Helen was about to sail another brick at his head when Anabel intervened and gripped her arm. "Helen please calm down, there is no evidence that he did all that you are accusing him of!"
"Get your hands off me!" Helen angrily yelled exerting so much force in her push that Anabel's body crashed into the SUV they all previously occupied.
"How dare you put your hands on your mother?" Victor reprimanded her.
"My mother?" she laughed humourlessly. "None of us here are even actually related, we were just grouped together by the council because we were all turned by the same sicko!"
She diverted her anger back to Oliver who has been standing there silently. Helen pointed at him, "The sicko that this asshole let loose on the world!"
"Oliver wouldn't do that!" Anabel defended him as she marched up to Helen. "And even if he did it must've been an accident, have you considered that maybe he didn't know things would turn out like this?"
Helen looked at the other members of the family for backup, but none met her eyes; they were sure she was picking on the family's favorite.
"I can't believe this!"
"That's enough, Helen."
All eyes fell on Oliver after he finally said something. Even though he was deemed the youngest, all the members of the family, except Helen of course, looked up to him and admired him so they were happy to see he was finally going to defend himself.
Oliver looked at each of them with the same stoic expression on his face before saying, "Many persons were bitten by Kenneth over the past century of my brother being sealed inside him, but only the nine of you survived the transition and became true vampires. He gave you strength, power, and immortality for fifty years as promised, now in return, you must offer your lives to rebuild his strength."
Over a century ago, after Elias was separated from his humanity and sealed into the body of a baby, his only remaining family member, his brother, Oliver started preparing for his resurrection.
He traveled the world going from cult to cult of Elias worshippers and hospital to hospital of dying persons and had them swear to offer themselves to Elias after fifty years upon being bitten by Kenneth and made into a true vampire. Not many survived the transition and ended up turning into mindless ghouls.
With the council on his tail, Oliver was forced to make do with the nine persons that survived the process and made them into a family...the Stone family. He erased their memories shortly after so they had no recollection of the promise they made or who he actually was.
Anabel slowly approached him, holding his face gently in her hands, "Oliver, what are you saying? This isn't you, this isn't you at all."
"Get away from him, Anabel," Helen spat. "You heard it from his own mouth and you still don't believe it?"
None of them could believe it actually; they were in too much of a shock to even have a proper reaction to his statement, but in their heads, they were still holding on to even the smallest bit of hope that he was joking.
Oliver ignored the weeping woman in front of him as he said, "Elias is getting impatient, please everyone, come along quickly."
Victor was the first to get over the shock as his expression turned to one of anger. "Oliver you bastard!" he yelled as he charged toward him with his fists ready to pound.
The human eye wouldn't be able to see what happened, but it was one slap to the face from Oliver that caused Victor's body to be slammed face down into the concrete pavement.
"Victor!" Anabel screamed before rushing to her husband's side. All the bones in his body were broken from the impact and his head was a bloody mess, but he was still alive. Being a vampire, he would heal, but so many injuries would take a while.
"Do refrain from attacking me, I truly do not want to hurt any of you," Oliver honestly told them. They were meant to only be the first meal of his brother, but he's actually developed a bond with some of them over the years.
Unfortunately, his words fell on deaf ears as all of them except Helen and Anabel rushed toward him with killing intent in their eyes. Thinking that he wouldn't be able to take on all of them, they attacked at once, but how wrong they were.
Oliver didn't even move an inch and it all happened in a flash. When the dust of the scene cleared, they were all buried face down in the ground unable to move.
"How are you so strong?" Helen questioned while slowly stepping backward. She's been silently watching for a while devising how she would beat him and save her family, but after seeing his brute strength, she knew there was only one thing she could do.
"I'm a pure-blooded vampire," he responded.
She went to Elias' side, he's been unconscious for a while, but he's still alive. "What's a pure-blooded vampire? How are you different from us?" Helen went on to question, not out of curiosity, but to keep him distracted.
"I was born in the pits of Hell from the first vampire ever was and so was my brother," was his simple response as he watched her every movement.
Oliver already knew what she was planning to do, so when she grabbed Elias and took off at an incredible speed he was ready to catch her but was unexpectedly stopped by Anabel latching onto his leg.
"Oliver, please don't do this," she pleaded as she held on to him for dear life. "Whatever that monster is making you do, you don't have to do it, we can run away together, somewhere...somewhere he'll never find us."
"Oliver, I love you," she finished.
"Out of all the persons, you're the only one I truly never wanted to hurt," were his last words to her before he snapped her neck.
