Mason grinned. "He's a good one, isn't he?"
Victor's eyes darkened when he remembered how grueling those hours were when he was forced to work with that girl closely. It had been years since he had been that close to the opposite gender, and he didn't want to change it!
He had already made so many mistakes since his teenage days. He still remembered how brutal the previous break-up had been. The girl from his university years had not only made him a playboy but also made his image worse in the eyes of others.
He had to travel to another country for a few years to get rid of rumors. And only then could he return. After that, he changed his ways and kept a distance from ladies while working as a beta for a few years until the accident happened.
"Let's not talk about it anymore," his glance fell sideways as he continued: "What are you doing here? Want a break again?"
Mason chuckled nervously. "I need money."
"For what?" Victor wasn't surprised after hearing that. His cousin was famous for creating trouble, and Victor was always the one who would have to clean up those messes. His grandfather had really spoiled this person to death. He felt helpless. "Did you make trouble for someone again who wants money?"
"Not that…" Mason scratched the back of his head. "I want to buy a sportscar."
Victor nodded as he opened the shopping website. "Which brand?"
Mason shook his head. "Send the money. I'll take care of it."
Victor was skeptical, but he still nodded and sent the money that his cousin wanted. Then he watched the latter's eyes sparkling as if he had done something good as the man spoke: "Thanks, bro."
"Get out." Victor didn't want to deal with his stupid brother for now. He rubbed his forehead as he thought about how to deal with his new wife.
Just as Mason was kicked out of the office, the CEO was about to get back to work when he got a call. Victor frowned when he saw the person's name who had just called. "Noah. What's wrong?"
The person on the other end of the call had a serious tone when he spoke: "Boss, we caught him."
Victor's expression changed when he heard that. His back straightened as he took his coat and walked out of the office. He glanced at Haley, who was frowning at his actions, and waved his hand as if he were dismissing her. He didn't plan to tell her where he was going.
His focus turned to his phone. "Tell me the details."
Noah opened his mouth from the other end. "We had set up a trap to capture the spy as ordered by you, and he fell for it. Right now, he's mumbling something we can't tell. I'm afraid if we don't interrogate him, he will commit suicide."
"Alright. I'm coming." Victor realized that things were serious. He didn't bother calling his driver this time and directly went to the car's driving seat as it moved outside the parking lot. On the way, he called his assistant and said, "Cancel the banquet tonight. I have some other work."
He didn't wait for Haley's response as he hung up the call and continued driving faster than ever. It didn't take him long to reach his destination as he parked the car in the parking lot and directly went onto the top floor of the twenty-story building in front of him.
This building was closer to his business, but he didn't need to go there every day since he had appointed his beta, Noah, to handle everything there. The man had been an important person loyal to his father for a few years. Since Winston trusted Noah so much, Victor didn't have any problem with raising him as the beta.
As Victor walked through the corridor, everyone stopped and lowered their heads without saying anything. At this time, Victor's aura was darker than usual because the spy they had caught had been making trouble for their pack for years. Now when this rat was in the cage….
A dark emotion flashed in Victor's eyes as he opened the door to his office. Noah Brown stood there with his back facing him. The man's black hair reached his shoulders, tied at the back of his head. He was talking on the phone with someone at this time. When he heard the sound of the door being opened, he turned and hung up the call. "Let's go."
Neither of them wasted any more minutes before going to the prison area, which was on the same floor on the other side. This place was meant for interrogating the criminals before presenting them to the court.
The entire area made one feel cold, but Victor and Noah were accustomed to it. They continued to walk until they reached the very end of the corridor. The door was dark and seemed lonely as the black-haired man reached out his hand and opened the door.
Soon after that, a man with blonde hair was revealed as he sat in one corner. His nails scratched the wall again and again as he mumbled a few words that no one could understand. Even his hair looked more like a bird's nest at this moment.
Victor looked at the man for a while before he sneered. "Are you done acting or not? Or should I send you to the mental house?"
The blond man's hands paused before he continued to scratch the wall. Even though his fingers were stiff from pain and traces of blood could be seen on the nails, he didn't stop.
When Victor saw that the blond didn't want to stop, he smiled. The corners of his lips were certainly in the upper curve, but this smile was so dark that Noah had the hallucination of the alpha being a devil incarnate. He blinked as the illusion vanished, but Victor continued to stare at the blond man in ragged clothes sitting in the dark room corner.
"Fine. I'll kill you right here." Victor spoke in an icy tone.
