"Tell me Lady Diwura" said Liam as he helped Wura into the carriage that he had prepared for her.
"Why do you want to marry me??" he asked.
Wura adjusted her seating position and she behaved as if she was very busy in doing so as Liam watched her and waited for her response, while she was buying time.
Why was she actually marrying him??? now it was because she could not turn back, and she was now stuck with him for the sake of her family, and the sake of her entire reputation in the Kingdom.
But of course she could not tell him all that, that was the same as admitting defeat, so she decided to play her best role yet, which was the one of a proud, haughty woman.
Liam just stood there, watching Wura obviously but time to think of a suitable answer, to which he just found funny, she could not be serious if she thought that she did not look the slightest bit suspicious with the way she was readjusting her position everyone five seconds or so.
"Well your highness is it not obvious??" asked Wura as she opened her eyes and she looked at Liam.
"Oh it is??" asked Liam as he was expectant to what Wura would say to justify herself this time.
"Of course it is" said Wura with pride.
"Oh, so do please tell me the reason, you are marrying me" said Liam as he smiled.
"It is because I am a rare gem, and you are more than lucky to have me" she said as she raised her head up high.
Liam chuckled, she was really taking her role as not an easy woman very seriously, and in a way she was right, but that was not the only reason, it was also because of her confidence, she never once appeared to be afraid to speak, she always said what was on her mind, and Liam liked that about her.
"You really do seem confident" said Liam as he laughed.
"Of course I do that is because I am" said Wura proudly.
Wura shivered she was getting cold, even though she had picked up her coat and he gloves before she came out here, it was still cold, and it was starting to slow lightly.
Liam noticed that Wura was shivering a bit, and he concluded that this was the end of their conversation, he would see her another time, but for now she had to go home, before she caught a cold.
"Well Lady Diwura, the night is no longer young, and I shall be sending you home now" said Liam as he closed the carriage door and he looked at Wura through the carriage window.
"I hope you have a good night" said Liam as he smiled.
"And the same to you your highness" said Wura as Liam gestured that the coachman start driving to which he obliged and he began to drive and the carriage moved.
Wura rubbed her hands together as she sighed, being a woman was hard, especially now more than ever.
"Liam" called Mero as he saw Liam walking back into the castle.
"What is it Mero?" asked Liam as he turned back to look at Mero who was standing behind him.
"What happened earlier, that made you rush out of the ballroom so quickly??" asked Mero.
"Where are the others?" asked Liam as he did not answer Mero's question.
"They left the ball early and they went to the training grounds" said Mero.
"I see" said Liam.
"Liam still have not answered my question" said Mero.
"I cannot answer it here, it is too dangerous" said Liam as he looked around as if someone could be hearing them right now.
"Come to my office and we can discuss there" said Liam.
"Alright" said Mero as he nodded, he knew that the matter was probably very serious and Liam could not just discuss it anywhere.
"I will see you later" said Liam as he walked away he walked into the Castle and he took a shortcut that landed him with a path of stairs which he climbed up on quickly, Liam knew this Castle he had grown up here, and he knew every nook and cranny of the Castle.
Liam reached the top of the old cobblestone stairs and he opened an old door and he walked into the door.
...
"Enter" said Liam as he was sitting in his office and he signed something.
"Ahh Mero, please sit" said Liam as he looked up and he saw Mero and Mero sat down.
"So what is the situation?" asked Mero as he looked at Liam.
"There were reports of an assassination attempt on father" said Liam seriously as he looked at Mero.
"Did you catch the culprits?" asked Mero.
"No..." said Liam.
"I believe they were scared off seeing as one of the Castle guards noticed some suspicious behaviour from one of the other guards, who in turn revealed in fear that he had heard some bandits speaking earlier about assassinating the King" said Liam.
"And what happened to the guard?" asked Mero.
"He is being held in the dungeon for questioning" said Liam.
"I will question him tomorrow, I had no time, seeing as I had Lady Diwura waiting for me" said Liam as he sighed.
"I find it suspicious to believe that a Castle guard would overhear some bandits speaking, and he would not say anything till a specific time" said Mero.
"That is exactly what I thought!" said Liam
"This all seems planned" said Liam.
"It obviously is... I doubt the validity of that guard" said Mero.
"And so do I" said Liam.
"Which is why Father needs more protection" said Liam.
"Mero please tell Elihu and Zuph to stand guard outside father's room tonight, as much as I would love to trust the Castle guards, I just cannot take any chances" said Liam.
"Consider it done, I will tell them to do so as soon as I see them" said Mero.
"I do not feel like it is wrong to believe that the bandits are people from the east" said Mero.
"They are the newest Kingdom conquered and they are still not ready to accept the fact that they are now a Wyverdale state, they keep on retaliating" said Mero.
"My thoughts exactly" said Liam as he seemed to be thinking.
"But for now, questioning the guard would allow us to truly figure out what is going on" said Liam.
"I agree" said Mero as he seemed to be thinking.
