The Next Morning
The sun had not yet rose, the moon was still in sight, and the cold winter sky was gradually turning light.
In the Scot's residence there seemed to be something important going on, with all the maids and the servants moving about as slow and skillfully as they could, as if they did not want to wake up a certain someone.
"Have you hung up the ribbons in the drawing room?" asked Wura as she whispered to one of the maids.
"Yes Wura, we have" replied the maid.
"That is wonderful" replied Wura as she whispered back.
"Wura" called Richard as he whispered.
"Good Morrow Uncle" said Wura as she smiled.
"Good Morrow" said Richard.
"Is Aunt still sleeping?" asked Wura.
"Yes she is, and it is better if she remains sleeping" he said.
"I agree with you on that Uncle, because if she awakes, I do not know what we are going to say to her to explain what is going on" said Wura.
"So how far have you gone? are the decorations set?" asked Richard.
"Well Uncle, all the ribbons and decorations have been set by the maid, my mother is currently in the kitchen preparing a special breakfast treat, and Father is well, just father" said Wura as she laughed.
"I see" said Richard.
"And what about you Uncle, are you all set with your surprise??" asked Wura as she winked.
She would never in her life ever forget how her usually serious Uncle could be so irrational when it came to her Aunt, to the extent that he had to enlist her help in order for him to go on with his surprise.
"*Ahem*" said Richard as he cleared his throat even though nothing was there.
"Yes, my surprise is perfectly alright, my niece" said Richard.
"Uncle who knew that you could be so romantic" said Wura as she laughed, she did not know what her Uncle had under his sleeve or what his surprise was, but judging from his behavior, Wura knew that he must have had something really important and special.
"I will go check on Tessa" said Richard.
"Oh well Alright Uncle" said Wura as she laughed, she knew that her Uncle was just trying to get out of being embarrassed more.
But there was really nothing to be embarrassed about, he loved Tessa and there was nothing wrong in showing that, even though it was extremely funny for Wura.
Wura walked into the kitchen to check on her mother.
"Mother are you almost done with breakfast?" asked Wura.
"I am already done my dear" said Ireti as she washed her hands and she gave some dishes to the maids.
"That is wonderful Mother" said Wura as she smiled.
"Aunt should be waking up at any moment" said Wura.
"She will be so happy" said Wura with a smile, today was just a wonderful day and it made Wura happy to celebrate.
"Yes I know Wura, Tessa would love this" said Ireti as she smiled.
"Please set the table" said Ireti as she looked at the maids.
"Yes My lady" said the maids as they each carried a dish each outside the room to the dining table.
...
Tessa woke up from her sleep, she yawned, rubbed her eyes, she looked at her right and she could not see Richard anywhere, which made her wonder where he could have gone to so early in this very cold morning.
"Richie??" called Tessa as she thought that maybe he was bathing.
"Richie" she called out again, but she received no reply.
Tessa got out of bed, she was about to go look for Richard, when a mouth watering odor filled her enhanced senses.
And being in the state she was, smelling such delicious aroma made her forget everything else, and she ventured to go find the source of such a deliciously killing aroma.
"I think I hear her coming" said Wura as she and everyone else were in the dining room.
"Everyone quick to your places" she said.
The maids quickly finished setting up the table, and they made sure that everything was perfect and according to the taste of their lady and young miss, once they were done with that, they quickly ran out of the dining room through the other door.
"What in the kingdom is that aroma?" said Tessa as she walked down the stairs, she followed the aroma to the dining room where she received a huge surprise.
"Happy Birthday!!" said Wura, Ireti, Lawrence and Richard with a smile.
"Wait, what???" asked Tessa as she was in shock.
"Happy Birthday my dear Tessa" said Ireti as she was the first to greet her personally with a hug.
"You guys, you should not have done all this" said Tessa as she could not control her emotions, she looked at the wonderful decorations and ribbons hung on the wall, the delicious food set on the dining table, and most of all the beautiful smiles on the faces of the people she loved the most.
"You deserve it Tessa" said Ireti as she smiled.
"Happy Birthday to the most wonderful Aunt in the world" said Wura as she smiled brightly.
"Ooooh come over here my dear" said Tessa with open arms as she hugged Wura.
"Haha" said Wura as she laughed and hugged her Aunt very tightly.
Wura loved Birthdays, it was just a way to celebrate the wonderful people you had around you.
"Tessa" called Lawrence as he had a smile on his face.
"Brother" said Tessa as she smiled and hugged Lawrence.
"Happy Birthday my baby sister" said Lawrence as he smiled.
"Thank you brother" said Tessa as she smiled.
This was one of the happiest day of her life, she got to spend her birthday with her wonderful family, who always played along with all her antics, and she would not want to have it any other way.
"Richie" said Tessa as she looked at the last and final person, who she loved with her whole soul.
"Happy birthday Wildvine" said Richard with a smile as he hugged her.
