"Catch her. Don't let her go!" A robust middle-aged man shouted.
A young girl of about sixteen years was running hastily out of the city wall. Dry blood lingered at the corner of her lips. Her hair was disheveled, and her cloth was tattered. Her chest rose and fell.
A couple of men in armor chased after the young girl when they heard the robust man yell. Seeing more guards after her, the young girl panicked and bit her lips.
'What should I do? What should I do?'
Many people on the busy road avoid the girl and guards, not having the intention of meddling. Suddenly, the young girl's eyes shine brightly. She increased her speed with some difficulty, letting out a groan.
The Long-Fall caravan was just entering the Xina with a radiant smiles all over their faces. It's been a long time since the people of Long-Fall Pass dare to step out of the city. Since, if they leave the city. They would be haunted by their enemies.
However, everything changes with the arrival of the prince. He gave them hope and confidence in facing their adversities. What could possibly happen to them with the prince around? Tsk!
Suddenly, a young girl dashed into the middle carriage, shutting the door immediately.
What!
The five soldiers among the guards dressed in guard clothes had their jaws dropped. What the hell. Kako looked at his subordinates and fear gripped their hearts. What should they do?
No one expected the hunted girl would choose to enter the middle carriages. And not just any carriage. But the prince's carriage.
"What should we do?" Meyla whispered. The muscle on her face contracted. She looked at Raymond and Donald.
"What can we do? Let's watch and wait." Donald said trepidation. His heart was running on Mach 10. 'We're so dead.'
"This is bad." Raymond gnashed his teeth. If he could lay his hand on the young girl. He would have given the girl the beating of her life.
Everyone around the carriage looked at the carriage with a pensive gaze. Waiting.
"Do you see a young girl in dirty clothes?" A guard asked the Long-Fall caravan.
"I-I-" Raymond stuttered, not sure how to answer. He looked at Donald and Meyla for help, but both of them averted their gaze.
"We see her." Kako rode his horse forward. "She had left the city and moved north."
"Are you sure?" The robust middle-aged man squinted his brow and stared directly into Kako's eyes.
"Are you questioning me?" Kako didn't avert his gaze. Both men lock into each other's gaze.
As one of Al Casendra training. Long-Fall soldiers shouldn't bow their heads to anybody else. Unless they received a direct order. The Xina city guards looked at Kako in astonishment.
'Where did this man come from? Didn't he know what he's getting into going against Berti.'
Kako didn't know what the guards were thinking and if he knew, he wouldn't care. When Kako doesn't have any intention of backing down.
"Good! Good!" A creepy smile appeared on Berti face. "It's been long since a novice dare look straight into my eyes. Are you new?"
"Why do you care?"
"If you're not new. You won't have done that." Berti turned and looked at the guards and command. "Don't let the girl go. Chase after and bring her back to me?"
With that, he left, giving Kako one last glance before he disappeared into the stream of people. The guards looked at Berti then back to Kako before they shook their heads, running north.
"What was that?" Meyla asked with a raspy voice.
"Nothing. Let's continue." Kako commanded, giving the middle carriage a glance before riding his horse deep into the city.
The various activities and hundreds of people walking on the road makes the street lively. Long-Fall Pass couldn't be compared to Xina city. Many magnificent buildings were erected in various locations of the city.
People stream in and out of the city non-stop. The Long-Fall Pass caravan arrived in front of a magnificent hotel. Meyla entered the hotel with a radiant smile plastered on her face.
This wasn't her first time visiting Xina city. Long before the destruction of her family. Her parents had taken her to visit Xina city.
After a couple of minutes, Meyla returned and motioned the others to follow her inside. Kako didn't utter a word. He approached Al Casendra carriage and knocked it twice. Shortly, Al Casendra emerges from the carriage.
With a slight bow. "We've booked this hotel. Please come in."
Al Casendra nodded and followed after Kako. The remaining guards took the carriages to a special spot created for carriages.
On the third floor of the hotel, a group of people sat around a young man, not daring to look at his face. Obviously, that young man was Al Casendra and his people.
Al Casendra sipped the warm tea beside him and gazed out of the window, looking at the assiduous city. 'Though magic reigned supreme in this world. Its application to daily usage is minuscule. Perhaps, I'm yet to visit the advanced city.'
'Now, since we have arrived. It is time for these people to know of us'
Al Casendra stood from his seat and straightened his blue robe. Though the city was full of various noises coming from the pedestrians and peddlers and merchants. Yet, the room was quiet like a graveyard.
He walked toward the board beside him and picked the writer and began to write.
"Let's begin. You three," He pointed to Donald, Meyla and Raymond.
"I want you to survey the city. Which business is striving and which is not. I want a comprehensive detail by nightfall."
The three nodded. However, their back was already drenched in cold. The word comprehensive gave them goosebumps. Millie had strictly warned them. His highness expected every detail to the smallest.
Now, they need to survey a whole city business to the smallest details. Gush! They wanted to cry, but there were no tears in their eyes.
Al Casendra didn't know the thought of the people in front of him. He wrote another text on the board.
"Kako, you and your men survey all the routes of the city and the people who use the route. And the powerful families and the current ruling families should be under your survey."
"Any question?"
The group shook their heads, wiping the bead of sweat in front of their head.
Al Casendra waves his hand, seeding the people out.
'Now, it's time for me to deal with the girl.'
