Long-Fall Pass had undergone huge changes since the defeat of the monster beast. Also, the emergence of a new currency in Long-Fall stupefied the people. Though, many people wondered why the prince created another currency. However, when they realized they couldn't understand the train of thought of the prince. The citizen welcomed the new beginning with an open heart.
"I don't expect his highness to change our currency." A young woman whispered to her friend.
"Hmm, hmm. But I wonder why?" She replied, looking at the green note in her hands.
"To develop the city. What else" A middle-aged man answered. He sat in front of a renovated shop, smiling from ear to ear.
"Really?" The two friends raised their brows, not understanding how the new currency would develop their city.
"Yes. When a visitor comes to the city for business or trade. They'd have to change their coins to our paper notes. Do you understand?" The middle-aged brightened his eyes and stared at the two ladies.
They shook their head and muttered. "We don't"
"Leave my presence, if you can't understand such a simple matter." The smile on his face disappeared, sending them away in vexation.
Now, there are four currencies in Long-Fall Pass. The Brown, Green, Purple and Blue. One Brown paper note equals 100 copper coins. One Green paper note equals 100 silver coins, while 100 Gold coins equal one Purple note.
A Blue Paper note equals 100 Purple notes. However, Blue Paper note was readily available to the public, only used by the government and royal family.
A couple of hundreds of meters from Long-Fall Pass, a group of people were riding their horses with great force, leaving a trail of dust after them. Everyone on the horse in dark knight armor gives out a frightening aura. On their waist was a sharp sword.
"Captain, are you sure it save in Long-Fall Pass. Everyone knows that the monster beast could attack at any time." A burly man shouted with his long brown beard flustered with the wind.
A young man in his late twenties rode the horse, bending a little forward while holding the horse rein. "According to people. The monster attack happened late in the evening. We only need to get some locals to show us where we can easily hunt rank 1 and rank 2. And before dawn, we are out of the city."
"Better. I don't want to spend any damn seconds in that hell of a city." The burly shouted, soothing his beard.
"I don't know why people choose to live in the city. I heard the curse prince was sent there also." A female voice echoed from the left side of the captain.
"Yes, the prince was just a curse to the city and the Blue-Fire family. I perfectly understand why the City lord banished the cursed son."
"What's that!?" A shout came behind the three at the front.
Everyone raised their head when they heard the sudden shout. They inhaled a deep breath and slowed the speed of their horse. Their eyes darted from one side to another.
"Is this really Long-Fall Pass." The burly man whispered.
"We will soon find out. Everyone, be on guard." The captain announced with a stern voice. He tapped his black horse and the horse pick up speed.
After a couple of minutes, the knight arrived near the City wall. Their hands rested on their sword while their gaze was fixed on two young men sitting under a tent with a table. They looked at them casually without any fear.
"Get down from your horse. You need to register before entering the city" One of the young men shouted.
The five adventurer's knights looked at each other and waited for a moment. The captain of the team looked at the surrounding. 'Where did they get the confidence to stop us. No one dared to stop an adventurer. Let me see where your confidence comes from.' He snorted.
Hiyaah
The captain charged forward without uttering a word. At once, the others charged after their captain, looking at the two men in disdain. 'Let' 's see how you stop us. Idiots.' They thought. When they noticed, the two didn't try to stop them. They raised their brow.
'Something is different about this city. This doesn't match what the people say about Long-Fall Pass.' He thought, but he didn't slow his speed.
"Is that a bridge?" The burly man said in a low voice.
"Why would they put that there." The female asked in puzzlement.
"Let's find out." The captain answered.
Unknown to the adventurers, a red flag had been raised by one of the men in the tent. When the adventurers were a few feet from the bridge, suddenly, the bridge raised into the air. What!
When the adventurers widened their eyes and gasped. Just then, the captain saw a deep tunnel with various sharp metal inside. His heart missed a beat. "Stop!" He shouted.
However, it was too late. Those at the back didn't see the tunnel and failed to stop their horse in time.
Whoosh!
Two of the adventurers jumped inside the tunnel with their eyes widen. "Help!!!" They screamed. In the end…
The three leading adventurers stopped at the end of the death tunnel, gasping for air. Their chest rising and falling. Perspiration formed on their faces. For a couple of minutes, none of the three said anything.
Their eyes are glued to the death of their teammates. No part of their body was left in place. The sharp metal pierced everything, turning them smitten. Their armor was nothing but a piece of paper.
"What are we going to do?" The burly man whispered.
The Captain took a deep breath and raised his head. He was flabbergasted by the bridge that was still hanged in the air. 'What the hell. This is nothing like what the people say.' He screamed in his heart.
"Go and register. This is your last warning. If you tried to ignore the Long-Fall Pass law again. None of you will leave in one piece." A cold female voice came from the city wall.
The three adventurers looked at the city wall but couldn't see anyone. Unknown to them, their back was drenched in cold sweats. The burly man's hands trembled. He looked at the tunnel and took a step back and shivered.
"Let's go and register." The captain whispered and squinted his gaze, looking at the city wall.
Standing in front of the two men under the tent, the three adventurers took a deep breath and dared not looked down on these two people with merely rank 2 novice stage. The two men looked at the faces of the three and the edge of their lips curved in upward in disdain.
"Why are you in Long-Fall Pass and how many days are you preparing to stay." The young man sitting asked taking, an ink brush.
"We're adventurers. We hunt monster beasts. We shall spend three days in the city." The captained.
"OK! That would cost you two Green LP, each."
'What the hell is Green LP!'
