"Yes ma'am. Don't worry I'll talk to Matt and Justice. Pretty sure they already figured it out, but I'll tell them just in case. Also I told Matt when I taught him not to tell anyone, so hopefully he didn't spread it around. Umm… Aunt Amy. Can we just not tell Grandma I've been using telepathy again?"
"Fine. I won't tell your grandma… You had better behave during this field trip though. I don't want to hear about how we suddenly have a silver haired S+ rank fighting beast waves on the west coast. Do we understand each other?"
Kai looked at his toes.. "Yes ma'am…"
Blockbuster patted his shoulder. "It's Ok Vector. I'm more surprised than anything. I'm also a little worried you'll get in over your head. I just want you to be careful. So how's hero school been treating you so far?"
Vector sat in the seat next to Blockbuster and started describing all the stuff he had been learning about in school.
It took the aircraft 2 hours to reach West City. Most of the housing in the outer city had been replaced by reinforced concrete super structures that acted almost like individual small cities. They stood dwarfing their surroundings, some as tall as a kilometer and half that in width.
These super structures acted as housing for the general populace. They were designed to be able to be sealed in case a beast wave got past the city walls. They surrounded downtown West City like titans, looking out across the ocean.
Over the past century the West Wall had been completed with the cooperation of various nations. It spanned the entire coast from Northern Washington to Peru. Standing 30 meters tall and 10 meters thick; it was a marvel of modern engineering.
Every year the Circle would send out at least one member to support the West Wall during the yearly beast wave that occurred when the kraken mating season came. The kraken would clear out the central Pacific region of the larger predators, sending the fleeing beasts outwards to the various coasts. This had wiped out many island nations causing their populations to evacuate to the larger continents.
Once the aircraft landed everyone piled out. They were greeted by some of the local S rank Heroes.
Over the next 2 hours they were briefed on the current situation and then divided into 3 groups. Two of the groups were sent north to help support the soldiers at the wall in different places.
Blockbuster, Justice, and Vector remained in West City so that they could quickly deploy to aid the Aztec confederacy to the south or the Canadian forces to the north in case the beast wave shifted.

2 days later 05:30(CST)
Klaxons blared across West City.
Vector was currently seated in the lotus position on the floor of the room he had been assigned. 'Whoa. That's a lot more sea beasts than usually show up in Japan. There are at least 100 000 A ranks. Gotta be at least 800 S ranks. At least they are split up into 3 groups so they won't all make landfall in the same area.'
He stood up and got dressed in under a second. Then flew out to where Blockbuster was floating in the sky above the wall. Justice met up with them shortly afterwards.
Blockbuster looked back over her shoulder. "OK. John, you'll be heading north to support the central coast."
She turned her head to look at Kai. "Kai you're faster than John so get up to the Port City and help them out there. Any questions?"
"..."
"..."
"Ok. Radio check." She pressed the button on the neck band style radio she was wearing."
Both boys pressed the buttons on the radios around their necks.
"Check for Vector."
"Check for Justice."
"Alright you two. Remember to keep your faces covered and also… Remember you're supposed to be S ranks. Don't reveal your real strength unless it's an emergency. Ok. Go! Try to stay safe."
With that both boys nodded, pulled up the the neck of their training suit to cover the lower half of their faces and disappeared over the horizon.
Vector glanced at Justice while keeping pace with his speed. ('Beast waves can get kind of hectic. Be careful.')
Justice nodded towards Vector with a grin on his face. ('I will. At this point I'm just glad we get to do something besides homework. Do you think the principal will lift our restrictions after this is over?')
('Probably. Hey, did you notice where they stationed Matt? There are like 100 different A rank metal controllers up and down the coast. I can't really tell him apart from the rest.')
('Wouldn't he be the one with the densest metal energy?')
('No… That one I'm pretty sure is a girl. Well except that one farther north, but I don't think Matt became an S rank in the past day. Plus that guy is all the way in Vancouver.')
('I say we just… Wait… How would you know all of that? You're just screwing with me now. Aren't you?')
('No…')
Justice's eyes opened wide. ('Seriously? There's no way you can sense that far away.')
Vector looked over at Justice. 'Is he messing with me?'
('Yeah… Why, how far can you sense energy?')
('Since you put that stuff in my head?? Maybe 49 or 50 kilometers. 100 kilometers if I focus in one direction.')
('Do you know how far your grandpa can sense energy? ')
('Yeah… About half as far as me, but he doesn't know that.')
('What!? Really???')
('Yeah… Can you really sense stuff that far away?')
('Yeah.')
('That's crazy! Hey, Saint City is coming up. I'll talk to you about this after the field trip is over. Sound good?')
('Yeah, I should probably hurry up and get to Port City myself.')
With that Vector's body was enveloped in silver electrical arcs and he disappeared from Justice's view.
Unknown to Justice, Vector was currently 60km directly above him observing him through his cosmic senses.
Vector put his thumbs to his ears with hands spread like a pair of antlers.
'Wow… So I guess he was serious. I always thought grandma and the masters were just trying to build my self confidence. Does that mean they really can't go into space too?'
Vector looked out towards the ocean.
'Hmmm… Looks like the beasts are splitting up again. Guess I'm gonna be busy.'
