Chapter 6 - Have lunch?

Marion paced in her private room. Still trying to understand what just happened in her life. Now her life is turning upside down. She, who is just an ordinary employee in a fashion company, can now be said to have been promoted.

Just say so. However, the thing that should make Marion proud, actually made her unmotivated.

"What promotion is it? If I only deal with William Reynz alone, and am not allowed to communicate with other employees for an indefinite period, that is tantamount to torture. And don't forget, there are many rules and articles under articles. Great!" she grumbled to herself.

She was still pacing, restless, not knowing what to do. If she ran away from that place, of course she couldn't. Her life had depended on the work she had done the last few years. She just didn't think that her job this time seemed ridiculous and unreasonable.

Also, don't forget William's fierce looking bodyguard. It seemed, wherever Marion went, they would easily find her. Not only because of their physical ability and intelligence, but also William's financial ability that made things easy for the man to caught her back.

Marion couldn't take her mind off the contract. What was the real purpose of her being hired as a personal assistant? And what are the duties of a personal assistant? Whether to serve William in quotes, for taboo subjects or ....

These wild thoughts frustrate Marion. She ruffled her long hair, not caring what she looked like now. Moreover, if William later saw her appearance which already resembled an insane girl, it was possible that she would be freed from this unreasonable task.

Just as Marion had hoped, William burst into Marion's room through the connecting door and headed straight for the girl's desk.

The girl flinched at the sudden arrival of her boss.

"God! Mr. Reynz, can't you knock on the door first? You made me—"

"Have you forgotten who I am, to dare to order me to knock on the door, Marion?" William interrupted Marion, reluctant to let the girl finish her grumbling.

Oh ... he began to change to call Marion by her first name. Does that mean this guy is starting to act normal and less harsh with her?

"S-sorry, sir. How can I help you?" asked Marion, relenting. Because she herself was not interested in arguing with her boss.

"Ahem ... uhm ... I want to ..."

Really, William really wanted to swear and pass the swearing of his stuttering this time. Hey! He was William Reynz, a leader and owner of a well-known fashion company—one of the few famous ones, as well as a formidable leader of the strongest group. Stuttering would only embarrass himself.

Luckily, there were no pack members in this room.

Marion waited for his boss to tell her what he needed, but the wait was so long and William didn't open up about the purpose of his arrival, forcing Marion to have to speak up again.

"Sir? Would you like some coffee?" Marion asked again, making small talk and prompting William to say what he wanted. Marion had waited patiently enough, and shouldn't it be lunch time? She had an appointment with Shana to have lunch together, if she didn't show up, her bestfriend would definitely be angry with her.

"Uhm ... no, that's not it. I came here to ask about the contract earlier. Yes, that's what I wanted to ask."

Really?

"Ah . . . about that? Sorry, sir. I haven't signed anything yet. Besides, didn't you just say I had to hand it over myself when I signed it? Why did you bother getting it here?"

Never mind ... Marion can assure you, this is just an excuse for William to give her another task. She doesn't know. Isn't she a personal assistant? And ... what was a personal assistant job? Serve. Yes of course. Does that also mean serving in terms of food, clothing, and ....

"Marion!? You're not listening to me?" The baritone voice sounded surprising to Marion, whose thoughts had drifted to nowhere.

"Oh, God! S-sorry, sir. I was lost for a moment. What are you asking?" asked Marion, trying to shake off the thoughts in her head about William.

About the body posture and beautiful face like a Greek god, who always succeeded in making Marion difficult to swallow her own saliva, even just to breathe oxygen to fill her chest cavity.

About the moments of their meeting that raised questions in Marion's head, as well as the continuation of that incident. Could this man who had slept and was lucky to get her virginity?

No! She hope not!

"I'm not asking, but giving orders for you to prepare now."

Marion gaped. "W-where are we going, sir?"

"You will accompany me to lunch. Get ready now, I am waiting for you in my room."

Marion blinked as the well-built man disappeared behind the glass door connecting their room. So is it mean that the promise between Marion and Shana has definitely failed? Or ... could she invite Shana to join her and William?

Marion couldn't let the man go his way. She followed William's footsteps and entered his room.

"Are you ready? So fast."

"No. I just wanted to say something. You didn't tell me that accompanying you to lunch is also an assistant's job, right? And ... I have an appointment with a friend of mine to have lunch together, if I come with you, that means—"

William turned and shot Marion a cold glare. It was completely different from William who a few minutes ago entered her room. Does he have multiple personalities?

"Did I ask your opinion? Or ... did I give you an option?"

Marion shook his head.

"So you understand, don't you, what do you have to do? If you're ready now, let's go."

Marion nodded obediently, but still had a confused face. She didn't expect it to be so complicated working for this man. A haughty man who was too charming to hypnotize herself with all the charms that he might not realize.

Marion also doesn't realize that she is now being hypnotized, drowned, drifting ... or other words that are suitable to describe what is happening now between her and William.

Did the man realize that he was too charming?

However, Marion's obedience this time was not because she was fascinated by what the man had, but because she herself was confused as to why she was so unlucky to be in William Reynz's circle that she couldn't move. And after this, then what else?

Is there still something strange that is kept by the man, which she must know and recognize in the end?

Marion followed William's steps out of his room, saw Leah sitting at his desk, then got up and bowed as William and Marion passed her desk. Not only Leah, but the bodyguards and other employees.

It seemed that all the employees on this floor knew William. Yet, why didn't the division where Marion work for ever talk about this man, other than strange things that hadn't even been proven in her eyes?

Marion just resigned and sat like a sweet child when alone in the car with William. Several times stealing glances at the man beside her, Marion tried to act casual. But now her heart was beating wildly.

Almost gulped, out of her throat.

Especially when the car driven by William moved towards the road surrounded by forest on the right and left.

"W-where are we going, sir?" Marion asked, this time unable to contain her nervousness. While William was still focused on the road in front of him. It was quiet and made Marion shudder for a moment.

"Mr. Reynz! Where are we going?"

This is no matter how many times Marion asked, and not a single answer came out of the man's mouth. This, of course, made Marion even more furious.

"M-master Reynz ...." This time Marion was really scared. What some of the employees were talking about, about the personal assistant who mysteriously disappeared, and what she was dealing with at the moment, was very much related.

Will William finish her off? Eat her? Or as a sacrifice for offerings in order to maintain his good looks?
