"So my dear, how is the little dress coming along?" asked Tessa as she sat right across Wura as Wura and her were sewing.
Wura had to admit that sewing was very relaxing, not only did she get to focus on something other than her problems, she also got to use her hands, which was something she liked doing.
"It is going fine Aunt" said Wura as she smiled, she still wondered how Tessa was very sure that her baby was going to be a girl, it would be a pity if she was wrong, because all these clothes they were sewing would go to waste.
"Aunt how are you sure that my little cousin would be a girl??" asked Wura as she looked up.
"Well my dear, I feel it, deep within my soul, the baby is going to be a girl" said Tessa as she smiled and she held her stomach.
"Well okay if you say so Aunt" said Wura as she laughed, she had almost pricked herself with the needle.
"So do you have a name for my little cousin yet??" asked Wura as she laughed.
"No... not yet" said Tessa as she seemed to be working on something that resembled a skirt, but it was hard to tell because Tessa's skirt look more like a coat, and not a good coat.
"Me and Richie are still deciding" said Tessa as she smiled.
"Well you still have a lot of time to decide, my little cousin is going to take her sweet time" said Wura as she laughed.
"That she is" said Tessa as she laughed.
"Although she has been very quiet lately" said Tessa.
"But do not worry she is alright, the Physician said that there is nothing to worry about, she is perfectly fine" said Tessa as she quickly said that as she saw the worried look on Wura's face.
"Oh thank the heavens" said Wura as she smiled and Tessa smiled as well.
"So my dear, how was the ball??" asked Tessa as she looked at Wura.
"It was good Aunt" said Wura as she said nothing more and nothing else, she could not possibly tell her that she hated every single second for it, and she was sure that it would have been worse if not that Mero, Zechariah, Zuph, and Luc were there, except for Elihu, Wura did not count Elihu a worthy person to be around, he was just simply too rude, and it seemed that he was always ready to have a fight every single time they had the horrible pleasure of meeting.
"Oh really??" asked Tessa and Wura nodded.
"So it was good and nothing more??" asked Tessa and Wura also nodded, she did not know what her Aunt wanted her to say??
"I also happened to see Rosie there" said Wura.
"Which Rosie??" asked Tessa.
"Do you mean Rosie Williams???" asked Tessa.
"Daughter of Duke and Duchess Williams??" asked Tessa as she wanted to be sure.
"Yes Aunt that Rosie" said Wura as she nodded.
"Ahh I see, sorry for that my dear" said Tessa.
"I often confuse mother and daughter, and it does not help since they bear the same name" said Tessa as she laughed.
"That is alright Aunt" said Wura as she laughed, she often got confused too, both mother and daughter bore the name Rosie, and when referring to the other, it was best to be specific.
"So how is Rosie?? I have not seen her in a while, and her mother too" said Tessa.
"Well she seems fine" said Wura, in fact she was perfectly fine to the point that she wanted to pour wine on Wura, and on top of that, she was well enough to frown extremely, and show her sure dissatisfaction.
"That is good" said Tessa.
"Although I do say that I do not like her at all, she can be such a brat" said Tessa as she laughed.
"Aunt!!" said Wura as she could not believe what her Aunt just said.
"What?? it is the truth after all" said Tessa as she laughed, sure it was the truth, and Wura thought the exact same thing, but she would never just speak her thoughts out loud like that.
"Oh my dear, sometimes you just need to call people what they actually are, and in Rosie's case, she is a brat" said Tessa as she laughed.
"She is as spoilt as cheese" said Tessa.
"Aunt, I do think so too" said Wura.
"But as much as I would like to say so, I just cannot, well not in the manner you appear so calm about saying such" said Wura.
"Well my dear, it is the privilege of being older" said Tessa as she chuckled and Wura laughed, she wondered what sort of Grandmother Tessa would be, she would be a very wild one for that matter.
"Well Aunt, Rosie did not seem too pleased with the prince's announcement of our engagement" said Wura as she finished the hem of the tiny dress she was sewing out of yellow cotton material.
"Oh do not pay any attention to her my dear" said Tessa.
"No matter where you go in this world there will always be people who look down on your abilities and who believe that they deserve what you have" said Tessa.
"There is no need for you to pay attention to her, all of you had an equal chance, and in the end the Prince choose you, so I do not see why she would behave as if you stole her husband" said Tessa as she was very open.
"Aunt you really dislike her attitude" said Wura as she laughed.
"Of course I do my dear, I have had my fair share of women who believed that I stole Richie from them, when in reality he never said such to them" said Tessa.
"Haha Aunt" said Wura as she laughed.
"But I showed those women, I showed them all, just look at the ring on my finger and my belly and it is easy to tell who won" said Tessa proudly as she pointed at the gold ring on her finger and she pointed at her growing belly.
"Aunt I am sure you really did show them" said Wura as she laughed, her Aunt was someone who was brutally honest and on top of that, she had a great sense of humor.
"Of course I did" said Tessa as she smiled.
"You just have to do the same thing with Rosie, she should know her place, regardless of whether or not you two are acquaintances" said Tessa.
"Yes Aunt" said Wura as she nodded, even though she was going to do nothing of that sort, Tessa and Richard loved each other, whereas she and Liam did not, so it was different, she was not going to claim him at all.
...
"My Lady, Master Lawrence, his Highness is outside, he asks to see you both" said Alessia as she entered
"Let him in" said Lawrence as he and Ireti looked at each other.
"Alright then" said Alessia as she bowed she left Lawrence's study, and a few minutes later Liam walked in.
"Good Noon Duke and Duchess Scot" said Liam as he entered Lawrence's study.
"Good Noon your highness" said Ireti and Lawrence at the same time, they were getting used to seeing Liam in their home almost everyday, he was their soon to be son in law anyway.
"Please have a seat" said Lawrence.
"Thank you" said Liam as he sat down.
"To what do I owe this very wonderful visit of your your highness??" asked Lawrence as he smiled.
"Well I am here to conclude on the matter we discussed last time I visited" said Liam as he smiled.
"Duchess Scot, are you aware of the matter??" asked Liam as he turned to look at Ireti
"Yes... I am, Lawrence had informed me on the matter" said Ireti as she turned to look at Lawrence.
"Lawrence?? what a peculiar way to call someone by" thought Liam to himself, the Scots were naturally peculiar people, if it was any other Duke and Duchess they would always refer to each other with titles, but not the Scots, they referred to each other with their first names.
"That is good" said Liam as he did not want there to be any misunderstandings.
"I am here because I have fulfilled the requirements that Duke Scot granted me on the issue of Lady Diwura's bride price" said Liam.
"The heifer is outside as we speak, I could not possibly bring it inside" said Liam as he laughed and Lawrence laughed as well.
"I appreciate your seriousness your highness" said Lawrence as he smiled, as much as he did not want to let his Wura go, he was sure that she was she was going to be in safe hands.
"We both do" said Lawrence as he turned to look at Ireti and he held her hand and he smiled and she smiled too.
"I am glad that you do" said Liam as he smiled, he had never seen a couple so affectious with one another, Liam felt something that he never thought he would.
