Levi came home after work and was sitting in the living room when Finn passed by him with a smile stuck on his face. Finn was so into his thoughts that he didn't even realize that his brother was sitting on the sofa.
"Finn." he called as he passed by, but he didn't hear him.
Levi grabs a pillow from the sofa and threw it at him, finally catching his attention.
"What?" Finn asked him. "You know dad told me to limit my talks with you unless it was business or an emergency."
"Dad is out on a date with mom so you don't have to worry about him." he told him.
"I still wouldn't take my chances." Finn told him. He raised his hand and moved his finger in a circular motion. "You know what they say. Even the walls have ears."
He turned around to leave when Levi stopped him.
"Hey, you're still my little bro." Levi told him.
"No. What I am is just a mistake that nobody wanted, so stop pretending that you care, okay?" Finn told her, getting angry.
Levi got up and went to him. He placed his hand on his shoulder.
"Hey. I know mom and dad are rough with you, but I always tried to get along with you. You're my brother." he told him.
Finn looked at him like he wanted to get away from a very annoying person as soon as possible.
"I'm only a piece of meat that was accidentally born." he told him, removing Levi's hand from his shoulder and left him.
Levi sighed. He really wanted to make things better with him, but since his parents treat him so badly Finn hated everyone in the house and never expected any love or care from anyone so distant from him from them so much that he felt like a stranger in the house.
He knew that chasing after him would only make things worse, so he just sat back on the sofa and looked at his phone.
He found Plumeria's social account and scrolled through her feed. There wasn't anything special he could find on them, so he just opened up a novel and started reading it.
An hour later, his parents came home and found him in the living room.
"How was dinner?" he asked them.
"It was fun." his mother, Ella, told him with a smile. "How was your date?" she asked, sitting next to him.
"It was good." He told her.
"So good that you took her to the hotel?" His father, Logan asked while eyeing him suspiciously.
Ella looked at him with a surprised expression.
"Hotel?" she asked him.
"It was nothing. Really. I accidentally poured soda on her and she said she was feeling uncomfortable because of the stickiness, so I took her to the hotel so she could wash up while I got her a new dress. That is all. Nothing more, nothing less." he told them which was half a lie and half the truth.
"Good. You better not do anything disrespectful to her. She is the daughter of my best friend." Logan told him, throwing his coat on the sofa.
"Sure, don't worry about it." he told him.
"Oh, for God's sake, Logan. I can't believe that you would say something like that. You know our son would never do something like that." She scolded her husband.
"I know, my dear. I know. I just told him just in case his ahem… you know… he can't control it." he told her.
"Really, Logan?" she asked, not pleased with him.
"Anyway." he said, looking at his son to change the subject. "Bring her home once you two get close. It's been too long since we've last seen her."
"Oh yes, I wanna know what type of woman she became." His mother said with a smile, remembering Plumeria as a child. "She was always a kind and sweet child.
"Manipulative, you mean." he mumbled under his breath.
"What was that, dear?" Ella asked because she didn't hear clearly what he just said.
"Nothing, mom. I just said you would love her." he told her with a fake smile.
She smiled at her son.
"Be nice to her." she told him and kissed his forehead. She got up and looked at him. "I am feeling tired, so I will go to bed early while you boys talk."
She went to Logan and kissed him before she went to her room.
"Where's Finn?" Logan asked, sitting on the sofa in front of him.
"In his room." He told him.
"Did you tell him about meeting her?" Logan asked.
"No, but dad what is he going to do even if he finds out? Which he eventually will." He told him.
"I don't trust him, Levi, and you shouldn't trust him too much as well." Logan told him.
"Why dad? You always told me to keep my distance from him and not to trust him or make him my friend without giving me a proper reason. Why do you hate him so much?" he asked him.
"Some things are better left unsaid. But I warn you, son. One day, he will stab you in the back." Logan told him.
"He's your son too, dad. You should give him a chance to be your son. I have never seen you close with him ever since he was little." he told him.
Logan waved his hand dismissively at him.
"Forget about it. Tell me about work." he told him.
Levi didn't say anything further and talked about work with him. He knew that his parents hated him to the point where they would slap him for almost the same mistakes that Levi used to make and he really wanted to know why so he could make them come in peace with each other but neither his parents nor his brother was making that easier for him.
He loved his brother and wanted to get close to him ever since he was little, but the only one who he opened up to was Plumeria.
Levi knew that Finn had some feelings towards her, and he knew that she did as well. What he was planning would definitely hurt his brother, but Levi thought that he didn't deserve a two faced woman like Plumeria and he was later going to expose her for her true colors.
