"Wura dear, thank you, the hem looks wonderful!" said Tessa as she smiled brightly at Wura.
"Oh you are welcome Aunt, there is no need to thank me at all, it is my duty as her cousin" said Wura as she smiled.
"Oh my dear" said Tessa as she smiled, Wura was really the daughter of her mother, Tessa had never met a woman as industrious as Ireti, not only could she cook, clean, and sew, but she was a great mother too, and Wura had made sure to learn from her mother.
Tessa was more than happy to call Ireti her sister in law, she truly was lucky, she had a very loving, but serious brother, a wonderful sister in law, a beautiful and king niece, and finally a loving husband, and not to forget her baby girl that was on her way.
"Aunt can I asked you a question??" asked Wura as she looked at Tessa as she sat down on her bed.
"Sure my dear, you do not even need to ask" said Tessa as she smiled and she sat down right across Wura and Wura smiled.
"Aunt how old were you when you began to think on marriage?" asked Wura as she looked at Tessa.
"Well my dear, what an odd question" said Tessa as she smiled.
"But I must say that I was a wild horse that did not want to be tamed" said Tessa as she laughed and Wura laughed too.
"Even when I turned eighteen and my mother began to urge me to choose a suitable husband, I refused" said Tessa as she laughed.
"Let me tell you this my dear" said Tessa.
"My mother, your grandmother, arranged many men for me to meet, she was very aggressive with her plans for me to marry" said Tessa as she laughed.
"And what did you do Aunt?" asked Wura.
"Well I did the only thing reasonable..." said Tessa.
"Which was??" asked Wura.
"Which was to chase all those men away one by one" said Tessa as she laughed.
"Sometimes all I had to do was speak vulgarly, but for men that were stubborn and bent on marrying me, I would go physical" said Tessa.
"Dear niece of mine, I may, or may not have once poured cow dung on the seat of a man that wanted to court me" said Tessa as she laughed.
"Aunt!!" said Wura as she could not believe what she was hearing right now, she knew that her Aunt was a very stubborn woman, but cow dung??? That was just too much.
"Oh do not look at me like that dear" said Tessa as she laughed at Wura's expression.
"It was all necessary" said Tessa.
"That man in particular was very stubborn, he was bent on chasing me, even though I rejected him over, and over, and over again, he was just too bull-headed to admit defeat" said Tessa.
"And that was why you resorted to cow dung aunt??" asked Wura as she laughed.
"Well yes, you see, my mother had selfishly invited him to the house to have lunch with us, and it happened to be a very nice day, so my mother suggested that we eat out in the garden which we did, and luckily for me it was the perfect time to plant the cow dung" said Tessa.
"The man was so haughty that he paid no attention to the smell at all, and he ended up sitting down on the cow dung" said Tessa as she laughed.
"He was beyond embarrassed, he went back home like that, with his pants turned brown, he should not have wore white pants that day" said Tessa as she could not control herself and she laughed even more.
"Oh Aunt" said Wura as she laughed, her Aunt was something else entirely.
"That was the last day that man stepped into this house" said Tessa.
"And Grandmother let you go scot free??" asked Wura as she laughed.
"Oh no my dear, she did not, I did get my freedom from that man, but at the expense of being scolded by my mother and your father, they both were not pleased at all with my behavior" said Tessa.
"And of course my mother complained and went on and on to my brother, because he was her favorite child, since he always listened to her, all except for once" said Tessa as she laughed.
"I felt no guilt at all, the only one I felt bad for was my dear Ireti, she was angry at me, since she was the one that had to clean up the mess that I had created" said Tessa as she smiled.
"Awww my poor mother" said Wura as she laughed, she could just imagine the upset look on her mother's face.
"Till this day, if you say cow dung right next to your mother, she will immediately remember that horrible day" said Tessa as she laughed.
"I would rather stay safe Aunt" said Wura as she laughed.
"I do not blame you dear niece of mine" said Tessa as she laughed, this was one of the things that her mother never forgave her for even until she died.
Tessa was sure that her mother always wondered if she had carried another baby, but as much as she would have loved to believe that Tessa looked too much like her father, they both looked very alike.
While Lawrence was the favourite of her mother, she was the favourite of their father, and it was very funny, seeing as they had opposing behaviours.
"Oh but my dear, it was not until your dear Uncle came into my life that I finally stopped playing tricks" said Tessa.
"He stole my heart with his sweet words, and his smile, and his love" said Tessa as she smiled.
"Wait Aunt, you said sweet words??" asked Wura and Tessa nodded.
"But uncle barely says a few words" said Wura.
"Oh my dear, do not let him fool you, back in his days, he was a sweet talker, the sweetest I have ever met" said Tessa as she laughed.
"He could say one word, and you would become weak in the knees" said Tessa.
"Of course I did not give him the satisfaction of seeing me weak, so I always held myself high" said Tessa proudly.
Wura laughed, it seemed that Pride ran in her family, all the women in her family were very proud.
"Aunt have you ever felt like you were making the wrong choice??" asked Wura as she looked at Tessa.
"My dear, in true love there is no such thing as the wrong choice" said Tessa.
"And even if there is, your love should be able to keep you sustained" said Tessa.
"My dear, I cannot lie to you, and say that I was sure that I was making the right choice with you uncle" said Tessa.
"I had doubts just like any other human being, but I pushed through those doubts... because I love Richard, and I always will" said Tessa as she smiled and Wura smiled too.
"Thank you Aunt" said Wura.
"You are welcome dear, now tell me, are you falling for the Prince??" asked Tessa as she winked.
"What??? No... No Aunt I am not" said Wura as she denied quickly, she was just rethinking that maybe he was not such a bad person after all, and she was getting used to accepting the fact that she would be his wife soon.
"Ahh my dear... if you say so" said Tessa as she smiled suggestively
"Oh Aunt" said Wura as she sighed and she laughed.
"Sorry to disturb you, but there is a letter for you Wura" said Alessia as she walked into Wura's room as her door was left wide open.
"That is alright" said Wura as Alessia gave her the letter and she opened it and Alessia left.
"What is it my dear?" asked Tessa as she looked at Wura.
"It is a letter from the prince" said Wura as she finished reading the letter.
"He says that he accepts my invitation to have dinner with us, but unfortunately he cannot do so as soon as he would have liked to" said Wura
"He says that he would be able to honour our invitation of dinner in three days time, and from there we can both go to the Castle together" said Wura.
"Well at least he is polite, so my dear, I will pardon him" said Tessa as she laughed and Wura smiled.
She had not expected him to reply so quickly, she thought that it would be at least tomorrow before she would have received his reply, but it would seem that he liked to prove her wrong.
"Wura, come and help me prepare dinner" said Ireti as she wore an apron.
"I am coming mother" said Wura as she stood up from her bed.
"I will see you later Aunt" said Wura as she turned to look at Tessa as she smiled.
"See you later my dear, and make sure that everything you prepare is delicious" said Tessa as she laughed.
"Of course I will Aunt" said Wura as she laughed and she walked away smiling.
