Ch-6
"Don't you think you have to study and work simultaneously if you get admission?" Mr. Johnson asked.
"Yes, Sir," she nodded 'sadly'.
She knew what was coming ahead. When she was with her parents she lived a rich life and lived the corporate life in and out. Luciana knew about all dirty politics like the back of her hand. She thought she was used to it. Yet, she didn't. She still felt disgusted by his behavior.
"If you live in my apartment in Blue Waters and allow me to take you in for a few nights, you don't even need to work. You can have everything that you want and need," Mr. Johnson said as he traveled his hand from the back of her hand to her shoulders.
Luciana felt disgusted from the bottom of her pits at his actions. Her every pore felt repulsed by his touch. The bile rose to her mouth. She felt like vomiting that too on his disgusting face.
Oscar was waiting for her to say yes. After all, she was a gold digger and this was a golden opportunity for a woman like her. She wouldn't lose it, right?
Because of her stupid drama, he bought her a new bike to save his face. Now seeing her repulsed face, he wondered if he had been mistaken. But again… there was Mr. Johnson's wife. She would save some money. She may even scam money from her. God knows what exactly she would do.
Just then the waiter came and placed a wrapped paper bag, a coffee cup, and water on the table. Luciana mouthed a thank you to the waiter.
She turned back to the old man.
"Sir Johnson, please do not shame my character. You are repulsive and I want nothing but a professional relationship. I don't need your charity. I will take my leave and apply elsewhere." she said.
Taking the glass, she drank the whole water in a single gulp before picking up her purse.
"Wait! I won't let you receive your salary," the old pervert said, grabbing her arm.
Luciana said with leeches crawling over her skin at his touch. "You are no longer my employer. I don't need to listen to your orders," she said with a finality in her voice.
Picking up the hot freshly brewed coffee which was still exuding the hot wisps into the air as it filled the air with its caffeine smell, she splashed it into his face, shocking him and others in the cafe.
Even Mrs. Johnson was shocked. She didn't know if she was supposed to be happy or sad. She was glad that the young woman had stood up for herself and that her husband couldn't add another mistress to his list but also sad that he had tried to cheat on her again.
She had gotten tired of him. It had been years since they were married yet he was never loyal. He had his career because of her. And the riches because of her.
The Blue Waters apartment was the gift from him to her for their twenty-fifth marriage anniversary. What was meant to be symbolic of their relationship, he's giving to another woman for his pleasure with no guilt or remorse for his spouse.
What wrong did she do to deserve this from him?
She had had enough. Her children were settled. She no longer had responsibilities that required a husband's security. She'd always dreamed of settling and spending her last working years in the part of the company she had but her inner peace was ruined by her chosen spouse.
She made a quick decision in her head. If she went away from him, she could finally have peace.
If she wanted she could start a career or be a live-in mom for her son. Her daughter-in-law was very kind and loving. She would take care of them and their children when they had in the future. Her daughter-in-law was worried about not having a career after having children. She would take care of her grandchildren for her. And this would be a good thing for her and her daughter-in-law.
The customers in the cafe were shocked at this sudden scene. Few filmed it and few cheered for Luciana.
"Never put your hands on me again, you disgusting pervert!" she wrenched her arm from him and spun on her heels, walking away quickly. She wanted to get home and wash his scent off her. She was soon out of sight and people were chattering loudly about what had happened.
Mrs. Johnson stood up from her seat and walked in front of her husband, his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of his wife.
"Steve, I will be filing for divorce. Rot on your own. I will try contacting President Bernadotte, and let him have you fired!" she spat before walking away.
She did not need to yell or shout or cause any drama. Her goal was not to draw attention. Mrs. Johnson had said what she needed and left gracefully. No wonder she was a heavily respected woman.
Oscar texted his team to block off Steve Johnson's salary account. So that he couldn't access any of his money.
Steve Johnson tried to run after his wife but she had already left. Her driver was waiting for her at the entrance when she exited promptly. Mr. Johnson felt suspicious of everything that had just happened.
He was willing to do everything but divorce his wife. Almost everything would go to her if they get divorced. He would be left with a single two-bedroom apartment and a few thousand in cash. He couldn't imagine his life without money and luxury and girls. With his wife, he could have anything. But it was not his choice. She was set on this decision and there was no amount of manipulation he could use to deter her.
He played many tricks to get the whole property under his name but to his disappointment, everything went to his son.
In a single day, he lost everything. As he thought about it, it was all because of Luciana. She had called him to a cafe where there would be people. His wife being there must have been her doing as well. He should have doubted her. But he didn't. Maybe if he had seen through his lust earlier this wouldn't have happened.
He should have seen this coming,
That bitch!! He cursed in his mind.
Just then the cafe staff went to him and gave him the bill to pay.
Ufff… how could he forget this. No wonder she asked them to pack. She planned it too well.
'This bitch! She is cunning!' he cursed.
He tried to pay with his card but was denied. His card showed no balance error.
"Sir, please. We have other customers," the staff urged.
Steve Johnson wanted to shout out in frustration. He took out his wallet and gave them all the cash he had inside. He was left with only a few dollar bills. But it was fine. He would get to the office and check with his account and then everything would be alright. Then he would go home and will explain that it was all Luciana's fault. That she had staged this all to happen. He would have everything back.
He told himself it was fine and confidently returned to his office. But if only he knew….
