She considered my request for a moment, then she nodded at me. I beamed. If she'd just smile back at me.
She rolled her eyes instead.
"Thank you," I told her regardless.
"Your sense of obligation hasn't improved much since your awakening."
"What are you talking about?"
"You still do what's unnecessary."
Yeah, she said something like that before.

I took her hand intertwining our fingers this time—I couldn't stop marveling at the sensation my skin on hers gave me, the small shots of electricity, and how right it felt.
We darted out following the gravel path along the lake, the wind had died down for the evening and she went along with me without any difficulty. Our bodies moved together at incredible speeds like we had done so a thousand times, our physical compatibility only made me more resolved to make this girl mine.
