"I'm staying with you," the angel asserted flatly.

"He's right," I spoke up.
"The warning phase is over. I'm safe now."
"We don't know—"
"And besides, this wasn't so much about my safety nonetheless as having Scholes keep me from realizing the fact about your family crises. It's too late now, and I'm bored If possessing a shadow. You keep him, and we'll all nap easy, even if it is overkill."
"Eloquently put," giggled Scholes.
Jake still boycotted, and we bickered a bit more about it, but in the end, the verdict lounged in Scholes's hands.
Jake had no capacity to order him around; indeed, if Scholes needed to follow the demon indefinitely, there was nothing Jake could perpetrate, not actually. They weren't getting on to wage any epic battles with each other, no matter how enraged they currently seemed.
