Yeah, all she could do was close her eyes and be ready for the attack, the pain, and the end of her life but the more she stayed still the weirder she felt with nothing coming her way.
Roar!
She heard Lu Yang Yang gasp and the weight on her vanish.
A sudden thunderous roar spreads across the forest, she feels the sudden lift off of her chest, panting, she slowly peeks her eyes open, and she hears a loud thud, one head from above her seems missing.
She focuses on the other to see it howling and growling as it runs ahead with the other one following after, leaving her alone, Yi Hua gasps jolting up and sitting squarely on the ground as her chest heaves out with the amount of deep and shaky breath she was taking in.
Just then, she heard another thud, a second one, and then another coming up continuously, she snapped her head around and what she saw frightened her to the core.
She screams out loud, scooting away while Lu Yang Yang flinches, focusing back on Yi Hua instead of the fight ahead, he floats to her and stands by her side.
"Yang Yang, what is going on? Why is there such a big lion fighting with those terrifying beasts?!!" Yi Hua asks, trying to catch her breath, she wipes the tear-off of her cheeks with the sleeve of her robe, Lu Yang Yang looks at her and then at the lion.
"I have no idea." Lu Yang Yang mutters, watching ahead.
The lion did save her life, intentionally or not but it sure did. Her eyes widened seeing the lion so abnormally bigger than one she has ever seen in a zoo or on national television.
This was so unexpected, it got her heart beating fast as if she was getting lightheaded.
"It seems to be protecting you…Hua. He is fighting for you." Lu Yang Yang says, tearing up, Yi Hua, now composed and rational watches the lion attack the three beasts with his paws with every punch of its energy.
"But…why? Why would it protect me?" Yi Hua asks, feeling grateful despite how her words seem, Lu Yang Yang, sniffs, "I am so glad it did. I…I am so sorry Hua. I shouldn't have left you alone and used up my energy." Lu Yang Yang apologizes with a burden in his heart.
"Don't blame yourself. I asked you for that and… it's me who had us end up in this foreign land. I am sorry." She speaks, with her own heavy heart swelling because of the emotional rollercoaster she had just gone through.
She raises her hands to see them trembling, "Oh god." She mutters, crying out in relief.
She looks up with a grateful smile on her lips, watching the lion successfully defeating one beast to its death while it still fought the other two, she gasps when one of the beasts suddenly attacks the lion from behind, its sharp claws tearing a part of its skin by the abdomen.
A loud roar echoes through the forest as it lands limp on the ground whimpering, she finds her eyes tearing up. "No, get up." She mutters, growing worried for her life-saver.
She stands up, "Come on, get up! Scare them away! You can do it, Mr. Lion!" Yi Hua shouts, unconsciously, Lu Yang Yang blinks his eyes and smiles at her act.
The lion looks her way, and she yelps as her eyes meet his red ones, they suddenly burn blue before the lion roars out loud getting his red eyes back, standing on his feet, it flung onto one of the beasts and bit his neck as the blood gushes out leaving the beast cries out a horrifying cry of pain.
The beast which was fighting with the lion was badly injured to even stand up, it remained gasping for air as it slowly inched closer to death with each drop of blood leaving out of its body.
With a horrifying growl, the one beast that remained approached the lion, Yi Hua looked around for a stone growing angrier all of a sudden, "How dare you try to kill me!" She shouts, throwing the rock which hits the beast straight on its head which had it distracted.
The lion turns back and jumps on that beast, killing it in one sharp bite by its neck which had it wiggling on the ground for life, Yi Hua claps her hand in victory, and Lu Yang Yang floats by her shoulder, "Are you that happy?" He asks, looking at the lion ahead licking its fur.
"Of course-"
Yi Hua's words stuck in her throat as she met the lion's gaze, again, but this time fear creeps up her spine when it starts making its way towards her, "Oh, haha….he is coming our way. Is he gonna kill me?" Yi Hua mutters, and Lu Yang Yang clears his throat.
"Who knows…probably run?"Lu Yang Yang says, looking at her with the look that screamed, 'run' which she understood but her feets remained stuck, she couldn't move at all.
"I can't feel my leg." She says, with a scared and worried tone, "What?" Lu Yang Yang asks, surprised.
"I feel numb…my legs are trembling." Yi Hua says, she drops to the ground the moment her words stop coming up, she closes her eyes, and takes in a deep breath, "You saved me." She mumbles, trying to act brave.
She looks up, and she screams as she sees the lion's face so close to hers, on top of that, the bloodied face which seemed of rotten flesh, "You stink…just move a little back." She says, regretting just so suddenly and she cups her mouth shut.
"I…I am sorry. I should go." She says, scooting behind while the lion catches up with a step ahead, Lu Yang Yang floats around her head, "Hua, stand up and run!" He shouts, urging her to do so.
"Stop yelling! I am trying, can't you see?!" Yi Hua snaps but she whimpers as she hears a little roar coming out of the lion, Lu Yang Yang goes back to the cat and tries to get in but he ends up coming through from inside of the body instead of standing up.
He floats back to Yi Hua and holds her head, "What should we do?" Lu Yang Yang asks, worried, "I sure am dying today." Yi Hua mutters, and both of them close their eyes shut when the lion roars out loud, trembling heavily.
