Chapter 23 - MVP

{"I don't know if you guys have noticed but it seems that JLNC's off-laner is like a thorn sprouting to avenge her teammates that are being preyed on or defeated."} Gino Morin pointed out his observation

Luxy's Accendere had 25% of damage and Fiore's Tremare had 25% of damage as well so the match seemed fair and square until Key ran into the bushes, confusing her opponent and the viewers.

"Are you scared?" El who had just roamed back to the middle lane asked when he saw Key's shinigami retreating to the bushes only for a red sprout to appear underneath the opponent's shinigami dealing a lot of damage to the opponent's mid-laner

"You were saying?" Key has a mischievous grin after the opponent's shinigami was drained of its blood

Opal's Coraje had started to contain the opponent's Chikara after it resurrected and headed back to the top lane, stopping him from developing and farming on him.

Meanwhile, their captain and Quant are currently facing off against Cyber Paw's forward and support as well, engaging in a battle where both sides possess almost the same amount of strength and deal almost equal damage.

That is until the opponent's off-laner decided to join in the battle driving the battle line closer to JLNC's defense tower.

{"Did you see that?! What an entrance!"} Everyone was shocked because of what happened next, the battle that began with just both side's forwards and supports turned into a small-scale team fight with two off-laners joining in and dealing damage

"Wow, I can't believe I don't have a playmate like you and the captain, Quant." There was a hint of grudge in Key's tone as her Fiore dealt the Rubavita that changed the fight's status

Key appeared right next to the newly resurrected opposing off-laner and stole almost all his health, replenishing hers and her teammate's health by distributing the blood as she ran past them.

Although the audience saw her roaming from the middle lane going down, they assumed she was heading to the Hydra's Lair as she was following the route to the said part of the map only for her to pass it, travel through the bushes, and join the small-scale team fight from where Figaro's Intrepidus is standing.

The match didn't last for half an hour because less than half an hour into the game, the golden seven-letter word 'VICTORY' flashed into the screen, with one side earning a grayish screen for being defeated and one side clearly seeing the golden template for being victorious.

Upbeat music played as the players stood up. Once again, like in the first game, JLNC's members headed to shake hands with the opposing team, Cyber Paw.

"Nice game," Quant said while shaking hands with everyone after Rasheed

"Congratulations," Figaro said while shaking Key's hand

"Thank you for the nice game," once again, Key's smile stunned the poor Cyber Paw off-laner

"Nice game," Opal said and shook hands with them

{"Let us congratulate, JLNC!"} Gino Morin announced as the members of JLNC headed to the center of the stage in a line

"J-L-N-C! J-L-N-C! J-L-N-C!" the fans chanted as the players bowed in front of them before heading to the backstage where their resting areas are

"Key, they want to interview the MVP." Bright approached Key who nodded

"Congratulations, Key." Quant and Opal tapped her shoulders before walking past her

"Good luck," El said and went to catch up with Opal and Quant

"Okay…" Key wasn't sure but she still smiled

"Let's go then," Bright assisted her to where the cameras and reporters are

She didn't have any experience being in front of any camera nor to be interviewed, she preferred to live somewhere out of the limelight. She may have indulged and lived with the privilege brought by her family's fortune, she lived in the shadows, away from everyone outside the family's eyes.

She is fully aware that her preference will not be catered upon her entrance into an industry like E-sports but she didn't expect it would be as soon as she finished her first official game.

"Just answer honestly, you'll be fine," Bright advised on their way and she nodded with a smile

"And we have here our first match's MVP," a female reporter said

Clarisse, as that is what is written on her nameplate, handed a microphone usually used by reporters to Key who is smiling shyly in front of the bright lights of the camera.

"No wonder those two hates cameras as well," Key can't help but thought to herself while keeping her smile

"Hello, Kashmiri," Clarisse greeted her and she smiled in response

"What are you feeling right now?" Clarisse asked

"It's my first time in front of a camera so I'm a bit nervous." Key chuckled softly as she answered

"How do you feel to be the first lady to be part of the Prometheus Pro-League?" Key smiled before putting the microphone adjacent to her lips

"I feel honored to represent the ladies, the women of all ages who have been striving to receive equality, the Pro-League honestly is a big leap for me," Key stopped and looked at everyone before continuing

"But, it taught me to be braver and to believe that men and women can be equal at anything." She said

"How is your experience as part of a professional team? How do you think it contributed to you becoming an MVP for two games on your first match?" Clarisse asked and Key smiled again

"Everyone made me feel welcomed," she stopped for a moment as she recalled that the captain chased her out and mistook her for a fan, but she continued with a smile

"They treat me as a teammate. I think what contributed to me becoming MVP the most was the trust they gave me, they didn't make me stand on the side because I'm a girl or treat me inferior because of my gender or my inexperience in the professional league, they let me play as part of the team. Being an MVP just means that I managed to help the team achieve the victory we all worked hard for." Key answered with her eyes glittering like that of a child telling her parents that she made friends in school

Some of the people in the crowd found her cute while others sneered at her expression, thinking that she was just pretending to be a white lotus and trying to take people for a fool.

"Do you know that everyone is curious about you? Can you introduce just who Kashmiri is?" Clarisse dropped the biggest question that people have been asking since Kashmiri's name first appeared in the Pro-League's line-up

"Hello, everyone," Keychantel started and waved her right hand with a sweet smile

"I am Kashmiri of JLNC, 24 years of age but people can also call me by my real name," at the mention of the last three words, everyone's attention was taken and they saw Key's innocent smile as she said;

"Key, or Keychantel Desmond."
