Rose held Damon's hand, "Please calm down, Damon. I told you she couldn't be trusted. She knows nothing about loyalty. She even harassed me last night!"
Echo's eyes darted at Damon and Rose's hand. She glared at Damon with a raised eyebrow, and felt chills run down her spine when she noticed his dark eyes. "W-what are you doing?"
"I was about to ask you the same question!" Damon replied, turning his gaze to Echo. "Why are you out here with Denzel?"
'Oh so he's angry because I am spending time with Denzel? What about him going out for breakfast with Rose, and not even once thinking about how I was supposed to find breakfast?' Echo thought to herself. She crossed her arms on her chest and tilted her slightly, with a little eyebrow twitch. This man in front of her was driving her all kinds of crazy. She did not want to yell at him and make a scene in front of everyone, but at the same time she wanted to rip his head off.
Denzel sighed, finally speaking, "I brought you your girlfriend! And this is how you treat me?"
Damon glanced at Denzel. He was bringing her to him, he never would have thought of the situation that way. He raised an eyebrow, questioning the demon, "You brought her to me? Why would you do that?" Damon wanted to know if Denzel had some other intentions for bringing Echo to the restaurant. It just didn't sit right with him that Denzel would just bring Echo to him.
"Doubt me all you want, kid. I have much important work to be doing that getting involved in such petty issues with you," Denzel scoffed, leaving the table. He smirked as he turned away from the table, and strode out of the restaurant.
Damon sighed, he glanced at Echo, who was staring closely at his and Rose's hand that were still together. "You walked in here holding his hand. Why can't she hold mine?"
Echo silently turned her gaze to his eyes. "I don't have time to babysit you two either. I'm going back to the mansion!" She kept her hand on the table as she was about to stand up, but stopped when she felt Damon's hand on hers.
"You haven't had breakfast! Eat something before you go," Damon spoke in a gentle voice, as he trapped her hand in his.
Wide eyed, Echo stared at Damon's hand, and then at Damon.
Rose too had her eyes on Damon's hand that was intertwined with Echo's. She felt her body heat up with anger. Damon said that he had a binding spell on the Protector, but why was he so caring towards her, and Denzel had called her his girlfriend. She was not having any of it. She just wanted to push Echo away, far away from Damon, so that he could be safe again. To Rose, Echo was not someone to be trusted.
Rose stood up, pushing her chair back abruptly, and making a loud noise, getting the attention of the other guests. "I WANT TO GO HOME!" She crossed her hands, pouted and turned away like a toddler.
Echo opened her mouth to speak, but shut it instantly knowing that if she said something she would regret it.
Annoyed with everything that was happening, Damon dropped his head on the table. "What a messed up day!" he mumbled to himself, "Are they babysitting me, or is it the other way around?" He lifted his head, and glared at both Rose and Echo.
"Rose!" he called out, "Please sit. We'll talk about this!"
"NO! I WANT TO GO HOME!" Rose shouted, still looking the other way.
Damon hit his head on the table, 'If someone told me being a powerful demon meant babysitting a human... I would rather have died,' he cursed his life.
"Please! Let's just talk like normal people before shouting around a restaurant and causing a scene!" Damon spoke as he looked at Rose with soft eyes. His voice was so gentle and charming, almost like he was trying to reason with a young child.
Rose pursed her lips, and turned to face Damon. She had her hands crossed, and her brows were creased. "I don't want to be at a table with her!"
"Why not?" Damon asked.
Echo was enjoying every little moment of what was happening. Was Rose not embarrassed at the scene she was making? She was acting like a child, and Damon was playing right into her trap. Was this demon so easily manipulated? Echo leaned back on her chair, and watched the drama unfold.
Rose glanced at Echo, "SHE'S A PROTECTOR! WHY WOULD SHE BE ANYWHERE NEAR DEMONS!" The sides of her lips curved slightly as she shouted the sentence at the top of her lungs.
What was Rose doing? Damon's eyes darted towards the other guests and the staff. Everyone who was currently in the restaurant were demons, thus announcing the presence of a Protector was the worst thing that could happen.
The guests stood up as their eyes turned dark. They were ready to fight for their lives, since for them having a Protector among them in their daily life was a high level threat. If the Protectors knew their daily routine the grand plan would be lost easily.
Closing her eyes, Echo inhaled calmly. There were two ways this would end, either Damon got everyone under control, or they would have to fight their way out of the restaurant. The latter would most likely cause their plan to fail.
Damon grabbed Rose's hand, and pulled her down to her seat. "What are you doing?"
"Telling them the truth. They need to know who they are sharing a roof with. If you are too delusional to see how stupid you are being, then someone else has to protect you," Rose replied. She was proud of herself, since she thought she was actually helping Damon. Little did she know she had made a grave mistake that could cost them their lives.
