Seeing her tears, Taranis broke and he ended up spilling his guts when the guilt started rushing in. "We didn't think you would transition into a ghoul instead of a true vampire," he tried to explain, but it only filled Amaira's scrambled mind with even more confusion.
"To get Elias out, we needed you to willingly let him have a taste of your blood."
Amaira gaped like a fish into the darkness as questions fought to be asked first in her head, but regarding Elias, she could grasp it was somehow his fault she was swaying side to side like a drunken bastard at death's doorstep, but she couldn't recall when she ever gave him any of her blood.
"I know you must have many questions," Taranis started after seeing her confused expression. "But we're out of time." He continued under his breath, "And it seems I have guests begging to be entertained."
