Chapter 36 - Birth of the supreme Army 2

'What am I missing.' Al Casendra thought furiously.

He rubbed his brow and tap his feet. It had been two days since the creation of the Wolves and Eagles squad. Also, he gave the Rapid Fire Bow to his army.

Now, he only needed to concentrate on the runes inscription. He thought he would master the basic inscription in a day at most. But reality slapped his face. Rune inscription was more complicated than he imagined.

'I need to solve this problem.' He moved back and forth in his study, ruminating on his research. 'How can I, the greatest scientist, be lesser than these people. Impossible.' A sharp glint appeared deep in his pupil.

He walked to a jar of wine beside his table and pour himself a cup. He gulped all the wine in one swig. His face redden a bit, and he exhaled slowly, taking a deep breath.

Pa Pa.

Al Casendra clapped his hand twice and sat on his chair, tapping the table gently. The crispy sound of the oak table echoed in the still room. Shortly, Cole entered the room and gave a bow.

He gave Cole a parchment and waves his hand to dismiss him. Receiving the parchment, Cole read the content and step out of the room in a large stride.

Al Casendra stood from his seat and walked to the window on his left. The gentle wind blew to his face. The bright sun hung in the mid of the sky, showing his magnificence. A couple of meters from Al Casendra building.

He saw his army training fiercely with their new weapon. Under the scorching sun, the group run and dodge and shoot the rapid-fire bow like he showed down.

"Idiot! Don't wait for your enemy to cast their magic before you take them down." Damie shouted furiously.

"Yes!!" Her squad member shouted, ricking in sweats.

"We don't depend on magic alone. We depend on three things." Tami Shouted. "What did I say?" His voice resounded throughout the training ground.

"We depend on three things.!!!" His team shouted with veins budging on their foreheads.

"What those things!!!"

"Our Companion. Our Weapon and Our magic!!!"

"Do you understand!!!"

"Yes, sir!!"

"I Don't hear you. Cat got your tongue!!!"

"YES SIR." They shouted, saliva shooting out of their mouth and their blood pumping from the adrenaline.

Al Casendra stared at the training and a slight smile crept onto his face and the corner of his lips raised slightly. Suddenly, his ear perked. A heavy footstep came from outside.

He turned his head and heard Old James's sonorous voice.

"Your highness."

Pa Pa.

At once, Old James entered Al Casendra's study with sweats dripping from his body. It can't be helped, Old James deals with fire all day through.

Al Casendra didn't waste a moment. He walked to a near board and picked the writer and wrote on the board.

"Tell me everything you know about rune inscription and runesmith."

Seeing this, Old James was somehow astounded. 'Why is the prince obsessed with runes.' He thought, shaking his head slightly. Even though he didn't know why the prince was so obsessed with runes.

Old James began to share all his experiences with Al Casendra. Al Casendra listen with rapt attention. In midway, he'd scribe some words on the board quickly and ask him the various question.

In the beginning, Old James could answer the question with his little knowledge. But as time goes on, it began to get difficult for him to answer the question. He needed to spend some time thinking about the appropriate response.

'What a scary thinking. I never thought runes could be comprehended like that.' Old James shuddered.

Another minute passed, and Old James couldn't answer the question anymore. He stuttered a lot, finding the words stuck in his throat. Unknown to him, his back was drenched in cold sweats.

"Y-Your… highness. Please don't ask me anymore. This old man didn't know the answer to it." Old James finally accepts defeat. 'It's just a couple of days. How can he understand so much.'

'Did I waste all my life for nothing?' Old James felt conflicted, questioning his life.

Al Casendra nodded and smile lightly. "Get me all the materials for inscription." He wrote on the board.

Old James nodded and left the room dejected. His head was full of a lot of complex questioning. Though, he wasn't a master in rune inscription. He could draw some basic inscriptions. But his rate of success was 10 percent.

Meanwhile, a couple of kilometers from Long-Fall Pass. A group of meet in black rode their horses, leaving a trail of dust behind. Everything about them was black. This includes their horses while also their faces were covered in a black masks.

In just a matter of minutes, they shortened the distance by half. The horse neighs and there hove dance on the ground like they were gliding on thin air.

"What is that?" Carlos asked, staring at the incoming trial of dust.

Mike raised his head and followed Carlos's gaze. He squinted his gaze for a moment. His rank was higher than Carlos by one. He caught sight of men in black with dangerous weapons on their horses.

"This can't be," Mike murmured absentmindedly.

"What can't be," Carlos asked in a panic.

"This…. People— are they trying to attack the city." Mike stuttered.

"What do you think? Should we report?"

"Yes."

Mike quickly picks a bow and arrow. He drew the string and fire it toward the city. At once, a piercing sound echoed throughout the city. Also, when the arrow reached the highest altitude. A red flare spread through the sky.

'Yes! I finally get it.' Al Casendra exclaimed in his heart. A wild smile spread throughout his face. He looked at the slight glowing runes on the beast parchment with satisfaction.

Hmm!

'That sound!' He halt his excrement and raised his bro, and furrowed. 'That an emergency signal.'

Without further ado, Al Casendra stumbled out of his study and met Sir John on his way.

Meanwhile, the army stop their training and looked at the city gate. No one know what was going on. Suddenly, they saw Sir John walking into the training ground.

"Where is the captain of the two squads." Sir John sonorous voice spread throughout the field.

"Here." Damie and Tami step out.

'Is it time for us to show our might?' They both thought.

In a jiffy, Sir John passes a scroll each to the two captains. With that, he rushed out of the training ground.

Damie and Tami unfold the scroll and saw the content with Al Casendra's seal and secret code.

"Boys! It's time for action. Get your ass moving." Tami shouted, rushing toward his wolf in anticipation.

"His highness. He needed ten of us in the air right now." Damie run and whistled. She quickly call out the name of the ten while waiting for her beast.

Whoosh

The training ground was in upheaval. The soldier changed their weapon cartridge to grade 3 while waiting for the beast to land. One after the other, large eagles began to descend on the training.

"On me!" Damie shouted, jumping on her eagle with her rapid-fire bow on her back.

Whoosh!

Ten powerful gale swept the training ground and ten powerful eagles rose in the air and flew toward the city gate. While Tami and his men rode their wolves speedily toward the gate.
