"Watch the door." GunHead ordered Mina and Kirishima as you pushed the villain forward, crossing your arms as GunHead went to stand beside you. "What are you doing here in this hotel?"
"That's where you're starting?" You turned to him.
"What do you mean?"
"How about you start with why they are preventing us from getting further down the hotel?"
Mina and Kirishima glance at one another, not having noticed the farther they moved down the hotel floors, the more villains they ran into.
"Right-" GunHead nods, turning to the young boy. "-why are you fighting to keep us from getting to the lower levels?"
The villain replies by spitting in GunHeads direction.
"Alright-" You sigh, uncrossing your arms.
"Five." GunHead warns.
"Unfortunately for you-" You ignore the hero, "-we don't know what kind of time frame we are working with so-" You turn to GunHead, "-you might want to step into the hall."
"Five-" GunHead shakes his head.
"We don't have the time." You reply, turning to the boy. "What's the plan here?"
"Screw you-" He spits, flipping you off. In a heartbeat you reached out, gripping his arm while breaking his middle finger. He cried out as Mina closed her eyes looking away. The villain howls, stringing together curses as he drops to his knees.
You squat down beside him.
"Now-" You start, "-we can sit here in this little room while I break every bone in your scrawny body or you could just tell me what we need to know."
"Bite me!" He seethes curling his lip.
"Oh sweetie-" You smirk, "-you're going to wish I only did that."
"What is your end goal here?" GunHead tries to keep the boy and you on track.
"Fuck you!"
"You ready to die for this train wreck of a plan?" You wondered.
"We are wasting time here Five."
"You're right." You sigh standing up. "He is useless, probably doesn't even know anything."
"Get rid of him and let's go." GunHead waves turning to the two students, locked in place hugging the door.
"W-What!?" The villain gasps, "You-You're heroes! You-You can't kill me!" You lean into his personal space.
"Unfortunate for you, we aren't like the other heroes."
"Yo-You're a freak!"
"You're going to find out really quick there isn't anyone like me." You cock the gun in your hand.
"You can't shoot me-!"
"I know." You reply, seeing the small sliver of relief running across the boy's face. "You're not worth the bullet." Your fingers dip into your pants pocket pulling out the sleek knife.
"Wa-Wait-!" The villain backs away, sweat coating his skin.
"To late-" You retort stepping forward, "-you're out of time-"
"I-I know where they are!" The villain cries, legs shaking as his eyes glue themselves to the blade resting in your palm.
"Where are the explosives?" GunHead demanded.
"How-How did you know about those-!?" The villain stuttered his eyes never leaving your swaying hand containing the knife. You and GunHead locked eyes, confirming your suspicions, there were in fact bombs placed around the hotel. "-Th-They are on the forty ninth floor, room 022!"
"Now was that so hard?" You tilted your head.
"What are you gonna do with-?" The boy didn't get to finish his sentence before you pulled your gun and fired into his leg. He wailed, dropping to the floor holding his thigh. As fast as the pain entered his body, he slumped over unconscious.
"You have improved the formula." You turned to GunHead who smirked feeling proud of his work. Your group turned quickly, exiting the room jogging down the hall.
----
"I wonder why they picked this floor." GunHead muttered as you snuck through the halls.
"It was assigned to Kaina." You muttered. "Makes sense why they held up in the middle of her assigned floors."
"I guess." GunHead replies, glancing at the two kids behind him. "Should we..."
"Where are you gonna put them?" You questioned, agreeing with GunHead how Mina and Kirishima shouldn't be here, but what else could you do with them?
"Well..."
"It's not like they aren't training to do this." You retorted, coming up at the end of the empty hall peeking around the corner to once again, see nothing.
"Where did everyone go?"
"Do you think that villain lied about where they stashed the bombs?" Mina wondered.
"No." You shook your head, "He wouldn't be that stupid."
"Are you sure?" GunHead questioned causing you to smirk.
"There-" You pointed to the middle room. "-that's where he said they were."
"Well, what are we waiting for?" Kirishima grinned, "Let's go while no one is around!"
"That's what I'm worried about." You muttered following GunHead as you crossed the hall. You guided Mina and Kirishima against the wall, hugging it closely as GunHead fiddled with the door.
"It's unlocked." He stated turning to you.
"This is too easy." You glanced around the hall once more before pushing the two kids after GunHead.
Your body froze in its tracks upon gazing into the chilled room.
"Oh shit..."
All furniture had been hazardously thrown to one side, in the cleared area against the glass wall huddled together a dozen shivering people. Silver chains wrapped around each of them clustering them together as each wore a vest, tan blocks laced with messy wiring neatly lined each vest with the dark lettering: C4 High Explosive.
"Are..." One woman rose her head, tears stained her tired face. "...Are you here to save us?"
