Chapter 10 - I vowed to survive

"Veda, look"

Aria ceased her friend who was about to step into taxi. Confusing Veda who had no clue. She looked up at her friend. And she noticed Aria's widened eyes were on somewhere else in shock. It puzzled Veda even more so that she turned her head to the direction.

Only to discover two men staring at her already coldly from across the road. Their gazes were dull but held a hint of lust for blood. If you observed closely, their hands were holding pistols firmly. Derringers in their grasp while their eyes landed on the young woman only.

As soon as they made sure the young woman was outside the apartment, one of the men raised his hand into the air. And tapped on the earbud he had in right ear. "The target has made appearance" he notified in a low tone while maintaining the eye contact.

It frightened Veda wholly so that she froze at the spot. It was not even twenty four hours yet the men managed to discover where she lived and even waited till she walked out. They had come to her at last. The men in suits with guns had arrived to take her life away.

"Fuck it..." Aria cursed under her breath in realization and disappointment as her hand seized the wrist of her friend quickly. "Stop standing like a fucking statue. Hop in already! We have to run away when we still can!" Aria alerted her friend who was in disbelief.

"Please leave from here! Hurry!"

As soon as they two got into the car, Aria raised her tone in panic at the taxi driver. Making him acted up in shock promptly without awareness. "Did you see them?" In the end, Veda voiced with a depressed expression. Recovering from surprise when the car drove off.

"Yes. They were eyeing on you and even informed something through earbud if I am right" Aria replied. She was attempting herself to stay calm since she did not want to scare her friend away as well. She had to soothe this anxiety and fear. "I have to do as my plans now"

Under her breath, Veda affirmed. Choosing the schemes she made up last night. It had not been a day after the woman's death, the so called mafia already sent the men to her to take away her life. It was obvious how he got enough wealth and power to step on her life.

She could not let this occur no matter what. She had to survive even with another name and life. Giving up on life was never her option to pick. Suffering and surviving were the only options she got. "Let me confirm. Are you certain with your decisions?"

Aria asked again. Making the young woman turned her head to left side. And they two locked their eyes. "I vowed to survive. Not to give up. I can risk everything to live one more time" With a serious gaze displayed, Veda affirmed coldly. Causing Aria to let out a sigh in silence.

"Alright. Let's recommence then"

And so the two friends decided to stay in a hotel that day. They did not even walk out of their room once they got in. For twenty four hours straight, they did not appear outside the room. Instead, Veda and Aria drew the plans to change everything and start living the new life.

"Wear your mask properly" Aria warned to the young woman who was adjusting her clothes while observing the reflection in mirror. "Don't worry, no one will recognize me for sure" Veda stated after wearing the cap. She tied her brown hair into a tight low bun also.

Making sure it was unfeasible to recall her in a moment of glance. "Alright, it is time to go get all your money and stuffs from apartment" Aria notified and twisted the door handle. Then they two left the hotel after paying the check. Both of them were under disguise.

Aria had a thick glasses on with beret while Veda looked like a basic traveller of the city. They spent almost two hours two get these looks with what they got in their bags. "I swear to god, do not even dare to act suspicious" Aria alerted as soon as they reached to building.

"Watch yourself back, idiot. Your eyes are glancing around a lot like a thief right now" in a mocking tone, Veda taunted. Annoying her friend so that Aria rolled her eyes. They two got into elevator hurriedly. As Veda was about to press the close button, a shout echoed the hall.

"Stop right there!"

The man's voice broke in. Startling the young woman and her friend. They two glanced at each other in anxiety as the man appeared in front of the elevator who seemed to be out of breath. "Please wait for me.." he mumbled in exhaustion as sigh escaped between two's lips.

They were scared to death, thinking it was one of the men who came to kill Veda. Turned out it was just a stranger who required to step into elevator along with them in time. "Get in! Quickly!" In an energetic tone, Veda waved her hand with a smile beneath the white mask.

Causing the man to return a grin. He walked into the elevator. Standing at the back of the two women as the elevator door shut. "Could you please press the level 12?" The man asked politely since Veda was near the buttons. "Oh yes" without hesitating, she helped.

And the dead silence gathered. It was awkward as fuck. Making Veda and Aria wished for the elevator to reach to floor 9 quickly. Thankfully, not even fifteen seconds later, the elevator arrived. Causing the two young women to get out of it with quick steps to breathe in air.

The atmosphere inside the elevator was awkward and uncomfortable for the two to inhale so that they even held in breath quietly. "I nearly had an attack because of that man" Aria disclosed while gulping. Restraining her hand back from pressing her chest under cctv.

There were cameras recording.

She could not act suspicious to draw attention. "Same here. I thought I was about to die" Veda divulged in a tired tone. Being done with everything in this world. "As if I am going to let you die" Aria murmured as the young woman pulled out the card from bag.

"Let's see who will run away first if I ever got into risky situation" Veda mumbled in response after unlocking the door. Then they two walked into the apartment. "Oh my! I just noticed these gladiolus flowers bouquet" Out of the blue, Aria dashed up to the bouquet.

It was placed on the table which was near the door. Since Aria was concerned over the unexpected incident, she could not even realize the fact that there was a whole bouquet on the table when she stepped into apartment last night. "Give it to me" Veda requested.

Without knowing the next moves of her friend, Aria passed the gladiolus flowers bouquet into the hands of Veda. "Did you buy them? Or did someone gift that to you-" Before Aria could continue the sentence, Veda walked up near to the bin and threw it right into it instantly.

Stunning Aria entirely so that she froze. Not believing the scene she just witnessed. "What the fuck.. why did you?! It costs at least a hundred dollars! Do you think money comes in and out easily without working hard?! The fuck no! Why did you even buy that in first place?!"

Furiously, Aria grumbled.

Making her friend furrowed her brows in annoyance. "I was not the one who bought that. Someone placed it in front of my door last night and even wrote.." all of sudden, Veda quieted down. Confusing her friend wholly. "Wrote what? Continue your words!"

Out of impatience, Aria raised her tone. "It is nothing. I think someone mistook me and gave to wrong address. So I planned to throw it away since the beginning" Veda lied through her teeth. She decided to swallow the truth instead of disclosing. There was a reason.

She did not want to stress her friend with all of her problems. Getting chased by men with guns was enough to make Aria pull out many ideas and thoughts to escape. Divulging how Veda got anonymous letter who appeared like a stalker would make Aria wanted to give up.

So Veda picked an option where she just bottled up everything just to protect her friend from chaotic mess. "Are you sure?" In full of doubt, Aria queried. Furrowing her brows as the young woman rolled her eyes. "Why the fuck would I lie to you, idiot?" She provoked.

Walking into her bedroom as her friend followed. "Fine. Let's just say I believe your suspicious words" Aria stated. "Shut up and help me to gather my clothes" Veda commanded in an annoyed tone to veil the lies. Causing her friend to roll her eyes this time. "Yes, Ma'am"

Aria taunted.
