Chapter 8 - She Would Kill This Grandson Of Hers

Daniel had never felt so useless until now. While Young Chul was busy answering one phone call after the other and trying to resolve the scandal, he had nothing to do, and that made him feel worthless. He had not intended for all of this to happen, he just wanted to help.

Young Chul released a long deep breath after he was done. The issue was more stressful than he thought and he rubbed the back of his head to relieve the pain there.

Just as he thought, the news had gone viral and the netizens were very furious with him. President Kang has always portrayed himself as a conservative and righteous young man which was why one of the hottest rules of the company was limited communication between the opposite sex.

The workers of the company were quite sensitive to that particular rule since defaulting means immediate dismissal from work. Hence, aside from work matters, men and women were not seen in the company of one another.

Not to talk of dating.

The president himself prohibited work romance since it resulted in low efficiency on the worker's side. In one word, once you worked for K Group, you're married to your job and all other distractions were not welcomed.

At first, the rules had sparked public outrage as netizens claimed they infringed on their rights. But then, no one forced them to work in the first place and the workers voluntarily agreed to it hence nothing could be done to them.

Moreover, this was K Group, the highest conglomerate in the country and was at the top globally. They had power on their side and won every suit filed against them.

Young Chul barely sat down when he heard the president say, "I'm sorry,"

"Eh?" Surprise was etched on his face.

"My carelessness put you in trouble once again, I'm very sorry." Daniel Kang said humbly.

But Young Chul waved it off, "You don't have to worry about it and there's no need to apologize, president. It's not like you wanted that to happen in the first place,"

But Kang Daniel was insistent, "It's imperative that one put himself in others' shoes. We are all one in making and should honor one another." He declared boldly.

Young Chul blinked once, twice, stunned. It was times like this that he couldn't help but imagine a holy halo around the president's head because he behaved as if he wasn't of this world.

Even before he became his PA, Young Chul has worked as a secretary to different executives and none of them treated him as well as president Daniel did - although he was a handful.

While he was nothing but a worker on payroll to them, president Daniel treated him like an equal - as if there was no status difference between them. And that was the only reason he stuck by his side even though he landed him in hot soups sometimes with his atypical actions.

Young Chul shook his head, president Daniel would do better in the olden days than now. If only he knew.

"You sparked off a controversial issue this time which is why it seems troubling. However, our public relations department has obtained video evidence of our time in the elevator. Although elevator cameras don't record sounds, I'm confident it's enough evidence to clear the accusation. We would have a press conference and make it clear to the public that you are not bent. " He explained to him.

"Oh, is that so?" Daniel nodded, "You've done well. In that case, you tell me what you want as compensation for your handwork, and I'll make sure to see that happen?" He was suddenly feeling magnanimous.

"How about some time away from you?" Young Chul suggested that of course, in his head. He was scared that if he left the president all by himself, he would set the company on fire before he returns from his break.

At the moment, he was not only his assistant but his caretaker as well and that was a responsibility laid upon him by chairwoman Kang.

As if he jinxed his luck once again, Young Chul was still saying, "President, you don't need to…."

When he heard the sound of the door click and before his very eyes, an austere old woman elegantly walked into the living room. There was not a single smile on her face and she had her blazing eyes only on one person.

Daniel.

"C-chairwoman," Young Chul choked out. How did she find them? Well, she always had an eye out for her grandson. But finding them this quickly? She must be really furious. Oh no.

"Chairwoman?" said Daniel who had his back turned to her.

At once, Daniel turned around with lightning speed to see if his assistant was pulling his legs only to see the old woman standing there. He was dead meat.

Immediately, Young Chul decided to take control of the situation by standing in front of the president defensively. Unfortunately for him, that was the moment the chairwoman yelled, "You unfilial child!" and at the same time, pulled out her shoe in one swift move which she intended to hurl at her grandson, Daniel.

Sadly, because Young Chul was standing right in front of Daniel, the stiletto heel caught him right in the face and he fell to the ground at once, his nose beginning to bleed.

"Assistant Chul!" Daniel screamed, shocked. His grandmother had a lot of blood lusts today. He tried to go after his assistant who was hurt but the woman was not done with him.

Chairwoman Kang turned to her secretary and took the long broom she had arrived with and charged at her grandson like a highly trained assassin.

"Mrs. Kang, what are you doing!" Daniel yelped when the woman whipped him in the back with the long handle. He was a grown man for crying out loud.

"What am I doing?!" Chairwoman Kang's anger increased at the audacity of the question. How could he ask that after what he caused today?

No, she would kill this grandson of hers before he killed her before her time. So Grandmother Kang mercilessly struck him to her heart's desire.