Slowly GunHead and you turned to one another...both understanding there were no bombs placed around the hotel, they were all chained together in this one room.
"Please save us-!" The dozens of hostages ranged from young and old, once they realized two pro-heroes stood in front of the exit they began to plea for help.
"You two leave." You instantly turned to Mina and Kirishima. "Get out of this building."
"Wh-What-?"
"You're on your own from here on out-" You declared, "-get as far as you can while avoiding any hostiles."
"But why-?" You pulled the two aside as GunHead went to working on the maze of wires.
"Those vests can go off at any moment-" You softly say, looking Kirishima in the eye.
"We know." Mina says.
"With all due respect-" Kirishima weakly smiles, "-we aren't going to listen to your order, we aren't leaving you (y/n)."
You stared at the two and Mina nodded in agreement, from what you could recall in those frozen memories you tried to avoid; you knew you didn't have the time to argue. You ended up nodding, turning to the red head.
"You watch her back." You replied stepping beside GunHead knowing if Kaina was to trigger the vests, his quirk could possibly save their lives. "Tell me you know how to get these off."
"It's complicated." GunHead dropped his voice, low enough so the hostages couldn't hear. "It's going to take time."
"Great." You breathe, "The one thing we don't have."
"You think now is the time for sarcasm?" GunHead retorted, turning his head to lecture when your ear twitched catching the familiar light whistle a blade makes when it slices the air.
Without thinking your body moved on its own, side stepping away from GunHead to stand in front of a woman with sand colored hair looking up at you with confused deep green eyes. You locked your jaw feeling the cut of the blade running across your back, through your jacket.
"What-!?" GunHead whipped around hearing the deep laughter.
Just as fast as the blade came, it was ripped away by the chain tied to the end of the barrel. Your skin burned from the blade mark running across your flesh, but you locked your jaw rising your head to look at the petrified woman.
"It's going to be ok." You breathed, slowly turning around taking in the seven goons engulfing the exit.
"There weren't supposed to be any Bullets here." A coltish villain with tinted skin turned to the figure beside him. You took in the seven-foot herculean man who wielded the sledge axe in one hand while holding its thick chain in the other.
"I'll deal with the Bullet-" The Herculean man stepped forward allowing his weapon to fall to the floor, crumbling the tile under its weight. "-you handle the other pests."
"GunHead-" You muttered without looking over. "-can you get those vests off?"
"With time."
"How much?"
"Five...maybe ten minutes."
"Alright-" You sucked in a breath as you took a step closer to the villains. "-Kirishima, Mina your GunHead's backup-"
"You can't be serious about letting her take on that freak-!" Mina breathed turning to GunHead, "-he is massive, and she is in recovery!"
"I know-" GunHead solemnly turned his back on you, returning to the mess of copper wires. "-she shouldn't even be out here today. But you don't get to pick and choose when you want to be a hero."
"You think you little rodents will be able to stand against us!?" One stocky villain gargles his voice puffing his chest out.
"Why are you doing this-!?" Mina cried, wishing for you to return to her side. "-what have these people done to you!?"
"We don't care about them." The Herculean man grunted.
"Then why-?"
"They are nothing but tools to help us free Stain-"
"Th-The Hero Killer?" Mina and Kirishima lock eyes.
You understood everything you needed to know, glancing over your shoulder at the collection of hostages, you took a wild guess they were captive families of the higher ups from downstairs. This charity event had everyone from all branches of government coming here today, it was the perfect time to capture hostages and use them as bargaining chips.
"Not this bullshit again-" You groaned pulling all eyes to you and off GunHead.
"What do you know of Stain's ideology!?" The stocky villain snips.
"I know I met your so-called hero-" You shrugged.
"-yeah-!?" The stocky villain waves, "-so what?"
"-and I kicked his ass." You smirked watching the confusion blossom along their faces.
"Yeah right-!"
"Who do you think put him away?" You instigated, keeping all eyes on you.
"Endeavor-"
"Now you're giving too much credit to that overgrown lighter." You laughed.
"You bitch-!" The Herculean villain picked up his weapon. "-you will bow to Stain's name!"
"I'd rather chew off my own arm." You motion with your arms watching the Herculean man draw his blade. You knew with your leg in its condition along with the bullet hole still healing in your shoulder, you couldn't rely on speed and had partial strength.
"DIE-!" Herculean belted throwing his blade, you narrowed your eyes on it, ready to block it but to your surprise its path curved, as if it had a life of its own. Your eyes dimly lit, you struggled to activate your wind quirk, allowing yourself to dodge the strike but you felt it glitch with a sharp pain shooting across your skull you were to distracted to notice the sledge axe running up on your left.
"(y/n)-!" Mina cried out watching you fly off your feet backwards and threw the glass wall. "-no!"
