Echo glanced at Hunter and sighed, remembering her mission. She closed her eyes, and massaged her temples. Hunter leaned on her, keeping her head on Echo's lap.
Falling back on the bed, Echo stared at the ceiling, "We have a mission to do, and here I am sitting in my crush's house."
"So you admit that he's your crush?" Hunter asked.
"Yes." Echo reached down to Hunter's head, and petted her.
The door opened, Echo raised her chest while arching her back, and looked behind. Damon was staring at her, standing near the door.
Echo immediately stood up, and turned to him. He was holding a pile of clothes in his hands, while his gaze was on her. Echo smiled, feeling awkward, she did not know why he was staring at her, it made her feel really uncomfortable, and shy.
"I-I…" he stuttered, staring at her. To him she looked so cute, her shy smile, and the way she immediately glanced away from him. He wanted to just hold her close to him, and never let her go. Swallowing hard, Damon looked at the ground, and back at Echo, breaking his trance like state. "I… brought you some clothes."
"Thanks. Just leave them on the bed, I'll go take a shower." She smiled sweetly.
He kept the clothes on the bed, and then turned to face her, standing close to her, "I didn't know what you might like, so I just… I brought a pile of them… You could select whichever one you want." He looked down, as she raised her head to look at his face.
She smiled cutely, and her gaze fell on the pile of clothes, "That's a lot of clothes to pick from."
"Yeah! I know," Damon replied, scratching the back of his head.
Echo nodded, and looked at the door to the bathroom. "Uhm… I should go take a shower." She smiled.
"Yeah! Sure," he nodded, and watched her walk to the bathroom. He sighed in relief once the door closed behind her. His hand went to his face, as he sat on the bed.
Echo leaned on the door, sighing. 'That was so embarrassing. I didn't know what to do,' she thought to herself. Locking the door, she walked to the sink, staring at herself in the mirror. She took her clothes off, and stepped into the shower.
After the shower, she wrapped herself in a purple towel. Everything in the bathroom was purple too, it was her favourite colour. She had told Damon about it, but didn't expect he'd have a whole room in a purple theme. Was all this purple for her? Or did he make the room for someone else?
The thought of someone else with Damon made her sad. She sighed, 'I don't even know if he has a girlfriend and here I am thinking he did all this for me. Maybe that was why he slept on the ground. He could have a girlfriend. It's been a year… he really could have a girlfriend. Maybe I should ask him… there's nothing wrong with asking, right?'
After staring in the mirror for a while, Echo peeked her head out of the bathroom door, 'Is he in the room? I forgot to pick the clothes… Oh good! He's not here.'
Sheepishly walking out of the bathroom, she locked the door to the room, and began picking clothes. She picked a baggy t-shirt, and trousers. After she got dressed, she heard a knock on the door. Echo walked to the door, and opened it. Damon stood outside with a tray full of food.
"What's all this?" Echo asked.
"Breakfast!"
Damon walked into the room, and kept the tray on the table. He turned to look at Echo, with a smile he stated, "My clothes are too big for you."
Echo smiled, and licked her lips, "It's really comfortable though."
Damon stared at her with a smirk, and then broke the silence, "Sit, and eat. I took a break from work, so that I could take care of you today."
"You did what?" Echo asked, staring at Damon. "Why did you take a break from work?"
He was confused, "I just told you."
Echo facepalmed, "You don't have to take a break from work for me… wait! Where's Hunter?" She looked around the room for the cub, and then looked at Damon who had a smirk on his face. Her eyes became small, as she stared at him, "What did you do with Hunter?"
Damon chuckled, "She's fine, she wanted to take a dip in the pool."
"What pool?"
Echo saw him tilt his head towards the window, where he walked. She followed him to see a large pool covering the whole backyard.
"Whoa!" was the only word that came to Echo's mouth. Her eyes immediately scanned for Hunter, and she turned to Damon, "Where is she?"
"I asked her to wait for us… Trust me, she's fine," Damon reached for Echo's hand.
Echo felt his hand brush hers, as he walked to the bed, sitting down. She turned back to look out of the window.
Damon sighed, watching her stand at the window for several minutes. "I'll go get her if you feel anxious without her."
"You don't…" Echo turned around to see Damon gone. She sighed, and walked to the table, inspecting the food. There was chicken, fruits, and some pork laid on the tray.
"And I brought her," Damon appeared behind Echo. She turned to see him, holding the cub in his hands.
"Hunter. Have you eaten?" Echo asked, taking the cub from Damon. She was standing so close to him, she could feel his breath ruffling the top of her hair next to her forehead. She looked up, and her eyes locked with his. She stopped breathing. He was so close to her, she just wanted to reach out and touch his face.
His brown eyes were mesmerising, his perfect eyelashes, alongside his perfect jawline… everything about him was perfect to her.
Damon felt his Adam's apple bob. She looked so cute staring at him, the way her eyes lit up by the window behind him. The little redness in her cheeks. Everything was just adorable about her, while she raised her head slightly to see his face.
