"Dinner is ready mademoiselle." Carlos said popping out of who knows where startling Amara. "Jesus, Carlos you scared me!" Amara said holding her hand over her chest. "Apologies mademoiselle, I did not mean to scare you." Carlos said. "It's okay." Amara said standing up. "Master Ian is coming over tomorrow." Carlos said. "Yeah I know he told me." Amara said rolling her eyes. "I take it you do not want him to come." Carlos said. "Yeah, but there is nothing that I can do about it. He told me that he will tell me why as soon as he gets here. I hope that he is not trying to find some excuse to not leave me alone." Amara said. "He is not looking fir some excuse, there is a reason why he wants to come here." Carlos said. "Do you know the reason?" Amara asked him. "Yes but I will not tell you, he will tell you when he gets here." Carlos said. "Just tell me. It's not like he is watching us now... Is he?" Amara asked, the thought of Ian watching her made her body tremble in disgust. "No, not at all. He is not watching us. He promised you to give you your freedom and privacy and he meant it. So there is no need fir you to worry about him watching us or secretly listening to our conversations." Carlos said truthfully. "Okay, I hope that you are not lying to me for him." Amara said. "I am not lying to you and I would never lie to you. I am forever loyal to you mademoiselle." He said. "Okay don't say such things, you are making me feel like the master and you the slave." Amara said, she did not like to be treated like she is some kind of empress, she didn't like being treated like something special at all. She wanted people to treat her and talk to her normally. "Apologies, come and eat before the food gets cold." Carlos said. "Okay." Amara said. And they both walked in to the dining hall.
Amara sat down on one if the chairs. "So what did the chef make for dinner today?"Amara asked Carlos. " Steak frites, ratatouille and for dessert the chef made mille feuille. "Carlos said."Mille what now?" Amara asked. She had eaten ratatouille and steak frites before. It was her first time hearing this name mille feuille. "Mille feuille means one thousand sheets, layers, or leaves. It's an old-school French pastry that's airy, crispy, flaky, and decadent in all the right places. The flavors of a millefeuille are simple, but the textures are amazing, I am quite sure that you will enjoy it." Carlos said. "Okay I trust you." Amara said and she started by eating one of her favorite dishes ratatouille.
After finishing eating sh couldn't help but praise the desert and hoped that the chef would be given a raise for making such delicious food for her. "Carlos!"Amara called out and Carlos came into the dining hall from the kitchen."Yes mademoiselle?"Carlos said."Is there any mille feuille left?"Amara asked."Yes, there is plenty." Carlos said with a smile on his face. He was glad that she had enjoyed the dessert that the chef who's name was Adrian had made. "Please get me some more, it tastes really great, I think that it's going to be one of my favorite dessert." Amara said. "I'll get it for you right away." Carlos said going into the kitchen to get Amara her dessert.
"You've done a great job Adrian, mademoiselle Amara likes your dessert, make sure to make her new ones. I'll convince master Ian to give you a raise." Carlos said walking into the kitchen. "Merci Carlos. If I get a raise then I'll finally be able to send my daughter to a private school." Andrean said in his French accent. "I'm sure that she'll be happy." Carlos said. And Adien gave him the glass plates that contained the desserts and he walked back into the dining hall.
"Here is your dessert mademoiselle." Carlos said placing the tray that had glass plates with dessert in it on the table. "Thank you Carlos and please give my thanks to the chef, he sure knows how to please my taste buds." Amara said. "I'll make sure to do that mademoiselle." Carlos said walking out of the dining hall leaving Amara alone with her dessert.
After eating Amara went outside and she sat on the bench that was in the garden. She closed her eyes listening to the sweet and calming sound of the river that flowed twenty four seven. The cool breeze just made everything better, she hummed a song that her mother used to sing for her when she was a kid. She hummed the the song for about five minutes until she heard footsteps approaching her. She thought that it was Carlos or one of the maids or servants. The footsteps approached her slowly until they stopped behind her. She opened her eyes and she saw a man she didn't recognize, she quickly stood up from where she was seated. "Hello. Amara it's a pleasure to finally meat you, my name is Chad,I'm sure that we are going to get along well." He said smiling at Amara. From the way he was smiling she could tell that this man meant nothing but trouble. "what are you doing here?" Amara asked him. "Wow, so you are not even going to greet me properly Ex-sister in law." He said. Amara looked at him in shock. She didn't remember Ian or Charles mentioning anything about Ian having a brother. "Who are you?" Amara asked him. "Who, me? I'm Ian's younger brother ." He said. "You are lying, Ian doesn't have a brother he only has a littler sister." Amara said. "Dear Amara there is a lot that you don't know about this family." He said. "But if you want to know the amazing secrets then I will happily tell you." He said ."Look I don't know what you are talking about, please leave." Amara said walking away. "I can also tell you who killed your parents and caused you pain and suffering." He said. Amara quickly turned around.
