura as she snapped out of her thoughts.
"I asked if I looked like your husband?" asked Liam as in the same moment Wura began to play with the loose strands of her hair, she was stressed right now, so stressed, she did not want to lie.
"Ahhh… well yes… in a way, I mean the resemblance is there… he has the same hair colour as you, but your eye colour is different" said Wura as she did not lie, Liam had brown eyes, and not eyes with yellow hues in them.
"And well, he is the same height as you, I am sorry for mistaking you for him that day…" said Wura as Liam noticed her playing with the loose strands of her hair, was she uncomfortable, he did not know, but he did not want her to be uncomfortable.
"It is alright" replied Liam as Wura sighed in relief, he seemed to believe her, and he did not ask her any other questions.
"On that day… you called me Liam as well, is the name of your husband Liam?" asked Liam as Wura felt like she would get a heart attack right now, his questions were getting to personal, so much so that she felt like if he kept on going, she would end up spewing out everything regardless of what her mind said.
"Umm…" said Wura as now she was really stuck, yes, his name was Liam, because he was him, Wura was very stuck, she avoided eye contact with Liam because she felt like she was crack under his gaze, he always had that kind of effect on her, and she had never been able to overcome that.
But right now, Wura was thinking, thinking very carefully, because the answer she would give to him, would determine how things would go from here on out.
"Well yes… his middle name is Liam… I call him Liam" said Wura as she replied and she lied through her teeth as she bit her tongue.
"What a coincidence" said Liam as he smiled.
"Yes" replied Wura as she nodded her head, she could not believe that she had just lied to him, but it was for his own good, and for hers as well.
"So what is your husband's actual name?" asked Liam as Wura did not want to answer this question.
"The sun rise" said Wura as she turned to look at the horizon and Liam turned to look at it as well, as the mighty sun rose from the horizon as it shined very brightly, and in the same moment, the magical moment ended as the sun moved to its place in the bright early morning sky.
"Beautiful" said Liam as he smiled and Wura smiled at him, he always loved the sun rise, and she loved watching it with him, even though they had only watched it together once, but now, here they were, together, watching it together once again with him, it made her happy.
"Yes, very beautiful" said Wura as she smiled and Liam turned to look at her as he smiled at her and she smiled at him.
"Well I think that we should go and wake up the others now" said Liam.
"Ahhh… yes" said Wura as she nodded her head and Liam jumped down from the rock as he landed on his feet and he stretched out his hand to Wura as Wura felt many memories flooding back, he always did that when he wanted to help her down, and she always loved it when he did that.
Wura smiled as she took his hand and he helped her down and she smiled at him.
"Thank you" said Wura as she smiled and Liam smiled at her as he let go of her hand and Wura felt a sense of emptiness without the warmth of his hand holding hers.
Liam walked back to where the others were as Wura followed behind him and Liam saw Darla who was already awake.
"Good Morning Liam" said Darla as she saw Liam and she waved at him.
"Good Morning Darla" said Liam as he smiled at her but the smile of Darla's face disappeared once she saw Wura standing right behind Liam, she was angry, just what did this woman named Lily think that she was doing with Liam? Darla did not like her at all.
"What is she doing here?" asked Darla as she looked at Wura in contempt.
"She woke up early, and we watched the sun set together" said Liam as he smiled and he looked at Wura as she did not smile, not with the way Darla was looking at her.
Darla scoffed as she knew that this woman was just trying to subtly make her way into Liam's eyesight as she was trying to get his attention.
"Good Morning Darla" said Wura with a friendly smile as Wura knew that she had been unfair to Darla for unjustly seeing her in a bad light when all she had done was take care of her husband for her, she knew that she had to apologize.
Darla just scoffed as she looked at Wura, she did not reply to her greeting at all as she just looked at her, knowing what she was planning on the inside.
"The others should wake up, we should be well on our way by now" said Darla as she walked away and Wura just looked at her.
"Do not worry about her Lily, she is just like that, but she is a very good person once you get to know her" said Liam as he smiled.
"I see" said Wura as she replied and she nodded her head, well she would just have to find a way for her to apologize to Darla and thank her, for taking care of Liam.
"Yes, let us go and wake up the others" said Liam as Wura nodded her head.
…
"Mero" called Wura as she whispered to get Mero's attention as they rode behind everyone else, Wura had made sure to put some distance between she and the others as they rode ahead.
"What is It my Queen?" asked Mero as he turned to look at Wura as she beckoned for him to come closer and he did so as their horse rode close together.
"Mero, I spoke to Liam alone this morning" said Wura.
"You did?" asked Mero as Wura nodded her head.
"He told me that he just woke up, with no recollection of who he was, or where he was, he only knew that his name was Liam, and also that Darla and her brothers, were the ones who took him in and helped him" said Wura as she whispered.
"If that is the case, then it means that when Liam fell into the portal, he lost his memories at that same moment" said Mero as he whispered back.
"Yes, I thought so too Mero" said Wura.
"And his inability not to remember is alarming, he does not even recognize his own ring, he said that he sees the images of his wife in his dreams" said Wura.
"Then who is that woman that he sees?" asked Mero.
"I do not know Mero, but it would seem that his dreams are being manipulated" said Wura.
"By who my Queen?" asked Mero.
"That is what I do not know Mero" replied Wura.
"My Queen, I believe that Elysia is behind this" said Mero.
"How do you mean?" asked Wura.
"Well she happened to leave out the part that Liam had lost his memories" said Mero.
"Maybe she did not know Mero" said Wura.
"But she seemed to know everything, and yet she said nothing about this, my Queen, please try to think, I doubt that Elysia was as innocent and as helpful as you thought" said Mero as Wura kept quiet she knew that he was right, but she did not want to believe me.
"Liam asked my about my husband" said Wura.
"And what did you say my Queen?" asked Mero.
"I did not say much… but I realize that I have to get Liam to remember, some way some how, because he is on this journey to find his so called wife" said Wura as she scoffed as in that same moment, a loud ear piercing sound that sounded like a roar made all of them scared as their horses all neighed and they halted.
"What was that?" asked Elihu as he could not understand as he looked at Darla who had signalled for them to stop.
"Beasts" replied Darla as in the same moment something the sound came again as they could hear it coming from the air as wind began to blow, but it was not a natural wind, but rather caused by something hovering above them as they all looked up in nothing but horror.
