Trolls, brutes of the mountains that were having rocky bodies and huge stature. Very fierce and had large bodies, arms were able to uproot trees. Towering and as tall as the ones they uproot. Minding that they were able to smash you into pulp with their trees as weapons.
Being native monsters of the rocky bridges, they were fast to reproduce and ambushes many travelers on the way. Making their numbers spread forth until they managed to reach human settlements. Making many lives lost while they surprised them towards their deaths.
Located at the rocky bridges, the wind was howling and the four were looking at the bridge made of rocks. Troan was sure of it, that it was a troll bridge. Knowing it as it has many broken carriages and carts beside it. It also has some crushed skeletons and others have missing skulls. Probably eaten and was put to waste. Only the bones remained.
They walked towards the top of the bridge and carefully stepped on the bricks. Not wanting the ones to be alerted.
"Troan, how do we know that it is what it is?" Mikael asked curiously.
"You can sense it as obviously as much scattered debris of a fight that broke out. Especially when the bridge is breathing," Troan said.
"Breathing?" asked Sendrick.
"Yep, listen," Troan said then crouched. Listening on the brick bridge.
The others listened too and could hear the audible sound of sleeping. Snoring lightly then breathed out. Also, have some slight changes in the pattern of breathing but it was breathing nonetheless!
"Whoa, it is!" Mark almost bellowed
They were surprised at how Troan was so knowledgeable about such things. To make it clear, he was equipped and was the best to lead them. They didn't regret it at least once.
"So how do we fight them?" asked Sendrick.
"We wake them up! You can just walk towards the center and they will feel that there's a weight that is put on them. And they will feel it especially when it is heavy, like a carriage or some sort," Troan said.
"Oh, okay, then we will go stomping the bridge?" asked Mark.
"Yep! But do be careful, they burst in an uproar and the bridge will be blown along the way. They have such cruelty when it comes to ambushing," Troan said.
"Ah I see, well who's going to be the bait?" asked Sendrick.
"I can manage, at least I am the fastest to evade them and escape. Wish me luck," Troan announced then tapped Sendrick's shoulders.
It was then that Troan marched towards the bridge after crouching. The others were still doing so and they went to cheer him up deep inside their mind. Wishing for his safety at the moment.
Steps were audible and were casually hopping on the bridge. Troan then made some skip steps on the bridge and stepped on some loose tile. Making it sunk in the process.
"Here it goes!" Troan announced.
Soon, the rumbling of the bridge was heard and the bridge exploded.
Boom!
Roar!
The others were in slight panic after seeing Troan evade such debris. Making them almost hop in distress.
Troan ran for his life and the Trolls finally awakened. Four were sleeping on the bridge and were woken up by one of them. Scratching their heads while still being drowsy. They stood and they were angered by Troan's presence. Thinking that they were disturbed. This time, they grabbed a tree and uprooted it. Swiping the branches then made it into a giant wooden club.
Roar!
The towering trolls stood ready to attack them and Troan was thinking twice about whether they will survive this predicament or not. Not wanting to be food or a limp corpse after the said trial through fire.
"We will battle four at once! Mikael and Sendrick, you have blunt weapons so you are the key players! Blunt is their weakness!" Troan announced.
"Yes boss!" they chorused.
"They are slow in their attacks so evade them! Hammer and slash their Achilles heels as it is also their weak point! Then we can think of eliminating them one by one!" Troan commanded.
Troan then ran towards them, others followed through with his attack.
"Mark! Both of us should target the Achilles heels while Sendrick and Mikael will do the finishing blow!" Troan said.
"Sure!"
They coordinated their attacks and then one troll smashed its weapon on Troan. Troan rolled to the side and slashed its heel on the back.
Swish!
Roar!
It was then forced to kneel and Mikael jumped at it. Hammering his two-handed hammer at his face.
Bang!
It then crashed to the ground while wailing. Mark then jumped and stabbed its chest with his two-handed weapon.
One down and three still to go. Its comrades then were infuriated by their kill. They ran towards them and only to see their dead comrade on the process lying on the ground.
Mark then ran towards them, evading their slow strikes and the weapon whooshed as it passed him. Making him roll while evading. Troan followed through and he went past their front. Slashing one Achilles heel on his attack.
Mark also made his attack and two went down immediately after the two attacked. Sendrink and Mikael then hammer them while they were down.
Bang! Bang! Boom!
Their attacks were dealing damage and the enemies were hammered nonstop. They tried to retaliate by swinging their weapons and they only rolled as they evaded. Not reaching them was one and also, the enemies were greatly weakened by their blunt damage.
Troan then ran and leaped towards one of the faces of the enemy and then stabbed its forehead. Dealing critical blow on it. It went down immediately after several seconds of his sword being embedded on its head.
One remained and then it was a stalemate. They were greatly exhausted by their tiring movements and maneuvers. Making them pant while wiping their sweat on the process.
Roar!
It bellowed as it saw its comrades has fallen. It then attacked them furiously and swings its weapon nonstop. Smashing them left and right with its weapon.
Bang! Bang! Boom!
The debris was scattered and some trees were blown upon its attacks. Troan and the others were alarmed. They were greatly exhausted and they were at the end of their flight.
"Last!" Troan bellowed.
They soon attacked and the enemy was surrounded. Troan slashed one Achilles heel and Mark on the other. Sendrick then leaped and hammered its face with his one-handed hammer.
Bang!
They barraged their blows and then the enemy wailed. Letting out its last breath as it died. The enemy was killed and then a skill crystal appeared.
It boasts of a +1 skill point that can be applied to your skill book to increase the mastery of your skill. Breaking it on the page itself.
"Whoohoo! We survived!" Sendrick said then he slammed his butt on the ground.
"That is a blast! That is what you get when messing with us!" Mark said to them.
"Haha," Troan chuckled.
The trees were blown, rocks were unearthed, and the ground caved in. From the destruction of the terrain, floated the crystals that were glowing in a radiant glow. Yellowish and were afloat.
They watched it and were in utter disbelief. They didn't think that they would survive such a predicament and come this far. Without thinking twice, they approached the crystals. One on each of them.
They collected the skill crystals that floated and then they all decided to go home. Passing their tree roots home while being ready to arrive at the village. Saying goodbye to such a place was hard. Troan will remember such a place forever. Deeply wanted to go home but he glanced at it one last time.
The tent sticks and the fire pit inside. Their cozy hole for sleeping and the tree that protects or hides them from enemies.
'Bye.' Troan muttered.
It was then, that they started traveling back towards the village. They were bolstered with great energy after reaping such rewards. Also, they were happy to survive such predicaments. The seven risings of the sun from the day of their deployment have arrived.
They approached the village gates with pride and they came back more experienced. Others felt like veterans standing on the fronto of the gate but not for Troan. He always thought that he still lacks strength and prowess. Making him sigh at the others. They didn't know what greater dangers awaited them in the future. Thinking of existences like Demon gods was not scoffing matter.
Upon the rising of the sun on the east, the gate was opened with a creaking sound. Stood in front of them were sir William and sir Gerald. They looked at them with proud eyes as they marched inside.
