Glaring at Rose, the butler turned her gaze away once she looked back at her. She forcefully opened Damon's eyes, examining them. She then looked at Rose. "I need to call in more demons. I don't know how to handle this."
Rose nodded, walking over to Damon's side. She missed the sly smile on the butler's face, who walked out of the room. Gently running her hands through his hair, she assured him, "I'll always be by your side, Damon. It does not matter what you do, or what happens. I'll always be by your side. I promise. Just wake up, okay, and then we go to a place far away from here, and live the perfect life together. Wouldn't you like that? To put all these demons and Protectors behind us?"
Expecting Damon to wake up, or even have a slight movement, Rose was left disappointed. She sighed, and pouted. "Why won't you wake up? Please wake up," she sobbed, leaning her head on his chest.
The door flung open with a loud thud. Rose flinched at the sound, turning around. She saw the butler with three other demons. Standing up she smiled, "Are you here to help him?" she asked, with wide eyes.
The butler smiled, "Of course they are here to help him. But we need to take him to one of our lairs, in the Demon Realm. You should come with us as well."
Not seeing anything wrong with the request, Rose smiled sweetly. "Okay! But what about the Protector?"
"I've already taken care of her," the butler replied. She held Rose's hand, vanishing into a dark smoke with her.
Rose and the butler found themselves outside Echo's cage.
"What is going on?" the butler asked. She took a quick look around assessing the situation. "Why are you locked up here? What happened?"
Echo was sitting inside the cage, holding her stomach, "I don't know. The Onix found me and put me in here."
Rose stared at Echo, and the butler in confusion, "I thought you said you'll handle her, and where's Damon?"
The butler punched the stone wall in anger, "They tricked us. They sent us here, taking Damon to the Onix. Damon is weak now, he cannot fend for himself."
"They won't hurt him, will they?" Rose asked in anxiety. She took a quick glance at the butler and Echo as if they were both doing something that she couldn't miss.
Echo stared at Rose, "What do you think?" She eyed the butler who spoke.
"We need to try to get back to Damon." The butler held Rose's hand, and turned into a dark smoke. The unbelievable occured, instead of being teleported out of the room, they were now inside the cage.
Echo stared at the butler in confusion. She had tried to get her sword back by using the spell the witches gave her, but the cage had some sort of barrier that was affecting her magic. How was the butler able to teleport into the cage? She did not voice her question, instead becoming weary of the butler.
Rose's eyebrows rose as she glanced around. "Why are we inside the cage? What is happening? Why are we inside here? Aren't we on the same side with the demons?" She was panicking, turning around in circles. Her mind was almost tearing apart. She could not believe what was happening around her.
"Rose, you need to calm down. You will just get sick if you worry too much. Sit down, we'll find a way out of this," the butler reassured Rose.
Not paying attention to the butler's words, Echo leaned her head back on the railings of the cage. If everything goes well with Hunter, maybe the Protectors would come to rescue them. The embarrassment she would have to face again would be horrible. For a moment she pondered if it would be much better if she died in captivity, but she couldn't lose hope. She needed to help Damon out of here. They had a whole life ahead of them, maybe even having a few kids like the commander and Jasmine. Hopefully they won't be anything like the commander's kids.
The thought put a smile on Echo's face. She was able to picture Damon and her with three children. They ran through the field in the Protectors Manor, playing catch. For a split second she forgot about the situation they were in, and her eyes twinkled with happiness.
Seeing Echo's smile, the butler glared at her, "What could possibly make you so happy in a situation like this, that you are smiling like an idiot?"
Snapping out of her dream world, Echo glanced at the butler. She sighed, 'Couldn't she just keep her thoughts to herself? I don't go around asking her why she acts like a legit psycho sometimes.' Thinking to herself, Echo just gave an icy stare to the butler.
The butler gulped. Was her secret out in the open? Why was the Protector staring at her like that?
Noticing every small detail in the butler's body language, Echo began to suspect her more. Was the butler just afraid of her because she was a Protector, or did she actually have something to hide? The butler was rude to her the last time, so it couldn't be that she was scared of her. Then why was she acting so different? Was she actually worried about Damon?
"Protector!" Rose called out.
Echo turned her gaze to the human who had put them in their current position. "What do you want, human?"
"You are a Protector! You must have some plan to get us out of here!"
'The audacity in this... human!' Echo mentally yelled at the girl.
"You do know that you are the reason all of this is....!" Echo paused. She was trying to stand up, but winced in pain and sat back down.
Rose glared at Echo, "You are supposed to be a Protector! You should be able to get us out of here, but instead you're just crying in pain like a little baby!" She made a pouting face mocking Echo.
