Meanwhile, on the west side of the Elven Croft Palace.
Kyra was standing alone in the middle of the Isle of Moor. All the houses are destroyed beyond repair. There's no longer a trace of that colorful, bountiful town she got used to see whenever she gazed from the Elven Croft Tower.
There was nothing that was left. Only debris from broken houses and burning materials. Right now, there was nobody who could help her.
Lester was not seen on site. Hundreds of bodies of the royal guards are lying on her feet. And standing a few hundred meters from her... is the man she saw in the projected image at the High Court.
What was even more unbelievable was the number of figures slouching behind him. There were at least five thousand. Each figure is familiar, one after another.
Unlike in the High Court, the Ice Demon is no longer smiling. He has lost his laid-back, arrogant attitude.
"You killed Fjall?!"
Beside the Ice Demon, there was another long haired black demon with a zither in his hand. For some reason, Kyra is more on guard against him than the Ice Demon.
Kyra looked around her. She controlled her lotus vines to search for her mother. She can feel the vines travelling underneath the ground. Attracted to any sounds produced above ground, and yet there was no sign of her mother. Further north, she frown at the strange behavior of her vines. They can't slither and cross a certain land.
'Why?'
The vines send her a sensation of an eerie mana that she knows very well. She looked thoughtful. That's the power of her father. If one land is contaminated by his mana, it cannot be undone.
That certain area will no longer flourish for all eternity. Is there a more formidable demon present in the fairy realm other than the Ice Demon and this long haired one?
"Unbelievable!" The Ice Demon suddenly growled. Taking her thoughts back to the current situation. She looked up at his fiery red eyes.
"Master, please don't worry. I will kill this fairy right here, right now. "
The long haired guy he called Master has his face covered by his long hair. She couldn't see his expression, but Kyra could feel his stare beneath it. Penetratingly cold and ruthless.
Kyra's hand was ringing. Her hold on her sword is shaking. The battle against the Fire Demon was not easy for her. If it wasn't for her lotus, she would be dead.
Kyra remembered how deadly the ice blast wave from this demon was. It led to the deaths of the Twelve Elders. It killed hundreds of royal guards on her feet.
The Ice Demon takes a spear out of thin air. It was a weapon with a shiny pointy blade and a frosty built. Ice imbedded gems decorate the body.
Those gems are not just decorations. It's a mana-imbued switch that can double or triple the owner's strength as attacks are delivered.
As she faced them, an impending fear grew in her heart. She's clearly not feeling well. She suddenly wanted to check on her mother again. This impulse haopened twice now.
Did something happen to her?
Kyra tried to shake off the heavy feelings and stared ahead. She must focus. The Ice Demon lunged at her.
His speed, as expected, is faster than the naked eye. She can't track his movements. If it wasn't for the dent and crisp sidestep he made, Kyra wouldn't have known he was actually on his side.
She swung her sword and deflected his attack. The impact was so strong she was forced to step back thrice.
The Ice Demon retracted his spear and made a head slice. She blocked it. He did a three hundred sixty-degree turn and leap. The spear was aiming to split her head. She blocked it.
Yet this time, his attack wasn't that simple. A fast spreading frost climb on Kyra's sword handle. It scattered like wild fire, numbing her arms.
She gritted her teeth and shoved him back. Her vines immediately crawled over and treated her frost-bitten skin.
In a matter of seconds, she healed. The long haired demon's eyes were latched onto her vines. There was something in his stare that made her shiver in fear.
The Ice Demon clicked his tongue.
"Is this it? Is that all you can do? I thought ethereal stage fairies like you have more destructive power. " He abruptly stopped.
"Oh, right. You don't. Because unlike the Elven folks, you wield the most useless pathetic attribute. You could have passed for naiads with a pretty face like yours and that average attribute. You're incredibly lucky, eh? To be born as an elf but without their qualities. "
The Ice Demon change the shape of his spear. The pointy top is no longer sharp; instead, the upper half was turned into a long blade. More gems redecorated the lower body.
"Let me ask you, Princess. Are you really that prideful king's daughter? "
The Ice Demon charge again. And this time, everything in him—speed, agility, strength doubled. Kyra was forced to defend. She kept blocking every vicious strike, but the more she tried to keep up with him, the more her strength was drained.
Another heavy leap strike drive her almost to her knees. Her legs bent unconsciously, making her lose her footing.
The Ice Demon took this chance and sliced her across her shoulders. An ugly cut pries through her combat white and blue clothes.
She winced at the pain. A cold frost spread from the wound, paralyzing her nerves. She's having a hard time breathing because of the pain. As if making her suffer in agony wasn't enough, the Ice Demon raised his spear.
Change the tip into a pointy sharp blade again and pierce Kyra's abdomen.
Kyra bit down on her tongue just to stop herself from screaming.
The Ice Demon laughed and kicked her head.
"Hahaha! This is who you say killed the Fire Demon?!" He kicked her right at the wound he penetrated. making her groan.
"Shut up." He stomped on her nose, breaking the small bone beneath.
